UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.`
ALEXANDER DOMBROWSKY, OF LAS CASCADAS, PANAMA.
TROUSERS-CREASER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDER DOM- BRowsKY, a. citizen of the United States, and a resident of Las Cascadas, Panama, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trousers-Creasers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is an improvement in trousers creasers and has for an object to provide a simple and novel construction which will be efficient in use, is made in sections which can be conveniently detached to permit the device to be packed in small space and which can be quickly set up for use, and the invention consists in certain novel constructions and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a side view of the invention as in use. Fig. 2 is an edge view of one of the side clamps. Fig. 3 is a detail perspective View illustrating the construction at the meeting ends of the members of one of the side bars. Fig. 4 is a detail perspective view of one of the clasps. As shown, the creasers includes a pair of side clamps A, which clamps are alike, so that a description of one will answer for both and these side clamps A are provided at their upper ends with bows B, and a yoke C connects these bows, being provided with portions C fitting within the bows and with projections C2 which engage the inner edges o-f the bows so that the intermediate spring portion C3 of the yoke, when its compressing ring D is moved to the dotted line position shown in Fig. 1, may operate to force the opposite side clamps apart to secure a stretching of the trousers at the foot end thereof, as will be understood from Fig. 1 of the drawing.
One of the side clamps is shown in detail in Fig. 2 and from this ligure and Fig. 1 of the drawing, it will be noticed that the side clamp includes side bars A having members A2 and As which are fitted end to end and are detachably connected at their meeting ends by means of a box E on the end of the section A2 and open at one side E forming the spring wings E2, which have inwardly projecting ribs E3 which enter corresponding notches A13 in the tenon A14 at the end of the member A3. By this means Specification of Letters Patent.

ribbed spring wings E2 with the meeting end of the section A, At their upper ends the side bars are secured to their respective arms of the bow B and may spring apart by the action of said bow when the clasps F are released, as indicated by the dotted lines at the lower end of the right hand clamp A in Fig. 1. The clasps F which are arranged at intervals along the side clamps are composed of spring wires having each a side member pivoted at F2 to the outer face of one of the side bars of the clamp bent between its' ends at F3 and connected by a cross-bar F4 which may be coiled at F5 midway between its ends, with the opposite side member F", which engages on the outer side of the side bar complementary to that. to which the clasp is pivoted at F2, as will be understood from Figs. 1, 2 and 4 of the drawing. By adjusting the clasp in the dotted line position X shown in Fig. 1 to the full line position shown in said figure, it will operate to hold the side bars of the clamp firmly upon thc trousers to be creased. If desired, the clamps may be made one longer than the other to adapt them for use atthe front and rear edges of the trousers leg as shown in Fig. 1.
I claim: Y
1. A trousers creaser substantially as herein described, consisting of a pair of side clamps, each clamp comprising a top bow, and side bars secured at their upper ends to their respective arms of the bow and made in sections fitting end to end and detachably connected at their meeting ends, clasps arranged at intervals along the side clamps, and a yoke connecting the bows of the opposite side clamps and engaging with said bows and having an intermediate spring portion adapted .when freed to force the opposite bows apart, and means for compressing the said intermediate portion, substantially as set forth.
2. In a trousers creaser, a side clamp comprising side bars made in sect-ions fitting end to end, a boX on one of the sections and open at one side and having an inwardly projecting rib or ribs at said side and the meeting section being notched to receive said ribs or posit-e side clamps apart and means for Colnprojectlons whereby the part-s are lnterpressing sald lnterlnedla-te portion, substan- 10 looked, substantially as set forth. tally as set forth.
3. The combination n a trousers oreaser of side clamps and a. yoke connected with the ALEXANDER DOMBROWSKY opposite side clamps and extending therebe- /Vtnesses: tween and having an intermediate spring H. Rown, portion adapted When freed to press the op- WILLIAM T. KIMBERLY.
