Abstract

A unit for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots comprises a frame, a feeding conveyer, a baffle brush, a cleaner, mounted inclinedly as a truncated hollow cone, formed by transverse round rods fixed with gaps and connected with a drive that brings it into rotational movement, a drive shaft of an activator, mounted inside of the cleaner, and also a blanket cleaner and an unloading conveyer. In doing so on the drive shaft of the activator a conical spiral spring with winding directed downwards is mounted. The outer surface of said spring is covered with a thin rubber film, and in upper and lower ends thereof short compression springs are arranged. They are connected with couplings that can be pressed and fixed on the shaft of the activator. In doing so the outer ends of the spiral winding of the conical spring have a gap of the constant size with the inner surface of the cleaner.
