Abstract
The method of treatment of hazardous waste includes the preparation of a mixture of solid powdered or pasty organic hazardous waste and binders to form a mixed composition. The mixed composition contains the natural mineral paligorskite and sugar beet processing waste - molasses, at a ratio of 1: 1 in the mixture, and Portland-type cement, in an amount not exceeding that required to ensure the hardening of the mixture to solid or semi-solid form. Hazardous waste and binder component are mixed with their mutual coating and penetration to obtain a composition for granulation, with a volume ratio of hazardous waste to the binder component from 1: 2 to 1: 4, carry out the formation of the resulting composition for granulation in granules coated with a layer of waterproof substance. As a waterproofing coating, cement dust and Portland-type cement are added in an amount not exceeding that required to increase the viscosity, but not less than 0.25 parts of Portland-type cement in the mixture, with a volume ratio of waterproofing coating to the composition for granulation containing hazardous waste (1-1.5) :( 3-4). The process leads to the formation of a consolidated stable solid product having a protective shell in the form of a layer of waterproof substance that completely covers the surface of the composition for granulation containing hazardous waste.

Known sources of environmental pollution are waste from enterprises, substandard fertilizers, toxic chemicals, in particular pesticides that have become unusable or prohibited for use. Currently, a significant amount of such hazardous waste has been accumulated, therefore the task of processing hazardous waste in order to limit its entry into the environment and reduce its environmental hazard is extremely urgent.
20.01.1999 р.,Known method of processing hazardous waste (patent KO 2125022 (С1), publ. 20.01.1999,
1/521, according to which a mixture consisting of ground quicklime and clay minerals in the form of hydromica and/or montmorillonite and/or palyhorskite, into which sodium metasilicate is introduced, is used for wastewater treatment, and the clay minerals additionally contain kaolinite and/ or bentonite, beidelite.
The method is intended for the removal of dissolved metals and suspended substances from wastewater, and is not suitable for the treatment of hazardous waste containing nitrogen, phosphorus, fluorine, chlorine, sulfur, and is unsuitable for the treatment of hazardous waste in the form of powders, granules, or pastes.
The method of processing hazardous waste is also known (application SM 106241981 (А), publ. 101/221, according to which the natural mineral attapulgite, which is close to the natural mineral palyhorskite, in mixtures with charcoal from biomass and chitosan are used as a reagent for the treatment of wastewater with a high content of pesticide salts.
The known method of processing hazardous waste can be used in conventional wastewater treatment processes, and, in particular, to neutralize pesticide salts dissolved in wastewater. This method is not suitable for processing hazardous waste in the form of powders, granules or paste.
The closest analogue is the method of processing hazardous waste (application CM 104826854 (А), publ. 12.08.2015, IPC 8В0983/00; ВО9В5/00Ї, which concerns the method of regeneration
From hazardous solid waste containing organic phosphorus pesticide. The method includes the following stages: extraction and grinding of attapulgites, oxidation of attapulgites with hydrogen peroxide solution, soaking and elution of attapulgites with acid until the pH of attapulgites is in the region of weak acid, soaking of attapulgites in a saturated solution of sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate and sodium lingosulfonate, separation of solid and liquid, incineration of solid matter at high temperature to obtain attapulgite material, grinding of burnt attapulgite particles to obtain modified attapulgite material, mixing of modified attapulgite material with hazardous solid waste containing organic phosphorus pesticides being processed, addition of sodium lingosulfonate solution, oscillation of the solution for at least one hours, separating the solid from the liquid to obtain a solid.
The disadvantages of this method are that it is quite complex and multi-stage, requires the use of a fairly significant amount of substances necessary for the process.
Modification in a saturated solution of sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate and sodium lingosulfonate necessitates the inclusion in the method of the process of burning a solid substance at a high temperature, which leads to increased energy costs.
The useful model is based on the task of creating a technology for processing hazardous waste stored in the form of powders, granules, and pastes, which, due to the introduction of new operations and changes in the composition of binding components, allows for the effective neutralization of hazardous waste during its transportation and storage, and prevents hazardous substances from entering the environment.
Another, related to the first, task of a useful model is to simplify the technology of processing hazardous waste and, at the same time, reduce the associated energy costs.
The task is solved by the fact that in the method of processing hazardous waste, which includes the preparation of a mixture of solid powdery or pasty organic hazardous waste and binding components with the formation of a mixed composition, according to a useful model, the mixed composition contains the natural mineral palyhorskite and sugar beet processing waste - molasses, at a ratio of 1:1 in the mixture, and Portland-type cement, in an amount not exceeding that necessary to ensure the hardening of the mixture to a solid or semi-solid form, the hazardous waste and the binding component are mixed with their mutual bo coating and penetration, to obtain composition for granulation, with a volume ratio of hazardous waste to the binder component in it from 1:2 to 1:4, the resulting composition for granulation is formed into granules covered with a layer of waterproof substance, while cement dust is added as a covering waterproof substance and Portland-type cement, in an amount not exceeding neo required to increase viscosity, but not less than 0.25 parts of Portland-type cement in the mixture, with a volume ratio of the covering waterproofing substance to the granulation composition containing hazardous waste (1-1.5):(3-4 ), the process leads to the formation of a consolidated stable solid product having a protective shell in the form of a layer of waterproof substance that completely covers the surface of the granulation composition containing hazardous waste.
Due to the fact that the mixed composition contains the natural mineral palygorskite and sugar beet processing waste - molasses, at a ratio of 1:1 in the mixture, and Portland-type cement, in an amount not exceeding what is necessary to ensure the hardening of the mixture to a solid or semi-solid form, it is dangerous waste and the binding component are mixed with their mutual coating and penetration until a composition for granulation is obtained, with a volumetric ratio of hazardous waste to the binding component from 1:2 to 1:4, the resulting composition for granulation is formed in granules covered with a layer of waterproof substance, while as a covering waterproof substance, cement dust and Portland-type cement are added, in an amount not exceeding that necessary to increase the viscosity, but not less than 0.25 parts of Portland-type cement in the mixture, with by the volume ratio of the covering waterproof substance to the composition for granulation containing hazardous waste (1-1.5):(3-4), the process leads to the formation the production of a consolidated stable solid product having a protective shell in the form of a layer of a waterproof substance that completely covers the surface of the composition for granulation containing hazardous waste provides an opportunity to simplify the technological process and obtain as a final product a waterproof, solid and compact mass in the form of a granule, as a whole inert to atmospheric influences, in which hazardous substances in a bound form are immobilized in the matrix, and do not have contact with the environment.
In a preferred embodiment of the method, the mixture of hazardous waste and binding components contains, in a volume ratio, 1 part of Portland-type cement and 2 parts of a mixture of palygorskite and molasses for 1 part of hazardous waste.
The mixture described above, due to the fact that palygorskite saturated with molasses forms an upper layer after drying, which is practically waterproof, provides both binding of hazardous waste inside the mixture and an additional protective layer on the outside.
An expedient variant of the implementation of the method is the variant in which as a binder component is added production waste selected from the group containing cement dust, ash slag of thermal power plants, waste from incineration production, waste from blast furnace production, ash obtained from burning coal or fuel oil, or their combination
This provides an improvement in the binding properties of the mixture, and, in addition, at the same time provides an opportunity to dispose of solid industrial waste.
It is also expedient if the formation of the obtained composition for granulation into granules is carried out in drum mixers or plate mixers or high-speed mixers or vibrating mixers or fluidized bed apparatus or vortex bed apparatus.
Observance of the above conditions allows to ensure the process of formation of the received composition for granulation into granules, to form a protective shell in the form of a layer of waterproof substance that completely covers the surface of the composition for granulation containing hazardous waste.
Preferably, the method can be applied to hazardous waste, which must be selected from the group containing nitrogen, phosphorus, fluorine, chlorine, sulfur, and are solid or paste-like forms of pesticides or toxic chemicals, or their production waste.
The set of essential features of the technical solution as a whole ensures the creation of a method of processing hazardous waste suitable for ensuring the encapsulation process and further utilization of a wide range of hazardous waste containing nitrogen, phosphorus, fluorine, sulfur, sulfur, in particular pesticides that have become unusable or prohibited for use in the field conditions In addition, the proposed method allows to minimize the harmful impact of the final product on the environment.
The method of processing hazardous waste is carried out as follows.
1:1.Hazardous waste containing nitrogen, phosphorus, fluorine, chlorine, sulfur, for example, pesticides that have become unsuitable or prohibited for use and are harmful to the environment, are mixed with the natural clay mineral palyhorskite and waste from the processing of sugar beet with molasses, at a ratio of 1:1 .
Portland-type cement is also added to the mixture, in an amount not exceeding that necessary to ensure the hardening of the mixture to a solid or semi-solid form. The specified amount of Portland-type cement is determined experimentally, depending on the binding properties of the obtained palyhorskite clay.
1:4.Next, the hazardous waste and the binding component are mixed with their mutual coating and penetration to obtain a granulation composition with a volume ratio of hazardous waste to the binding component from 1:2 to 1:4.
The ratio in the mixture of hazardous waste to the binder component from 1:2 to 1:4 was obtained experimentally and provides the consistency of the composition necessary for granulation. At lower values, the resulting composition for granulation is dry, contains cavities and voids, breaks and crumbles relatively easily after drying, and has insufficient strength. At higher values, the composition for granulation is difficult to form, and the granules obtained after granulation are not strong enough.
As a possible and preferred option, the mixture of hazardous waste and binder components contains, in the volume ratio in the mixture, for 1 part of hazardous waste, 1 part of Portland-type cement and 2 parts of a mixture of palyhorskite and molasses.
In addition to the binder components mentioned above, it is also possible to add industrial waste to the mixture, in particular cement dust, ash slag of thermal power plants, waste from incineration production, waste from blast furnace production, ash obtained from burning coal or fuel oil, each separately or all together in a mixture. Accordingly, the amount of Portland-type cement added is adjusted, but it must be present in an amount not less than that required to ensure the mechanical strength and water resistance of the granules.
(1-1,5):(3-4),The resulting composition for granulation is transferred to granulation. When granulating, cement dust and Portland-type cement are added as a covering waterproofing substance, in an amount not exceeding that necessary to increase the viscosity, but not less than 0.25 parts of Portland-type cement in the mixture, with the volume ratio of the covering waterproofing substance to the composition for granulation containing hazardous waste (1-1.5): (3-4),
Preferably, the granulation process is carried out in drum, plate, high-speed or vibrating mixers. Encapsulation can also be carried out in devices with
With fluidized bed and vortex bed devices (ABS).
The granulation process leads to the formation of a consolidated stable solid product having a protective shell in the form of a layer of waterproof substance that completely covers the surface of the granulation composition containing hazardous waste.
The granules obtained as a result can, together with the hazardous waste encapsulated in them, be stored for a long enough time, safely transported, and subsequently relatively easily disposed of by processing them using fairly simple technological processes (in particular, incineration). However, if their further long-term storage is planned, it is also desirable to additionally pack the granules in airtight containers, such as bags.
