RACHEL JASPER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.-
CRYSTAL-CLOSET BRACKET. Y
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RACHEL JASPER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a newand Improved Crystal-Closet Bracket, .of which the fol-. lowing is a full, clear, and exact description. My invention relates to a new and im proved form of depending bracket, and is particularly adapted to form a bracket for a glass shelf such as is used in crystal closets, where it is inconvenient or impos sible-to attach a supporting means forthe bracket directly to the glass. By means/of my improved bracket, a means is-afi'orded whereby cups or other articles may be susconstruction of the glass shelf. a
With the above and other obj ectsin view,
present invention consists in certain novel details of construction and arran ement of in the accompanying drawings .and more particularly pointed out in the appended claim. Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part. of this specification, in which similar characters of ref erence indicate corresponding parts in all the figures, and in -wh1 chv Figure 1 isa perspective view showing a preferred embodiment of my invention applied to a glass shelf; Fig. 2 is a transverse through the bracket;" and Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view' 7 I hav? shown a glass plate or shelf A, suspended from which is a bracket. 0 forming the subject-matter of my, invention. This bracket is made of two telesco ing parts, one part, a rod 4 telescoping within a hollow tubular part 5. Rigidly afii'xed upon the tube 5,
which are adapted to rest ulpon the top of the shelf 8'. In order to ho d the rod-4 in adjusted position within the tube 5, the.
slotted ortion projects a jamnut 9 inthreaded engagement with-the inner end of the rod 4, sai jam nut having a head 10 Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed June a, 1911.
hooks rigidly aflixed to the the top of the shelf.

adapted to'fit closely adjacent the tube '5 on opposite transverse sides of the slot 8. It may be seen that by this construction, the
rod may be adjusted to fit diflerent sized shelves. Adapted to be positioned upon the bracket is a hook 11, in this particular case shown to beef twoparts connected together byaball-and-socketconnection 12. By this arrangement, the hook may be disposed at any position along the bracket and due to the ball 'and-socket connection, the article in this'case shown to'be a cup 13, may be suspended frojin the lower end of the hook and may be rotated into any desired position.
ile a preferred embodiment of the invention'has been described, it is to be understood that many changes could be made in theabove construction and many appar-' 'ently widely different embodiments of this invention could be made without departing fromthe scope thereof. It is intended that all matters contained herein the above description or shown in the accompanying a' i parts hereinafter fully described, illustratedand not in a limiting sense. It is also to be understood that the language used in the' following claim is intended to cover the shall be interpreted as illustrative full scope of. theinvention and'isnot to be given any narrower construction than the prior art demands, and that mater1als,s1 zes and relativities of arts are non-essential,
'exceptasfcalled for in the claim.
Havin'g thus described my invention, I claim asnew and desire to secureby Lette'rs Patent In ,a'bracket adapted to be positioned beneath a' shelf, said bracket comprising a tubular part and a rod telescoping into said tubular part, said tubular art be slotted for aportion of its lengt a thum screw passing through said slot and e sag-1% theinner end of said rod, whereby said r maybe locked in position, and L-shaped outer end of the rod and to the "outer end of the tubular member, said hooks adapted to; rest upon name to this ecification' in' the presence of-two subscribmg'witnesses. v
