Abstract

The invention relates to control of quality of materials, articles, equipment, etc. A method for ultrasonic control of articles with coating includes excitation in article at angle to surface of ultrasonic pulses, reception of reflected ultrasonic echo-signals from article, correction of sensitivity of control, evaluation of quality of article by value of amplitude of reflected from defects received echo-signals, with account of previously determined dependence amplitude-distance. According to the invention, on the first control sample without coating made as according by thickness and acoustic properties of material to the controlled article, by means of two inclined acoustic transducers installed at one side of the article and directed towards each other one determines maximum of amplitude for reflected one time from the opposite side of the article echo-signal with its measurement. Then similar actions are performed at the second control sample with coating. Difference of measured amplitudes of ultrasonic echo-signals received from the first and second control samples is determined, then sensitivity of control is increased by value of difference determined. Then control of article is carried out, and while detecting a defect the maximum of amplitude for echo-signal, once reflected from the opposite side of the article, is determined and measured in the closest to the defect location section of the article, by means of two inclined acoustic transducers directed towards each other, and the final correction of control sensitivity is carried out. Thereafter end evaluation of article quality is performed by the value of amplitude of the echo-signal reflected from the defect. The invention provides increase of reliability of ultrasonic control of articles with coating without removal of those coatings.
