Abstract

A method of sorting and crushing used plastic bottles includes gradual separation thereof. At the first stage used bottles are fed through a hopper onto a conveyor, wherein video cameras distinguish bottle sizes according to sizes and emit a signal to nozzles for further separation of the bottles by size. At the second stage, the bottles pre-sorted by size are fed into a sorting machine, where the bottles are sorted according to size and material in individual storage bins. At the third stage the bottles are fed to the crusher, wherein crushing is carried out with simultaneous sorting onto necks, middles, and bottoms.
