Abstract

A method of producing granules from biomass by transformation of a vegetable raw material into granules for food, fodder or energy use, which includes preliminary drying the vegetable raw material, two-step crushing into fractions: primary crushing - up to 25 mm and secondary crushing – up to 4 mm, mixing the ground raw material, granulation thereof, cooling the granular material and isolation from it of high-quality granules: separation of granules from dust. All the processes are carried out at a pressure close to the atmospheric pressure, and at a temperature in the range from 10 to 60 °C. Preliminary drying the vegetable raw material is carried out up to the humidity of 14± 4%, and processes of cooling granular material and separation of the granules from dust are carried out simultaneously. The technology of fabrication of the granules from the biomass makes it possible to save up to 10% of energy resources during production with observance of required quality of biomass in the granules.
