Abstract
The invention relates to smoking articles (10), including a segment of the strand of the smoking material (11) and attached to one of its ends filter (12) having at least two sections and wrapped in a porous wrapper filter, where the connection segment of the strand the smoking material and the filter is overlapped by the first rim wrapper (14) and at least one additional rim wrapper (15) is arranged around the filter spaced with the first rim wrapper and separated therefrom so that a portion of the porous filter wrapper is exposed between the first and at least one yeyu additional tipping wrapper porosity and tipping wraps usually less than wrappers filter. However, if the porosity of the rim wrappers is higher than the filter wrapper, the separation of the rim wrappers still retains its function.

The field of technology
The present invention belongs to smoking products and, in particular, to smoking products in which the content of specific components or groups of components of the main stream of smoke, measured by a smoking machine, is reduced.
Technical level
Typically, smoking products, such as cigarettes, include a section of tobacco rod in the form of a cylinder of tobacco or tobacco-based smoking material wrapped in a paper wrapper, which may be provided with a filter assembly. Initially, the filter unit is a cylindrical element formed from a filter material, for example, a bundle of cellulose acetate fibers, which includes, if necessary, elements for modifying the smoke flow and filtering function, for example, grooves and gaps, and additives, for example, carbon particles. The harness can be wrapped with a layer of filter wrapping paper, which helps maintain the cylindrical shape and structure of the filter material. The filter assembly is attached to a piece of tobacco rod (cigarette stick) with the help of a wrapping paper, which is an outer layer of paper wrapped around the filter assembly and such that it covers the junction between the filter assembly and the cigarette stick. The rim paper is fixed with glue.
зідебігеат 5токе).Tobacco smoke is a complex, variable mixture of more than 5,000 identified components, of which approximately 150 are officially recognized as undesirable. These components are found in the main stream of smoke (Me - from English Maipbzigeat 5toKe) inhaled by a smoker, and are also released between puffs as components of side smoke (55 - from English zidebigeat 5toke).
У 2001 р. До таких продуктів віднесені: (1) продукти, в яких значно знижений вплив одного або більше токсичних компонентів тютюну; і (2) якщо заявлено зниження ризику впливу, продукти, щодо яких є підстави очікувати зниження ризику виникнення одного або більше характерних захворювань чи інших негативних впливів на здоров'я (Зігайоп та ін., 2001 р).In 2001, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) reported that since smoking-related diseases are dose-dependent and epidemiological studies have shown a reduction in the risk of smoking-related diseases when smoking is stopped, it may be possible to reduce the risks associated with smoking by creating products with a potentially limited effect (PEER - from the English roiepiiaI gedisea-ehrozige rgodisO). Such products include: (1) products in which the influence of one or more toxic components of tobacco is significantly reduced; and (2) if a reduction in exposure risk is claimed, products for which there is reason to expect a reduction in the risk of one or more specific diseases or other adverse health effects (Zigayop et al., 2001).
Today there is no tobacco product that uses combustion that would meet the requirements formulated by the IOM.
Thus, there is a task of creating a smoking product, in the emissions of which all components of the main stream of smoke (M5), which are considered undesirable, are significantly reduced. However, individual measures to reduce certain components are usually not accompanied by reduction of other components and, in
In some cases, they even lead to an increase in their content.
In addition, it is also important to create a product that is acceptable to the consumer. The organoleptic effect of a conventional smoking product is largely determined by Mo components, as well as other factors, for example, pressure drop and the number of puffs. It was also established that some of the measures taken to reduce certain M5 components can reduce the satisfaction received by the smoker from the process.

Brief description of the drawings
Next, as specific examples, a description of the variants of the invention is given with reference to the attached drawings, in which: in fig. 1 schematically presents a type of smoking product according to an embodiment of the invention; in fig. 2 presents a view with a spatial separation of the details of the filter shown in fig. 1, illustrating its internal structure; in fig. 3 is a schematic view of a longitudinal section of a smoking product according to another embodiment of the invention; in fig. 4 briefly describes the process of preparing highly active carbon from a polymer; and in fig. 5 presents the results of measuring the ventilation flow for various ventilation systems.
Detailed description of the invention
This invention belongs to smoking products, the filter design of which has an improved ventilation system, which ensures a reduction in the content of toxic components while maintaining acceptable consumer characteristics.
According to some implementation options, a further reduction in the content of toxic components can be achieved by the simultaneous use with this filter of specially selected tobacco mixtures and (or) specially selected adsorbing filter additives. In addition, if desired, a new format of the entire smoking product can be used, which allows optimizing the effect of the filter design and other measures to reduce the content of toxic components to improve the consumer characteristics of the smoking product.
Якщо використовується вентиляція, то вона зазвичай являє собою отвори або канали, сформовані в ободковому папері, що забезпечують всмоктування оточуючого повітря у фільтр і розбавлення основного потоку диму (М5).In a standard or conventional cigarette, the filter and cigarette stick are connected by a rim wrapper that covers the filter along its entire length and adjoins the end of the cigarette stick. If ventilation is used, it is usually holes or channels formed in the rim paper, which ensure the suction of ambient air into the filter and dilution of the main stream of smoke (M5).
In embodiments of the present invention, the rim wrap does not cover the entire filter.
In contrast, the rim wrapper is divided and/or contains two or more bands. The first rim wrap closes the place of connection of the filter and the segment of the rod of smoking material, for example, for attaching the filter to the segment of the rod. At least one additional rim wrap surrounds another part of the filter spaced from the first rim wrap and separated from it so that a gap is formed between the first and at least one additional rim wrap. This gap exposes the filter area surrounded by a more porous material compared to the rim wraps. As a result, a filter section is formed, surrounded only by porous paper (filter wrapping paper), in which the diffusion of gases into and out of the filter area is improved. For example, gases such as CO (carbon monoxide) and NO (nitrogen oxide) can diffuse from the filter through this area of the filter. This so-called "separation of the rim wrap" can also improve the control of the level of ventilation at higher costs.
In fig. 1 and 2 show a smoking product 10, in accordance with an embodiment of the invention, containing a segment 11 of a smoking material rod and a filter 12. In one embodiment, a segment 11 of a smoking material rod is a cylinder of smoking tobacco or tobacco-based material enclosed in a paper sleeve
The segment 11 of the rod of smoking material is attached to the filter 12. In the presented embodiment, the first rim wrapper 14 covers the connection between the segment 11 of the rod of smoking material and the filter. This rim wrap 14 helps to attach the rod segment 11 to the filter 12. The filter at its mouth end 13 is surrounded by an additional rim wrap 15. The rim wraps 14, 15 are spaced from each other and separated by a gap 16. This gap 16 is a section of the filter that is not surrounded by a rim wrapper
In the presented embodiment, this section of the filter in the gap 16 is surrounded by an exposed porous filter wrapping paper.
In more detail, the design of the filter 12 is shown in Fig. 2, which represents a view with a spatial separation of details. The filter contains three separate filter sections 21a, 216, 21c. In the best version, each individual section 21a, 2165, 21c of the filter is different from the other. In order for each individual section 21a, 210, 21c of the filter to retain the necessary structure, they can be, in particular, wrapped with an individual inner wrapper 22a, 2260, 22c of the filter.
The folded ends of the three separately wrapped filter sections 21a, 216, 21c are further wrapped together by a single outer paper 23 for wrapping the filter, which fastens them as a single node. The outer wrap 23 of the filter is made of a porous material, and at least some of the individual inner wraps 22a, 2260, 22c of the filter may also be porous.
14,The filter 12 is attached to the cigarette stick 11 by the first rim wrap 14,
Z is wrapped around the cigarette stick 11 and the filter 12 so that it covers the junction between them. The rim wrap is fixed with glue.
14, 15.A second, separate rim wrap 15 is wrapped around the mouthpiece end 13 of the filter 12, remote from the cigarette stick 11, and spaced with the first rim wrap 14, with a gap 16 between them. The outer filter wrap 23 is exposed in the gap 16, forming a ventilation area in the filter section of the smoking article 10. The porosity of this filter section will be determined by the porosity of the outer filter wrap 23 and any inner filter wrap surrounding it in that area. The rim wraps preferably form areas of reduced porosity, compared to the porosity of the paper surrounding the filter section connected to the gap 16 between the rim wraps 14, 15.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in fig. 1 and 2, the filter 12 is presented in the form of three separated sections 21a, 216, 216. However, it should be understood that the scope of the invention covers options where the number of filter sections is more than three. Moreover, the invention is not intended to be limited to a design in which each individual filter section 21a, 216, 21c is initially wrapped around its own filter wrap 22a, 2260, 22c, and instead, the outer filter wrap 23 can hold all the filter sections together and support them. a better shape, for example, cylindrical.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 2, three sections 21a, 21p, 21c are not of the same size.
In the shown embodiment, the mouthpiece section 21c is shorter than the middle section 216, which, in turn, is shorter than the section 21a adjacent to the section of the rod of smoking material. In a private embodiment, the length of the mouthpiece section 21c is 7 mm, the length of the middle section 21r is 10 mm, and the length of the section 21a adjacent to the section of the smoking material rod is 20 mm.
11.The size and location of the first and second rim wraps 14, 15 are selected to expose a portion of the section 21a adjacent to the length of the rod of smoking material. The second rim wrap 15 at the mouthpiece end of the filter is wider than the first rim wrap 14. In the private version of the implementation shown in fig. 2, the first rim wrap covers an area 11 mm wide, covering the end of the smoking material rod segment and part of the adjacent filter section 21a. In particular, the first rim wrapper 14 can cover a 5 mm segment of the pipe of smoking material and b mm of the adjacent section 21a of the filter. The gap between 60 the first rim wrap 14 and the second rim wrap 15 in the shown embodiment is 10 mm. In addition, in the embodiment shown in fig. 2, the second rim wrap covers an area 21 mm wide at the mouthpiece end of the filter 12, covering the entire mouthpiece section 21c of the filter, the entire center section 2165 of the filter, and a portion (4 mm) of the section 21a of the filter, adjacent to the section of the pipe of smoking material. Thus, the gap 16 between the first and second rim wraps 14, 15 is combined with the part of the section 22a of the filter adjacent to the segment of the rod of the smoking material 11.
10.The scope of the claims of the invention allows for deviations from the smoking product 10 described above.
For example, more than two separate rim wraps may be used surrounding the filter and/or the smoking material rod section and may be arranged to form two or more gaps. The size (width) of the wrappers and their location can be changed to form gaps of variable width and different condition. In addition, the number and sizes of filter sections can also vary.
131.In fig. C presents an alternative version of the smoking product, in which the filter 112 additionally includes ventilation holes 131. The smoking product 110 contains the same components as the smoking product 10, shown in Fig. 2, except that it has vents 131.
The purpose of the vents is to let air into the filter when a smoker inhales a smoking product. Air mixes with the main stream of smoke and dilutes it and other components, drawn in through a filter from burning smoking material. A number of methods are currently used to make ventilation holes. Holes can be made in the rim wrapper before its winding with a mechanical or electric spark perforating device or a laser beam. Alternatively, a laser beam can be used to create holes after the smoking product is assembled, using an on-line system or such a system as part of a folding machine. In the latter case, holes are burned into the filter by a focused laser beam and therefore pass through the paper or paper wrapped around the filter (rim wrap and filter wrap) and into the material inside the filter.
The holes can be located along the length of the filter to modify the filtration and dilution, in particular, if the location of the holes of the community is related to individual
With multi-section filter components. It was found that in smoking products having the separation of rim wrappers described above, such separation improves the control of the level of ventilation at increased costs.
In fig. 5 presents the results of flow measurement for three different ventilation systems. Curve A presents the data for the tested cigarette, in which all the ventilation of the filter is provided by the separation of the rim wrappers with a gap of 20 mm. Curve B presents data for an industrial control cigarette with ventilation holes in the filter made by a laser as part of a folding machine (OMI - from the English op taspipe Iazeg). Curve C presents the data for the tested cigarette, in which part of the ventilation is provided by the separation of the rim wrappers with a gap (10 mm), and part - OMI. area on the filter.
According to the CO norms of smoking cigarettes, that is, with an average value of flow drawn through a cigarette equal to 17.5 cm3/s (or 1.050 l/min), the ventilation of the filter is measured as a percentage of the amount of air flowing through the ventilation holes on the filter cigarette, to the full puff volume, or average flow drawn through the cigarette. The obtained level of ventilation affects the content of resins, nicotine and CO extracted from the product, which is determined by the CO method. When consumers smoke cigarettes, they may take puffs of greater volume and/or greater consumption compared to norms.
5).ISO. Therefore, the content of substances received by the consumer from a regular cigarette may exceed that received by a smoking machine according to the ISO method. One of the reasons for such an increase in the number of released components is that the effective "ventilation through the filter" decreases at a consumption above the prescribed ISO (shown by curve B in Fig. 5). In a split rim wrapper ventilation system (without additional vents), in contrast, when the flow through the cigarette becomes greater than the ISO flow, the "effective ventilation" does not decrease to the extent that would be expected in conventional products. In fact, the relationship of flow to pressure drop across the "split region" is almost linear, that is, as the flow through the cigarette stick increases, the flow through the "split tip" increases almost to the same extent. Therefore, with more intense smoking, the decrease in "effective ventilation" is insignificant (see curve A in Fig. 5).
It should be obvious to those skilled in the art that the separation of the rim wrapper affects the amount of components obtained when smoked by a person or a machine in the event that the ventilation zone 60 is not blocked. This means that the separation of the rim wrap will not have an effect when using the intensive smoking mode (machine) of the Ministry of Health
Canada (Neaky Sapada Ipepze 5tokipad - NS).
As it is difficult to accurately predict the level of ventilation that can be achieved with just one split of the rim wrap, test samples were produced and a machine-mounted laser was used to fine tune the filter ventilation in the sample and achieve the ISO required component content (e.g. used in the construction of curve C in Fig. 5). This curve demonstrates the clear effect of separation of the rim wrap when using a combined ventilation system.
In the embodiment shown in fig. C, ventilation holes 131 burned by a focused laser beam (the laser in the cigarette machine) are located in a ring around the circumference of the filter 112. The holes pass through the rim wrap 115, through the underlying filter wrap 123 and any inner filter wrap, if used (not shown), and a short distance inside the filter array.
The vents can be arranged in a row or occupy an area around the circumference of the filter, at a distance of about 11 to 16 mm from the mouthpiece end of the filter. In the presented private embodiment, the ventilation holes 131 are at a distance of 13 mm from the mouthpiece end 113 of the filter 112. This means that the ventilation holes 131 are aligned with the central section 1216 of the filter.
Laser-enhanced vents are typically about 1 to 2 mm deep, although they may extend further into the filter array to be deeper than 2 mm, e.g., 2 to 3.5 mm, and/or as deep as to a lesser extent 2595 filter diameter, or even from up to 5095 filter diameter. In some embodiments, the smoking article has at least one vent that extends into the filter through the wrapping paper and any filter wrap. The hole can pass to such a depth that the air drawn in through the ventilation hole 25 enters the central area of the filter. Alternatively, one or more openings used may be positioned to control the passage of dilution air through the filter. For example, the holes can have different depths, or can be combined with given parts of the filter.
Conventional cigarettes typically include a bundle of cellulose acetate (CA) as a quality
From the filter material. Cellulose acetate is usually treated with plasticizers that bind adjacent fibers at their points of contact, giving the fiber bundle increased strength and structural integrity. Suitable plasticizers for this purpose include triacetin (glycerol triacetate), triethyl citrate (TEC), and PEG 400 (low molecular weight polyethylene glycol). Plasticized cellulose acetate tow is also known to improve the selective removal of semi-volatile compounds present in smoke (eg, phenol, o-cresol, p-cresol, and t-cresol). In some embodiments of the invention, the mouthpiece section of the filter (in Fig. 1 has the designation 21c) includes or mainly consists of a cellulose acetate tow, and preferably this tow is a plasticized cellulose acetate tow.
While the fibrous filter material can reduce particulate matter along with resins and nicotine, there is virtually no selective reduction. Moreover, since cellulose acetate fibers have little or no effect on volatile compounds, increased filtration efficiency increases their relative abundance compared to resins and nicotine. However, the presence of a cellulose acetate filter section may increase the consumer appeal of the smoking products of the present invention, particularly when the cellulose acetate filter section is located at the mouthpiece end of the filter.
To further improve the absorption characteristics of the filter of smoking products, porous adsorbents can be added to remove some volatile components from the main stream of smoke. Activated carbon (AC) is widely used in cigarette filters, which is a non-selective adsorbent that can significantly reduce the content of a large number of volatile components through physical adsorption.
НідпThe adsorption characteristics of porous carbon can be enhanced by treating the porous carbon surface to obtain the so-called highly active carbon (NAS - from the English Nidp
Asiimiu Sagrop). Thus, in some embodiments of the invention, at least one section of the filter contains highly activated carbon.
Highly active carbon can be introduced into the filter section of the smoking product into the cavity, or distributed (in chaotic spots) through the insert of the filter material (for example, cellulose acetate). In some embodiments, highly activated carbon can be applied to the inner surface of the (inner) filter wrap of the filter section, because it is located between the filter wrap and the filter material insert.
In some embodiments, the section of the filter adjacent to the section of the rod of the smoking material (in Fig. 1 has the designation 21a) contains highly activated carbon. In some embodiments, the filter section contains from 20 to 80 mg, preferably about 50 mg, of highly activated carbon.
Highly activated carbon can be obtained from a polymer. For example, it can be a porous carbon granular material obtained from polystyrene.
В одній з різновидів високоактивного вуглецю, який може бути використаний в курильних виробах згідно винаходу, використовуються по суті сферичні частинки вуглецю, одержані з полімеру із застосуванням власної технології (Моп Віиспег апа Ое Кийег 2004; Моп Віиспег еї еї 2006; Вопгіпдег апа Ріспіпег 2008), які поставляються компанією Віиспег СтрнН (Німеччина).In one of the varieties of highly active carbon, which can be used in smoking products according to the invention, essentially spherical carbon particles are used, obtained from a polymer using our own technology (Mop Viyspeg apa Oe Kiyeg 2004; Mop Viyspeg ei ei 2006; Vopgipdeg apa Rispipeg 2008) , which are supplied by Viispeg StrnN (Germany).
These polymer-derived granules of highly activated carbon have a porous structure that differs from the structure of the carbon commonly used in manufactured cigarettes, which is typically obtained from coconut shells. As a result, they have improved adsorption characteristics for a wide range of volatile toxic components of smoke.
The polymer-derived carbon shows good results in ISO and NSI smoking regimes with regular and reduced diameter cigarettes, although some limitations were observed in the removal of acetaldehyde in high flow smoking conditions.
4.The process used to obtain carbon from the polymer is described in Fig. 4.
Activated carbon from the polymer is obtained by a periodic process in a furnace that rotates with indirect heating at reduced pressure in an inert atmosphere. After the preparation of granules of polymer raw material, the material is thermally stabilized with an excess of fuming sulfuric acid. Then the material is slowly heated to 500"C, while the main part is released
ZO" and HO and coking of the polymer occurs. The resulting carbon initially has a pore system that is inaccessible to typical adsorbents. To create a porous system suitable for adsorption purposes, the material is further heated to a temperature of approximately 900-100070 for activation by oxidizing agents (water vapor). At the same time, a pore system appears, consisting mainly of micropores with a pore size from 0.7 to 3 nm. Further activation with the help of COg leads to the formation of better and larger mesopores with a size from 3 to 80 nm.
The combination of activation steps using water vapor and CO2 represents a flexible technology
From obtaining the necessary characteristics of pores.
Carbon obtained from polymers, being a synthetic material, has a more regular spherical shape and a more uniform particle size. The carbon obtained from polymers has a lower density and gives less ash due to the synthetic nature of the raw material, compared to natural coconut shell, as the starting materials of carbonization processes.
(15-3095).Most of the smoke constituents in the ISO test mode are more effectively adsorbed by polymer-derived carbon than by activated coconut carbon, providing 80-9595 reductions in smoke constituents, with the exception of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, hydrocyanic acid (HOM), and toluene (a 50 -6095). In NS modes, regular coco carbon cigarettes provide a 25-4595 reduction for most smoke constituents except acetaldehyde (1695). Cigarettes that contain polymer-derived carbon reduce the content of most smoke components by 60-9095, except for acetic aldehyde and NSM (15-3095).
Removal of toxins from the main stream of smoke is also possible with the help of chemical adsorption, including those with high volatility of aldehydes and HSM. The amine-functionalized resin provides the possibility of nucleophilic capture of aldehydes from the main stream smoke, and due to its weakly basic nature, can also be used to remove HCM from this smoke.
Thus, in some embodiments of the invention, at least one section of the filter contains an ion exchange resin. The ion exchange resin has a surface-activated amine that can effectively attach to some aldehyde components and hydrogen cyanide in the vapor phase.
The material of functionalized amine resin can be introduced into the cavity of the filter section of the smoking product, or distributed (in chaotic spots) along the insert of the filter material (for example, cellulose acetate). In some embodiments, the amine-functionalized resin may be applied to the inner surface of the (inner) filter wrap of the filter section, positioned between the filter wrap and the filter media insert.
In one possible design, 5 to 40 mg, preferably about 20 mg, of amine-functionalized resin is placed in the central section of the filter.
There are granules of an amine-functionalized ion-exchange resin of the OPOILIOMeSK20 type on the market (manufactured by Miizibiepi Spetis! Sogrogaiiop). It contains a polyamine group as chelating ligands, which are attached to a cross-linked polystyrene matrix with high porosity. because C20 shows a strong chemical affinity with transition metal ions. The specific type of amine groups formed by functionalization cannot be precisely controlled, so different types of amine groups can exist on resins.
It was established that commercial grade SK20 (hereinafter referred to as SK20C) when added to cigarettes has a characteristic smell that is incompatible with the user-acceptable nature of the smoke of an ordinary cigarette. However, by modifying the synthesis conditions, Miiziriepiyi significantly reduced the intensity of this smell, obtaining the grade SK20 with a weak smell (hereinafter referred to as SK20ОЙ). In this paper, unless otherwise stated, all results obtained are for SK20Y.. This material contains granules with a size of 600 nm, a density of 0.64 g/cm3, a moisture content of 1595 and a total exchange capacity of 0.92 milligram-equivalent/cm3 ( Sogrogayop produces various other types of SC20 material, including SC200 and SC2ONO, which may be suitable for use in smoking products.
Some SC20 granules are supplied in water, and in order to make them suitable for use in cigarette filters, it may be necessary to remove at least some of the water. In some embodiments, the water is removed and the material is dried to a moisture content of 1595 or less. In alternative embodiments, a higher moisture content is also acceptable for smoking product filters.
Material SC20, including in particular SC20OYI, can be introduced into the filters of smoking products proposed in this invention. Compared to filters containing ordinary carbon, SK20Y. provides an excellent reduction in the content of NSM, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde.
In some embodiments of the present invention, smoking products have a new format. This may be due, in part, to placing a longer filter, according to some of the embodiments described herein. For example, in some embodiments, smoking articles have three or more filter sections with a total length of approximately 37 mm, a rim wrap length (ie, the distance from the mouthpiece end of the smoking article to the far edge of the rim wrap) of 42 mm. The length of the filter of ordinary elongated cigarettes ("Kipod 5i7e"), as a rule, is from 15 to 27 mm. The increased length of the filter of some of the smoking products proposed in the present invention gives a double effect of improved smoke filtration due to a longer stay of the smoke in the filter, and a smaller amount of burned smoking material due to a shortened length of the pipe rod segment
From the material.
In some embodiments, the length of the filter is at least 30 mm, 31 mm, 32 mm, 33 mm, 34 mm, or at least 35 mm. Alternatively or additionally, the filter may be no longer than 50 mm, 49 mm, 48 mm, 47 mm, 46 mm, 45 mm, 44 mm, 43 mm, 42 mm, 41 mm or no longer than 40 mm. To compensate for such a reduction in the length of the smoking material rod segment, a slow-burning paper wrapper can be used to wrap it. This allows the user to take the same number of puffs with the smoking product as with a smoking product with a regular length of smoking material rod.
In alternative embodiments, the smoking product may use a length of smoking material rod length that is the same or similar in length to the length of the smoking material rod length in a conventional cigarette. As a result of using a longer filter, the smoking product will be longer than a regular cigarette.
In some versions, the smoking product has a so-called "ChZeti vyit" (reduced thickness) has a circumference of 21 mm, compared to the standard circumference of a "Kipd 5i72e" cigarette, which is 24.6 mm. Smoking products can have a standard length of "Kipd 5i7e", which is equal to 83 mm (including the length of the rod of smoking material and the filter).
In addition to the modification of the filter of smoking products to further reduce the content of toxic components in the main stream of smoke, other technologies belonging to the smoking material can be used to complement the effects of the filter, or to balance them, if this
Because it is necessary.
A description of processed tobacco mixtures is given, in which, due to processing, protein and polyphenol have been removed from tobacco, which has a favorable effect on the content of toxic components in smoke.
Вієпі ТгеаїейTobacco processing can be performed on cut tobacco of pipe fire drying. Briefly, the tobacco mixture is subjected to water extraction followed by two stages of extract filtration to remove polyphenols and soluble peptides. The rest of the solid part of the tobacco is treated with protease to remove insoluble proteins. After washing and deactivating the enzymes, the solid part of the tobacco and the filtered aqueous extract are combined. As a result of the processing, a material is obtained, called here tobacco of complex processing (VTT - from the English Viepi Tgeaiei
Torasso), which ensures a reduced content of phenols, aromatic amines, HSM and a number of other nitrogenous components of smoke. Here, however, there is an increase in the content of formaldehyde and isoprene.
Tobacco of complex processing preserves the structure of the original tobacco and can be introduced into the segments of the rod of smoking material for inclusion in the composition of smoking products, using technological equipment for the production of ordinary cigarettes, without the need for conversion into sheet material.
In some embodiments of the invention, the smoking material contains tobacco of complex processing.
For extraction, broken, cut, hidden or ground tobacco can be used. In some embodiments, the tobacco is hidden tobacco. Tobacco in other forms can also be extracted using the methods described herein.
27:1.The tobacco material may be mixed with an extracting solvent to form a slurry. The solvent may be added to the tobacco material in a weight ratio of from 10:1 to 50:11, preferably from 20:11 to 40:1, and most preferably from 25:1 to 30:1. In one embodiment, the solvent is added to the tobacco material in a weight ratio of 27:1.
The solvent can be an organic solution, preferably an aqueous solution or water. At the very beginning of the extraction process, the solvent is usually water, although the solvent may also contain alcohols, such as ethanol or methanol, or may contain a surfactant. Other solvents may be used, depending on the specific components extracted from the tobacco.
Extraction can be performed at a temperature of about 15-85"C, preferably at about 65"C. Preferably, the suspension is continuously stirred during the extraction process so that the tobacco remains in suspension. The duration of extraction should be from 15 minutes to two hours. In a preferred embodiment, the extraction takes approximately 20 minutes.
In the extraction process, soluble components of tobacco are removed from the tobacco material and enter the solution. These components include nicotine, sugars, some proteins, amino acids, pectins, polyphenols and flavorings. Up to 5595 of the initial weight of tobacco can be removed into the solution. It is important that the pectins in the tobacco fiber remain cross-linked throughout the extraction and processing process, preserving the fibrous structure of the tobacco. Accordingly, calcium may be added to the solvent used to extract the tobacco and to any solutions used in subsequent processing procedures.
After extraction, the slurry can be filtered to collect the liquid filtrate ("mother filtrate"). After that, the insoluble remainder of the tobacco can be further extracted by countercurrent washing, to remove as much of the soluble constituents from the tobacco as possible.
The tobacco is exposed to a fresh solvent, and the filtrate ("washing filtrate") is collected.
The washing filtrate can repeatedly affect incoming tobacco residues at the entrance of the belt filter that carries it. The collection and repeated exposure of the washing filtrate to the incoming tobacco at the entrance of the belt filter can be repeated several times, preferably three, four or even five times. Thus, the final washing filtrate collected in the main part of the belt filter can have a high concentration of those soluble tobacco components that were extracted from the tobacco residues as they pass along the entire length of the filter. The final wash filtrate can then be reused by adding to a fresh batch of tobacco to form a suspension ready for extraction. For example, the final wash filtrate can be added before extraction to a mixing tank where the tobacco suspension is formed. The extraction process, therefore, can be a continuous process in which fresh tobacco is extracted to regenerate the filtrate. Only at the very beginning of this extraction process is the tobacco extracted with a fresh solvent. When the extraction process is started, no fresh solvent is used for extraction, but a solvent consisting only of the reused washing filtrate.
Ці компоненти включають ті, що потрапили в розчин при первинному екстрагуванні в екстракційній ємності (що формує материнський фільтрат), а також і ті, що потрапили в розчин при вторинному екстрагуванні на горизонтальному стрічковому фільтрі (формуючому промивний фільтрат).As the extraction process continues, the concentration of soluble tobacco components in the extract becomes higher. These components include those dissolved in the primary extraction in the extraction vessel (forming the mother filtrate) and those dissolved in the secondary extraction on the horizontal belt filter (forming the wash filtrate).
The final filtrate thus contains both mother and wash filtrates.
The tobacco residue obtained as a result of filtration does not contain those components that dissolve in the solvent used for filtration. At the end of filtration, the extracted tobacco can be squeezed to remove excess liquid from it. The extracted tobacco coming out of the horizontal belt filter usually has the appearance of a dehydrated layer.
The final filtrate, hereafter referred to as tobacco extract, may then be subjected to processing to remove those components that are undesirable in the composition of the final tobacco product. Unwanted components include proteins, polypeptides, amino acids, polyphenols, nitrates, amines, nitrosamines and coloring compounds. The content of components that are considered desirable, such as sugar and nicotine, may, however, remain unchanged, so the taste and smoking properties of extracted tobacco are comparable to these characteristics of the starting material.
In a preferred embodiment, processing of the tobacco extract is performed to remove proteins, polypeptides and (or) amino acids. Up to 6095 proteins contained in the original tobacco material can be removed using an insoluble adsorbent such as hydroxyapatite or a fuller's earth mineral such as attapulgite or bentonite. Tobacco extract is better treated with bentonite to remove its 3 polypeptides. Bentonite can be added to the extract in the amount of 2-4 wt. 90 of the initially extracted tobacco. Alternatively, the tobacco extract can be fed into a container containing a suspension of bentonite in water. A suitable slurry contains about 7 kg of bentonite in about 64 kg of water (quantity per hour), for example, 7.13 kg of bentonite in 64.18 kg of water (quantity per hour). In each case, the concentration of bentonite should be high enough to significantly reduce the protein content of the tobacco extract, but not so high as to further absorb nicotine from the extract. Bentonite treatment can also be effective in removing the coloring compounds present in the tobacco extract, which, if not removed, darken the extract as the concentration increases. When enough bentonite is used to process the extract, reducing the amount of coloring compounds allows you to get a product that is not too dark. After treatment with bentonite, the tobacco extract can be purified from the suspension by centrifugation and (or) filtration. Tobacco extract may also, or alternatively, be processed to remove polyphenols from it.
An insoluble adsorbent for polyphenols is polyvinylpolypyrrolidone (PVPP), traditionally used in the brewing industry to remove polyphenols from beer. PVPP in the amount of 5-10 mass of initially extracted tobacco can be added to the extract. This amount of PVPP is sufficient to remove from 50 to 9095 polyphenols in solution. It is believed that the optimal value of the hydrogen pH indicator of the medium for removing polyphenols from
From the tobacco extract using PVPP there is 3. The efficiency of adsorption using PVPP can therefore be increased by lowering the pH of the extract by adding a suitable acid, for example hydrochloric acid.
As an alternative to using PVPP to absorb polyphenols, one or more enzymes can be added to the tobacco extract to break down the polyphenols present there. The corresponding enzyme is laccase (urushiol oxidase). The invention, however, is not limited to means of removing only proteins and (or) polyphenols from tobacco. Alternative or additional enzymes, agents or adsorbents may be used to remove other undesirable tobacco components from the tobacco extract. Examples of other undesirable tobacco components that can be removed from the extract include nitrates, amines, and nitrosamines.
If multiple components are to be removed from the tobacco extract, multiple vessels must be set up in series, each containing its own enzyme, reagent, or adsorbent, to remove a selected additional element of unwanted components. Alternatively, several enzymes, reagents or adsorbents can be contained in one container so that unwanted components can be removed in one step. For example, a container containing bentonite or PVPP could contain one or more additional enzymes, reagents or adsorbents to remove not only protein or phenols from the tobacco, but one or more other undesirable components.
б9о5.After processing the tobacco extract to remove selected undesirable tobacco components, the extract is preferably concentrated to a solids concentration of 20 to 50 mabs.b9o5.
A solids concentration of up to 1095 can be achieved by reverse osmosis. A further concentration of solids up to about 4095 can be achieved using a solution falling film evaporator. Other methods of increasing concentration, known to specialists, can be used. Next, the concentrated tobacco extract can be combined again with the extracted tobacco.
Tobacco extracted in an aqueous solution, as shown above, is preferably subjected to further extraction to remove one or more other undesirable components, before combining it with the concentrated tobacco extract. Further extraction of tobacco can be performed with the help of an enzyme specially selected for the removal of a specific component. In a preferred embodiment, the enzyme is a proteolytic enzyme
30:1.(protease) to remove protein from tobacco. Preferably, the enzyme is a bacterial or fungal enzyme and, more preferably, is a commercially used enzyme in the food industry and in the manufacture of detergents. The enzyme can be selected from the group consisting of the enzymes Zamipase Mm, Meshchigase M, Eplorake M, and Aylsaylase M, all of which are supplied by the company Momo7ute5z A/5. The proteolytic enzyme is preferably added to tobacco in an amount from 0.1 to 5 wt.9% of tobacco material, for example, Zamipase"M can be added to tobacco in an amount of approximately 1 wt.9%. From tobacco, a suspension can be prepared anew in a solution of the selected Enzyme The weight ratio between water and tobacco in the suspension should be from 10:1 to 50:1, preferably from 20:1 to 4071, and more preferably from 25:1 to 30:1.
271.In the most preferred embodiment, the weight ratio between water and tobacco should be 271.
The hydrogen pH of the tobacco/enzyme mixture should be such that optimal enzyme activity is ensured. Accordingly, it may be convenient to add the dehydrated layer of tobacco to a container in which the pH is adjusted, for example, by adding a base, for example, sodium hydroxide. The tobacco with the set pH value can then be introduced into the enzyme dosing container for mixing with the selected enzyme. The mixture of tobacco and enzyme can then be fed into a perfect displacement reactor where enzyme extraction is performed.
Enzymatic extraction should be performed at a temperature that ensures optimal enzyme activity. In the best option, a narrow temperature range should be used, for example, 30-40"С, in order to avoid denaturation of the enzyme. The optimal working conditions in the case that the selected enzyme bamipase "M" is 57"С and the pH value is equal to 9-11. Enzymatic extraction should be carried out for at least 45 minutes; shorter times are considered insufficient for the proteolytic enzyme to break down the tobacco proteins.
Of course, if it is necessary to remove several components from tobacco, then extraction with several enzymes should be used. Such extraction must be carried out sequentially, or several enzymes must be mixed with the tobacco in one processing operation.
It is also possible to add an enzyme at the very first step of the extraction process
From processing, instead of using a separate extraction step afterwards.
After enzymatic extraction, insoluble tobacco residues can be washed with a saline solution, preferably a sodium chloride solution, to rinse out the enzyme. Saline rinsing can be performed sequentially, in countercurrent.
However, salt and water rinsing may not be enough to completely remove all enzymes from tobacco. The washed tobacco may also be treated to deactivate any residual enzyme retained in the tobacco after the salt and water wash. This can be accomplished by steaming long enough to deactivate the enzyme, but not so long that the tobacco loses its fibrous structure. In an embodiment, the steam treatment is performed at a temperature of approximately 987C for approximately four minutes, however, if desired, the exposure time may be increased to approximately 10 minutes. Alternatively, to deactivate the enzyme, the tobacco can be subjected to heat treatment, for example, microwave heating or drying the tobacco in an oven. In another embodiment, the enzyme can be deactivated by chemical denaturation, while measures must be taken to remove the chemical drug from the tobacco.
Next, the processed tobacco can be combined again with the concentrated tobacco extract.
When the processed tobacco extract is introduced back into the extracted tobacco, it ensures the preservation of the water-soluble taste components of the tobacco and nicotine in the final product. As a result of this combination, a tobacco product is obtained, which has a physical form and appearance, taste and smoking properties similar to the original material, but with a significantly reduced level of prostheses, polyphenols or other selected components. The combination can be achieved by spraying tobacco extract on the tobacco. The amount of the original extract combined with the processed tobacco depends on the amount lost during the processing of the extract to remove the selected components, and may be different for different types of tobacco.
A standard drying process can be used to dry the processed tobacco, which is performed before, during, or after combining with the processed tobacco extract.
The initial moisture content of cured tobacco is usually about 70-8095. In a preferred embodiment, the moisture content after drying should be about 1495. To reduce the initial moisture content of the tobacco to about 3095, a heated drying device such as a belt dryer may be used. A second heated drying device, such as an air dryer, can be used to further reduce the moisture content to about 1495.
The final dried product can then be processed to obtain a final form, for example a sheet, which, after grinding, can form a cigarette filler in whole or in part. Due to the fact that up to 30905 of the initial amount of tobacco components was removed from it in the process of extraction and processing, the concentration of the remaining components per unit weight of tobacco in the final product is increased, compared to the starting material. These components include cellulose, which, together with sugars and starches, can form harmful volatile materials in the smoke when burned, such as acetaldehyde and formaldehyde.
Another approach to reducing the content of toxic components in smoke consists in diluting the smoke with glycerin, which can be done by forming the so-called "substitute tobacco leaf" (T55 - from the English Tobasso 5,ІіБб5іше 5Ппееі), which includes a large part of glycerin, for example, up to 60 wt. 9uo Analysis of the main stream of cigarette smoke, including such 55 in the smoking material, demonstrates a decrease in the content of most of the measured components, except for some volatile species.
In some embodiments of the invention, the smoking material contains a tobacco leaf substitute.
The introduction of a tobacco leaf substitute (T55) into the tobacco mixture reduces the amount of tobacco in the cigarette, thereby contributing to a further reduction in the possibility of the formation of toxic substances in the cigarette. When heated, the glycerin contained in the T55 is released into the smoke stream, increasing the total number of smoke particles, which is measured as non-nicotine dry solids (MEORM - from the English pisoiipe-itee agu ragisciaee taieg, also known as "resins"). .
Because most cigarettes are designed to satisfy a certain content value
MEORM, the introduction of glycerin into the smoke stream effectively reduces the share of tobacco combustion products in the total value of MEORM. This process is called "dilution". The introduction of T55 into smoking products reduces the content of a large number of smoke components, including both solid particles and toxic components in the vapor phase. Laboratory toxicological tests showed a decrease in the activity of solid smoke particles in proportion to their ratio with glycerol. The impact of nicotine on the human body was reduced by an average of 1,895, according to measurements
From filtration, and by 1495 according to the results of daily analysis of urine biomarkers. Exposure to smoke particulate matter was reduced by 2995, according to filtration measurements, and by the same amount based on urinary concentrations of 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanol. These results show that reducing exposure to some toxic components of smoke is possible when using a tobacco leaf substitute.
In some embodiments, the smoking product includes a tobacco leaf substitute that includes a non-combustible inorganic filler material, a binder (eg, an algin binder) and aerosol generation means.
In a preferred embodiment, the tobacco leaf substitute contains, as its main components, a non-combustible inorganic filler, binder, and aerosol generating means, preferably comprising at least 85 mb.90 of the tobacco leaf substitute material, preferably more than 9095, and even more preferably, about 9495 or more wt.95 of tobacco leaf substitute material. These three components may even constitute 10095 of the tobacco leaf substitute material. The remaining components, preferably, can be one or more dyes, fibers, such as wood fiber, or, for example, flavoring. Other secondary constituent materials should be known to specialists. The tobacco leaf substitute material is thus a fairly simple leaf from the point of view of its composition.
As used herein, the term "substitute tobacco leaf material" means a material that can be used in a smoking product. This does not necessarily mean that the material itself will necessarily support combustion. The tobacco leaf substitute material is usually made in the form of a leaf, which is then cut. The tobacco leaf substitute material can be mixed with other materials to produce filler smoking material.
6.In some embodiments, the smoking article includes a wrapped segment of the rod of filler smoking material, in which the filler smoking material consists of a mixture that includes a tobacco leaf substitute material, contains a non-combustible inorganic filler, an algin binder, and an aerosol generating means, while the smoking article has a ratio aerosol transfer efficiency exceeding 4.0. In this description, aerosol transfer efficiency is measured as the percentage of aerosol in the smoke divided by the percentage of aerosol in the filler smoking material. It is better, because the efficiency of aerosol transfer is more than 5, more is better, it exceeds 6.
The smoking material used in the smoking products of the present invention may contain a mixture consisting of more than 75% by weight of tobacco leaf substitute material.
Preferably, the inorganic filler material is in the range of 60-9095, more preferably, more than 7095 of the final sheet material. In a preferred embodiment, the inorganic filler material is approximately 78% by weight of the final sheet material, but may be present in greater amounts, for example, 80, 85 or 90% by weight of the final sheet material.
In some embodiments, the non-combustible filler preferably contains part of the material with particles having an average size in the range of 500 to 75 μm, or in the range of 400 to 100 μm, the average particle size of more than 125 μm, or more than 150 μm. In some cases, it is preferable that the average particle size is about 170 μm, or in the range of 170 to 200 μm.
This particle size differs from the size of those commonly used in inorganic fillers of food brands in alternative tobacco products, namely 2-3 microns. The particle size range observed for each individual inorganic filler can be from 1 µm to 1 mm (1000 µm). The inorganic filler material can be ground, crushed or crystallized to the required particle size.
The inorganic filler material can be one or more materials from the group consisting of perlite, aluminum oxide, diatomaceous earth, calcium carbonate (chalk), vermiculite, magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate, zinc oxide, calcium sulfate (gypsum), iron oxide, pumice stone, titanium dioxide, calcium aluminate or other insoluble aluminates, or other inorganic filler materials. The density of these materials can be in the range from 0.1 to 5.7 g/cm3. In some embodiments, the inorganic filler material has a density of less than C g/cm3, less than 2.5 g/cm, less than 2.0 g/cm? or less than 1.5 g/cm3. It may be better to use an inorganic filler with a density of less than 1 g/cm. A lower density of inorganic filler reduces the density of the product, improving the characteristics of the ash.
If a combination of inorganic fillers is used, one or more of the fillers may preferably have small particle size and the other may have
From the larger particle size, with the proportion of each filler selected to achieve the desired average particle size. The static burning rate required in the finished smoking product can be obtained by using an appropriate blend of tobacco and tobacco leaf substitute material in the filler smoking material.
In some embodiments, the inorganic filler material does not have an agglomerated form. Before use, the inorganic filler material should be subjected to little pretreatment, except perhaps for grading. The binding material can be used in the range of approximately 5-13 wt.90, less than 10 wt.9U5 or less than 8 wt.90 of the final filler material. The binding material may be approximately 7.5% or less by weight of the final sheet material. If the binder is a mixture of alginate and non-alginate binders, the binder may contain at least 5095 alginate, at least 6095 alginate, or at least 7095 alginate. The amount of combined binder required can be correspondingly reduced when a non-alginate binder is used. The amount of alginate in the combined binder is better increased with a decrease in the amount of combined binder. Suitable alginate binders include soluble alginates, for example, ammonium alginate, sodium alginate, sodium-calcium alginate, calcium-ammonium alginate, potassium alginate, magnesium alginate, triethanolamine alginate, and propylene glycol alginate. Other organic binders, such as cellulose binders, gums or gels, can also be used in combination with alginate binders. Suitable cellulosic binders include cellulose and cellulose derivatives, for example sodium carboxymethylcellulose, methylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose or cellulose ethers. Suitable resins include gum arabic, ghatti gum, tragacanth gum, caraway gum, carob fruit, acacia, guar, quince seed or xanthan gum. Suitable gels include agar, agarose, red algae, furoidan and furcellaran. Starches can also be used as organic binders. Other relevant gums can be selected from reference books, for example, Ipaizigiia!IP szitv5, E. UMPizeg (ed. Asadetis Rgez5). As the main part of the binding material, it is better to use alginate binding materials.
The use of alginates in the invention is better due to their neutral taste characteristics when burned.
In some embodiments, the aerosol generation means are in the range of 5 to 2095, or are included in an amount of less than 1595, more than 795, and (or) more than 1095. In a private embodiment, the aerosol generation means are less than 1395. In embodiments, the generation means aerosol is from 11 to 13 wt.9o or approximately 11, 25 wt.95, or 12.5 wt.9o of the final sheet material. Preferably, the amount of aerosol generating means is selected in combination with the amount of tobacco material that should be in the mixture, which is the filling smoking material of the smoking product. For example, in a mixture with a high percentage of sheet material with a low content of tobacco material, it is necessary to reduce the amount of aerosol generating means in the sheet material. Alternatively, in a mixture with a low content of sheet material with a high proportion of tobacco material, it will be necessary to introduce more aerosol generating means into the sheet material.
Suitable means of generating an aerosol include means of forming an aerosol selected from the group containing polyhydric alcohols, for example glycerin, propylene glycol and triethylene glycol; ethers, such as triethyl citrate or triacetin, high-boiling hydrocarbons, or non-polyols, such as glycols, sorbitol, or lactic acid. A combination of means of generating an aerosol can also be used.
An additional function of aerosol generation means is plasticization of sheet material. Suitable additional plasticizers include water. Sheet material can be better ventilated. At the same time, the cast suspension forms a sheet material with a cellular structure.
In the best version, the aerosol generating means or part thereof can be enclosed in capsules, preferably in microcapsules, or stabilized in some other way. In such cases, the number of aerosol generating means may be higher than in the above intervals.
In a preferred embodiment, the smoking material contains a dye to add a darker tone to the material, and (or) a flavoring agent to add a special flavor. Suitable colorants, subject to local legislation, may include, for example, molasses and malt extract. Finely ground, granulated or homogenized tobacco can also be used. Also allowed for industrial use can be used
Food dyes are used, for example E150a (caramel), E151 (black VM dye), E153 (vegetable charcoal) or E155 (brown NT). Suitable flavors include, for example, menthol and vanillin. Other shell materials may also be suitable. Alternatively, the presence of vermiculite or other inorganic filler material may add a darker shade to the tobacco leaf substitute material. The dye content can be from 0 to 10 wt. 9o, | can be up to 5-7 wt.9% of the final material of the tobacco leaf substitute. In some embodiments, the dye content is less than 795, less than 695, or less than 595 of the final tobacco leaf substitute material. In some embodiments, the amount of dye used is less than 495, less than 395, or less than 295. For example, the caramel content may preferably be in the range of 0-5 wt.% or less than about 2 wt.% of the final tobacco leaf substitute material, or about 1,595. Other suitable colorants may include molasses, malt extract, coffee extract, tea flavor extracts, St. John's wort (carob pods), prune extract, or tobacco extract. Mixtures of dyes can also be used.
If not contrary to local law, flavorings may be added to alter the taste and aroma of the tobacco leaf substitute material. It is better if in the alternative variant food coloring is used, its content is 0.5 wt.9U5 or less of the final material of the tobacco leaf substitute. Alternatively, after the sheet is made, a powder dye can be introduced into it.
To add sheet material of greater strength or lower density or higher
BO filling capacity, or these characteristics in combination, can be added fibers, for example, cellulose fibers, for example, wood fiber, flax fiber, hemp fiber or bast fiber. When adding fibers, their content can be from 0.5 to 10 wt. 90, in an amount less than 5 wt. 9U5, or less than 3 wt. 95 of the final sheet material. Preferably, the sheet material is free of fibrous material, cellulosic or otherwise.
In some embodiments, the tobacco sheet substitute material is a sheet that does not contain tobacco. It should be understood that with a high content of sheet material in the mixture, for example, more than 75 wt.95 of the mixture, the mixture does not burn well. This can be overcome, for example, by adding a small amount, up to 5-1095, of granular carbon to the tobacco leaf substitute material.
This carbon is preferably not an agglomerated carbon material, that is, this carbon has not been pretreated by mixing with another material to form an agglomerate.
Наповнювальна здатність такого матеріалу зазвичай становить в інтервалі від 6 до 9 см3/г (див., наприклад, СВ 1484536 або 05 4340073).In some embodiments, the tobacco leaf substitute material is mixed with the tobacco material to produce the filler smoking material. Preferably, the components of the tobacco material in the mixture are high quality leaf tobacco. Preferably, the majority of the tobacco material is cut tobacco. The tobacco material may contain from 20 to 10095 of expanded tobacco of a high degree of fluffing, for example, expanded using dry ice (DIE). The filling capacity of such material is usually in the range from 6 to 9 cm3/g (see, for example, SV 1484536 or 05 4340073).
In some embodiments, in addition to leaf tobacco, the mixture contains less than 3090 other components of the mixture, which include vein, cut flattened vein (СН5 - from the English Sii goPey 5iet), vein treated with water (М/Т5 - from the English uas(eg igeaiwa 5iet) or steam treated vein (515 - from English 5ieat igeaiie 5iet) or reconstituted tobacco Other components may be less than 2095, less than 1095 or less than 595 of the final weight of the tobacco material.
In some embodiments, the smoking product according to the invention contains tobacco material processed by means of aerosol generation. The tobacco material may be processed by means of aerosol generation, but this is not necessary for all mixtures of tobacco material and sheet material. The amount of aerosol generators added to tobacco is from 2 to 90% by weight of tobacco. The total amount of aerosol generating means in the mixture of tobacco material and sheet material after processing is preferably in the range of 4-12 wt.95 of smoking material, preferably less than 10595 and preferably more than 595 by dry weight ratio.
In one embodiment, glycerin is added to the smoking material containing a tobacco leaf substitute. It has been found to reduce the levels of some phenols. Glycerin may be added in an amount of approximately 1 wt.95 (In addition to any glycerin that may have been included in the tobacco leaf substitute). It appears that the addition of glycerol to T55 may have a synergistic effect.
In some embodiments, the mixture may also include a flavoring added at the end to improve the aroma and organoleptic characteristics of the mixture.
Another way to reduce the content of toxic components in the smoke of a smoking product, in accordance with the present invention, is the selection of such components of the tobacco mixture that have a low content of precursors of undesirable components of smoke, for example, tobacco-specific M-nitrosamines (TOMA; in - from the English orasso-5resiiis M-pigozatipev) and metals. For example, the level of T2MA5 can be reduced by using special (for example, lighter) tobacco blends and choosing parts of the tobacco plant with a reduced content of nitrates, precursors of TZMA5. In some versions, leaf tobacco is used for this. A person skilled in the art should know how to adapt the mixture preparation process to obtain a tobacco mixture that has these necessary properties.
The tobacco mixture may also contain expanded tobacco, which is cut tobacco that has been fluffed to reduce the mass of tobacco burned in the cigarette. One of the processes used for processing tobacco is dry ice (DIE) tobacco expansion. The tobacco is permeated with liquid carbon dioxide (COg) in a high-pressure tank, the pressure is reduced and the liquid CO" is sucked away, leaving behind solid CO", or dry ice, which forms in the cellular structure of the tobacco. The tobacco is then rapidly heated, while the dry ice turns into CO gas, which causes the structure of the cut tobacco to expand to a volume close to the volume of the leaf before it was dried. Expanded tobacco is widely used in commercially available cigarettes, and even more so in cigarettes with low levels of ISO-defined constituents.
In one embodiment of the invention, the smoking material is made from a mixture of 50905 of integrated tobacco (VTT), 1595 of substitute tobacco leaf (T55), 1095 of tobacco expanded using dry ice (OIET) and 2595 of leaf tobacco, with the addition of 1,905 of glycerin and 0.895 added at the end of the last flavoring.
The filter and technologies for obtaining smoking material discussed above, when used together, make it possible to obtain a smoking product with a significantly reduced level of toxic components of smoke.
In some embodiments, smoking products according to the invention are characterized by a reduction (for example, compared to a conventional cigarette) of at least 7595, at least 9095, at least 9595, or in all key components of the main stream of smoke defined in this disclosure.
наприклад, Те 5сіепійісThe so-called "key constituents" of the main stream of smoke referred to in the present invention are those constituents of the smoke which have been identified in the literature as undesirable (see, for example, Te 5siepiis

This reduction was better determined when using the intensive smoking mode when the vent is open, as the products were designed according to ISO standards, and blocking the ventilation in the Health Canada smoking mode negates the effect of separation of the rim wrapper.
The decrease in the content of the key components is preferably at least 595 or at least 1095 or more.

Table 7 shows the content of components obtained in the modes of machine smoking according to
IBO and MU for the test product with 7 mg of resins ("7 mg"), which also includes the ratio of values for M/9 and I5ZO. Table 8 provides relevant information relating to the control/comparison cigarette. Data from both tables show that the ratio of the obtained components M/9:I50 tends to increase for the control product compared to the test product. This corresponds to the expected result due to a decrease in ventilation at higher cigarette puff volumes (with the same puff duration), when smoking the test product in the M/9 mode (when half of the ventilation holes and the wrapper separation area (5T) are covered). Thus, there is a dependence on the cost, not on the volume. If none of the vents were blocked and the wrapper separation area was ventilated, the test product would have even lower levels of ingredients at a higher puff volume.
