Method for operating one-step system of gas distribution for inhabited locality includes laying a developed city or village gas mains as distribution gas pipelines for different purposes, with installation of fittings and equipment of gas pipelines, technological connection of the gas mains with autonomous gas-control stations and the supply gas pipeline through which high-pressure gas is fed. At laying and operating the one-step system of gas distribution for an inhabited locality one uses distribution gas pipelines with medium gas pressure. From the supply gas pipeline the high-pressure gas is supplied to the city or the village gas mains through slides installed in arranged in parallel bypass gas-supply network and the main operating gas-supply mains. The main operating gas-supply mains is equipped with installed in sequence filter, shutoff valve, medium gas pressure controller, discharge gas-conducting network with safety-discharge valve, the node of gas flow rate registration, this is connected to the village or the city gas-supply mains of medium pressure and the lateral low pressure gas lines. As autonomous gas-controller sites one uses individual low pressure controllers, those are installed at each gas consumer, after those ones the low-pressure gas is supplied.
