Abstract
A method for thermo-chemical treatment of tool includes applying a coating of refractory metal nitrides by the method of condensation-ion bombardment and subsequent nitrogenization in plasma of electric gas discharge between the processed tool-electrode and additional electrode. For the purpose of increasing service durability of the tool nitrogenization is carried out in nitrogen plasma of non-self-maintained discharge initiated by flow of electrons from plasma of vacuum arc discharge. At that the processed tool is an anode.
