Abstract

A method for manufacturing heat-and sound-insulating material involves preparing mineral fiber suspension, preparing silicic acid sol as binding agent, mixing thereof with mineral fiber suspension, forming the cloth by means of suspension dehydration and drying. The silicic acid sol is prepared and simultaneously precipitated on the mineral fiber in the process of preparation of mineral fiber suspension between 5 and 50 minutes, at pH between 4.5 and 8.5 and temperature of suspension between 4 and 35 DEGREE C, at that ratio of silicic acid sol mass (as recalculated per SiO2) to the mass of mineral fiber is between 1.0 and 150.0. As a variant, the double sol of silicic acid and hydroxide of bi- or trivalent metal of multicomponent silicic acid sol and hydroxides of bi- and trivalent metals is prepared and simultaneously precipitated. At that ratio of total mass of silicic acid sol and sol of hydroxide of bi- or trivalent metal, or total mass of silicic acid sol and total mass of sol of hydroxides of bi- and trivalent metals (as recalculated per SiO2, MeO and Me2O3) to the mass of mineral fiber is between 1.0 and 300.0, and ratio of mass of sol of hydroxide of bi- or trivalent metal or total mass of multicomponent sol of bi- and trivalent metals (as recalculated per MeO and Me2O3) to the mass of silicic acid sol (as recalculated per SiO2) is between 0.1 and 1.0.
