Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Aug. 15, 1911.

Application led May 31, 1910. Serial No. 564,251.

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, MIKOLAJ KRZEWINSKI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sacramento, in the county of Sacramento, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lunch- Heaters; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the characters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this application.

This invention relates to impro-vements in lunch buckets, the object of the invention being to produce a lunch bucket having a heating means whereby coffee, tea or other liquid refreshments as well as food of all kinds can be. kept warm or be heated as desired.

A further object of the invention is to produce such a device as will be simple and inexpensive and yet exceedingly effective for the purposes for which it is designed.

These objects, I accomplish by means of such structure and relative arrangement of parts as will fully vappear by a perusal of the following specification and claims.

In the drawings similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.

Figure 1 is a front perspective view of the complete lunch bucket. Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on a line :1c-a: of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view taken on a line y-y of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a sectional view taken on a line z-e of Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is a fragmentary view showing a retaining catch.

Referring no-w more particularly to the characters of reference on the drawings 1 designates the main' receptacle of the bucket the same having a false bottom 2 surrounding a central transversely disposed heating chamber 3 having an end door 4 having' a handle 5 and a retaining catch 6 to lock it in closed position, such door having an upper flue or recess 7 and a plurality of lower air inlet holes 8, the opposite end of the chamber 3 having also a plurality of lower air inlet holes 9. In practice the door 4 when opened lies substantially in the same parallel plane with the bottom of the chamber 3 whereby a lamp 10 may be easily advanced into said chamber 3 and positioned in the end opposite the said door 4 as shown in Fig. 2 such lamp having a long projecting wick operating handle 11 which projects adjacent to the inner side of said door 4 thus giving the double advantage of permitting an easy adjustment of the flame of the lamp and of its impingement against the door 4 if the lamp should chance to slide in that direction and thus hold the lamp 10 in proper stationary position'.

The recess 7 formsa sort of a draft flue for the lamp while the holes 8 and 9 form the necessary air inlet to permit the lamp to burn and by placing t-he said lamp 10 at the end of the chamber opposite t-he door 4 the draft through the said recess 7 .draws the heat clear along the roof of said chamber 3 thus heating it without wasting any of the heat.

The lunch bucket has a plurality of trays for various purposes the first being a liquid tray 12 having a central recess or chamber 13 to fit over the chamber 3. The said tray 12 also has inside slides or guides 14 whereby when the coffee or other liquid is poured intp such tray 12 then another food containing tray 15 is inserted into the tray 12 such tray 15 having grooves 16 which lit over the slides 14 but which are of a lesser length than such slides 14 whereby the tray 15 is held at a spaced distance from the tray 12 at the bottom forming a chamber 20, said tray 15 also having a central chamber 17 fitting over the chamber 13 but spaced therefrom forming side spaces 19 and an upper chamber 18 the liquid filling into said chambers whereby the same receives the best benefit of the heat from the lamp 10 which is directly underneath the chambers 3 and 13. The amount of liquid which these spaces 18, 19 and 20 will hold is previously determined so that too much or too little will not be put therein. l

The top of t-he chamber 17 has a concave recess 17a and 21 is a top tray fitting into the member 15 and having a central concave portion 22 conforming to the members 17a and adapted to receive pie or the like which will all receive the heat coming up from the lamp 10.

In the top edge of the tray 12 are clip lmembers 23 adapted to bend over and engage recesses 23a in the tray 15 and to eX- tend across the top edge of the tray 21 to hold all of said trays in fixed position in the member 1. Then when said clips 23 are turned back to vertical position they may be used as handles to lift the trays from the member 1.

24 designates the lid of the bucket havingv slotted latches 25 to engage lugs 26 on the member 1, and 27 is a handle or bailpivoted to the member 1 at 28.

From the foregoing description it can be readily seen that- I have produced such a device as substantially fulfils the objects of the invention as set forth herein.

\hile this specification sets forth in detail the present and preferred construction of the device, still in practice such deviations from such detail'may be resorted to as do not form a departure from the spirit of the invention.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and useful and desire to secure by Letters Patent is :v

1. A lunch heater comprising a lunch bucketprovided with a centralv transverse heating chamber projecting upwardly therein, a tray disposed in said lunch bucket having a chamber adapted to fit over said irst named chamber, the bottom of said tray being spaced from the bottom of said lunch bucket, the sides of the chamber of said tray being. spaced from the sides of said first named chamber and a lid on said bucket as described. ,A

A lunch heater comprising` a lunch bucket having a central transverse heating chamber projecting upwardly into said bucket, a false bottom in said bucket disposed around said heating chamber, a tray disposed in said `bucket and having a chamber adapted to it over said heating chamber, the bottom of said tray being spaced from the false bottom ofl said bucket,- the sides of the chamber of said tray being spaced from the sides of said heating chamber, and a lidl on said bucket as described.

3. A lunch heater comprising a lunch bucket having a central transverse heating chamber projecting upwardly into said bucket, vertical slides ini said-bucket, a tray itting into said bucket, such tray having grooves adapted toiit Over said slides, such grooves being of a lesser length than. said slides anda lid on said-bucket.
