Abstract

The method for the surgical treatment of the patients with the pathological lesions in the lungs provides for thoracotomy, fixation, separation and removal of the pathological structure, aerohemostasis, and suturing the wound surface in the lung and thoracotomic wound. Prior to the fixation of the pathologic structure, the solution of Novocain is injected subpleurally over the pathologic area. The pleura is incised round the periphery of the lesion by two thirds of its area, separated by Kocher's probe, and the pleural flap attached with the peduncle is then moved apart. The pathological structure is separated from the parenchyma of the lung and removed with the aid of Kocher's probe. Upon the aerohemostasis, the wound surface in the lung is sutured step-by-step by two-row sutures starting from its bottom towards the edges of the wound, covered with the pleural flap, and attached to the lung.
