The composition of the flux as a fluxing component - a solvent of the metal oxide film includes a relatively low-activity dibasic organic maleic acid. The disadvantages of the known flux are its low fluxing capacity, and it also has high corrosion activity. When soldering, due to the presence of rosin, tar formation occurs on the surface of the printed circuit board.
Removal of these substances requires thorough washing with mixtures of various organic solvents, and in some cases additional mechanical cleaning. This is associated with significant technological difficulties, especially when the printed assembly is very compact and when there are bodyless and hinged elements on the printed circuit boards. These factors reduce the reliability of the REA. Their elimination leads to an increase in the cost of materials, time and money for soldering technology.
Відомий "Флюс для низькотемпературного паяння" (прототип), що містить як флюсуючий компонент - розчинник оксидної плівки металу янтарну кислоту, а також спирт ізопропіловий (ПоThe well-known "Flux for low-temperature soldering" (prototype), which contains succinic acid as a fluxing component - a solvent for the metal oxide film, as well as isopropyl alcohol (Po
1986 р.Ї. Флюс містить інгредієнти в наступних кількостях (95, мас):US Patent No. 4601763, M. Cl. В23К35/34, publ. 1986 Flux contains ingredients in the following quantities (95, mass):

This flux has a sufficiently high activity. However, in the process of soldering, under the action of the flux, which covers the entire surface of the printed circuit board, compounds are formed that, in conditions of high humidity, can cause metal corrosion and reduce the insulation resistance of printed circuit boards. Flux residues after soldering need to be thoroughly washed with an aqueous solution of alcohol, after which drying of the products is necessary. REA. Their elimination leads to an increase in the cost of materials, time and money for soldering technology.
The problem that the useful model is aimed at solving is the creation of a flux composition for tinning and soldering with low-melting solders with a new technical effect, which consists in: - reduction of tar products; - increasing the fluxing activity, - decreasing the corrosive activity of the flux; - increase in degreasing properties.
Поставлена задача розв'язується флюсом для автоматизованої низькотемпературної пайки, що не потребує відмивання, який містить суміш янтарної кислоти, розчинника, і відрізняється тим, що склад додатково містить антранілову кислоту, гліцерин, бензотриазол, ацетон, а інгредієнти узяті в наступному співвідношенні (95, мас):The task is solved by a flux for automated low-temperature soldering that does not require washing, which contains a mixture of succinic acid, a solvent, and differs in that the composition additionally contains anthranilic acid, glycerin, benzotriazole, acetone, and the ingredients are taken in the following ratio (95, mass):
4,5-6,0Succinic acid 4.5-6.0
0,4-0,8Anthranilic acid 0.4-0.8
Ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, acetone (in the rest (to a ratio of 2:1) 100 Vol).
The proposed flux can be used for low-temperature soldering of printed circuit boards on devices of the "Solder Wave" type, by immersion soldering in stationary melt baths. Due to the increase in the density of printed circuit boards of modern boards, when the distance between current-carrying circles and the width of metallized tracks can be less than 10 μm, the flux used must be low-active and not cause corrosion. At the same time, it should provide high soldering capacity. For this purpose, a relatively weak succinic acid (HOOS-CH»-COOH) was selected as an active fluxing component, as in the analogous compound, which takes part in the preparation of the oxidized metal for reduction. To increase the fluxing activity, anthranilic acid (НеМСвНаСО»Н) and glycerol (СНгОН-СНОН-СН2ОН) are additionally introduced into the composition. This combination of succinic acid, anthranilic acid and glycerin leads to the complete dissolution of oxide films on the surface of the base metal being soldered and the solder. A feature of the proposed flux is that anthranilic acid performs the function of not only an active component, but also a corrosion inhibitor.
2:1.To increase the degreasing properties of the flux, a mixture of alcohol (ethyl or isopropyl) and acetone in a ratio of 2:1 was chosen as a solvent for the main components.
For additional cleaning, as well as to improve the wetting and uniform spreading of the solder melt on the surface of the base metal, benzotriazole (SeNhM»z) is added to the flux, which ensures the dissolution and removal of all oxides and other inclusions from the metal surface. Benzotriazole also acts as a corrosion inhibitor due to the presence of an amino group.
Thus, a feature of the proposed composition is that the benzotriazole and anthranilic acid introduced into it exhibit an inhibitory effect that regulates the etching process, preventing the destruction of the metal after its oxides are destroyed. As a result of chemical reactions of benzotriazole and anthranilic acid with a metal surface, stable compounds with hydrophobic properties are created, which protect metals from corrosion in conditions of high humidity. In normal climatic conditions, non-ionic organic compounds arising in the soldering process can also increase the electrical resistance of dielectrics. All this allows you to remove the operation of washing the flux residues after soldering.
In the proposed composition of the flux, the optimal quantitative ratios of active reagents - succinic acid, anthranilic acid and glycerin are selected so as to ensure sufficient
With fluxing activity (necessary wetting and spreading), without increasing the corrosive activity of the flux, which makes it possible to exclude the washing operation.
Numerous studies conducted at the Interdepartmental Scientific and Educational Physical and Technical Center of Odesa National University named after I. Her. Mechnikov, showed that when the concentration of fluxing ingredients is reduced below the declared minimum, the wetting and spreading of the solder on the surface of the base metal worsens. When the concentrations of fluxing components are increased above those indicated in the composition of the claimed flux, corrosion of contact joints occurs, especially in conditions of high humidity and temperature.
The optimal concentration of the corrosion inhibitor - benzotriazole (0.5-0.8 95, by weight) is selected so that, on the one hand, it provides the necessary inhibitory effect, and on the other hand, it provides the necessary wetting and spreading of the solder. When the inhibitor concentration is reduced to less than 0.595, the inhibitory activity decreases. When the concentration of the inhibitor is increased by more than 0.8 95, wetting and spreading of the solder on the surface of the base metal worsens.
The flux is made as follows: all the components in the indicated quantities are successively dissolved in a specified amount of a mixture of alcohol and acetone in a ratio of 2:1, and by mixing they are brought to complete dissolution. To accelerate the dissolution process, the mixture can be heated to a temperature of 600-707 C
Флюсуючу активність складів визначали по значенню коефіцієнта розтікуваності (по міді, сріблу).A comparison of the technical characteristics of the proposed flux and the prototype flux was carried out when soldering the attached elements of printed circuit boards on the "Solder Wave" type installation with POS - 61 solder. The residual flux after soldering was not removed. Next, accelerated tests of printed circuit boards were carried out in a humidity chamber at a temperature of 40 "С and a relative humidity of 98 95. After soldering and after the accelerated tests, the insulation resistance of the printed circuit boards, which depends on the corrosion activity of the fluxes, was measured. The fluxing activity of the compositions was determined by the value of the spreading coefficient (according copper, silver).

Experimental testing of the proposed flux confirmed the achievement of the task. The advantage of flux is low corrosion activity and high fluxing ability when soldering printed circuit boards. After soldering, it is not necessary to clean the surface of printed circuit boards and contact nodes from flux residues and chemical reaction products. Economic efficiency in the implementation of a useful model is achieved by the fact that with practically the same cost of chemical components (ingredients) as in the composition of the prototype, the quality of soldering is significantly increased, the costs of the board washing operation are reduced, and the reliability and operational (time) resource of the equipment is increased in as a whole The proposed flux manufacturing technology does not change relative to known compositions. At the same time, the technology of processing soldered joints (contacts) is greatly simplified.
