Abstract
The disclosed building panel comprises a surface layer and a core layer, the core comprises wood fibres, and the surface layer comprises homogeneous mixture consisting of wood fibres comprising natural resins, binder and wear resistant particles. The wood fibres in the surface layer are unpurified and contain lignin. The panel is a flooring panel comprising a stabilizing layer, the binder is a thermosetting resin, and wear resistant particles contain aluminum oxide. The aluminum oxide particles are in direct contact with an upper part of the core. The disclosed method of manufacturing the panel with a decorative surface layer includes following stages: dry mixing the particles; applying the dry mixture directly on the core comprising a wood fiber board, and applying heat and pressure to the dry mixture.
