Abstract
The invention relates to a transformer core comprising a core interior consisting of a magnetisable material. Magnetic leakage fluxes create eddy currents in the outer core regions, which lead to power losses and local overheating. Said leakage fluxes are channelled and conducted away from the outer region of the core interior by shielding, which partially encompasses the core interior and consists of at least one layered magnetisable material. This permits the formation of eddy currents in the core interior to be significantly reduced and thus prevents local overheating of the transformer core and power losses.
