Abstract

A magnetic fan includes a fan module and a frame, wherein the frame has a first side wall and a second side wall arranged opposite to each other, wherein the first side wall has a first opening, and the second side wall has a second opening. A first magnet is fixed on the first side wall, and is provided with a first through hole aligned with the first opening, wherein a first electrical connection terminal is provided in the first through hole and is exposed to the outside through the first through hole. A second magnet is fixed on the second side wall, and is provided with a second through hole aligned with the second opening, wherein a second electrical connection terminal is provided in the second through hole and is exposed to the outside through the second through hole. The first and second electrical connection terminals are electrically connected to each other.

Description

Magnetic fan

This work is concerned with heat dissipation devices for computer components, especially a type of fan.

As the computing power of computer components such as central processing units and graphics cards has increased significantly, a large amount of waste heat has also been generated. Once the temperature rises too high, it will affect its performance. Therefore, a cooling fan will be installed on the computer case, or even directly integrated into the central processing unit or graphics card to form a module.

However, depending on the usage, two or more cooling fans may be required. Each fan needs wiring, including power supply and control signal transmission. So many wires are squeezed into the case. In addition to the disadvantage of being difficult to manage, the space occupied will also reduce the heat dissipation efficiency, which needs to be improved.

To solve the above problems, this invention provides a magnetic fan, which includes:

A fan module;

A frame for accommodating the fan module, having a first side wall and a second side wall arranged opposite to each other, the first side wall having a first opening, and the second side wall having a second opening directly opposite to the first opening;

A first magnet fixed on the first side wall, the first magnet is provided with a first through hole, and the first through hole is aligned with the first opening;

A second magnet, which is fixed on the second side wall and directly opposite to the first magnet, and the second magnet is provided with a second through hole, and the second through hole is aligned with the second opening;

A first electrical connection terminal electrically connected to the fan module, extending into the first through-hole and exposed to the outside through the first through-hole;

A second electrical connection terminal electrically connected to the first electrical connection terminal extends into the second through-hole and is exposed to the outside through the second through-hole.

Preferably, a first magnetic attraction member is provided on the first side wall, and a second magnetic attraction member is provided on the second side wall, and the positions of the first magnetic attraction member and the second magnetic attraction member are opposite to each other.

The first/second magnetic attraction member is mounted on a bracket, and the bracket is fixed to the corresponding first/second side wall by screws.

In one embodiment, the bracket includes a bottom plate and two side plates located on both sides of the bottom plate, the bottom plate supports the bottom surface of the first/second magnetic attraction component, and the two side plates respectively cover the two sides of the first/second magnetic attraction component.

Furthermore, the two side panels of the bracket are respectively provided with an ear, and the ear is provided with a through hole, so that the screw can pass through the through hole and be locked on the corresponding first/second side wall.

In one embodiment, the first and second magnetic attracting members are a combination of a magnet and an iron sheet.

Preferably, the first side wall and the second side wall are respectively provided with a fool-proof interlocking structure forming a concave-convex shape.

Please refer to Figures 1 to 3, which show the magnetic fan provided by the invention, which includes a fan module 1 and a frame 2 for accommodating the fan module 1, wherein the frame 2 is formed by two components 21A and 21B connected together. The assembled frame 2 defines a first side wall 22 and a second side wall 23 opposite to the first side wall 22, wherein the first side wall 22 is provided with a first opening 221, and the second side wall 23 is provided with a second opening 231, and the first opening 221 is directly opposite to the second opening 231. In this embodiment, the first opening 221 and the second opening 231 are respectively formed by the combination of the notches on the components 21A and 21B.

A first magnet 31 and a first magnetic member 41 are fixed to the inner side of the first side wall 22, and a second magnet 32 and a second magnetic member 42 are fixed to the inner side of the second side wall 23, wherein the first magnet 31 and the second magnet 32 are directly opposite to each other, and the first magnetic member 41 and the second magnetic member 42 are directly opposite to each other. The first magnetic member 41 and the second magnetic member 42 have magnetic force and can attract each other; in this embodiment, the first magnetic member 41 is a magnet, and the second magnetic member 42 is an iron sheet.

The first magnet 31 and the second magnet 32 have the same structure and assembly, and the two are described together below. As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the first magnet 31/the second magnet 32 is provided with a first through hole 311/a second through hole 321 that passes through the first through hole 311/the second through hole 321, wherein the first through hole 311/the second through hole 321 is aligned with the first opening 221/the second opening 231 on the first side wall 22/the second side wall 23. The first through hole 311/the second through hole 321 is provided with a first electrical connection terminal 51/a second electrical connection terminal 52, and the first electrical connection terminal 51/the second electrical connection terminal 52 is exposed outside the frame 2 through the first through hole 311/the second through hole 321. The first electrical connection terminal 51 is electrically connected to the second electrical connection terminal 52, and the first electrical connection terminal 51 is further electrically connected to the fan module. Accordingly, the first electrical connection terminal 51 can receive external power and control signals from an external control unit and transmit them to the fan module, thereby driving the fan module and controlling the speed or lighting effect of the fan module, and the power and control signals will continue to be transmitted to the second electrical connection terminal 52.

The first magnetic member 41 and the second magnetic member 42 have the same structure and assembly, and the two are described together below. As shown in Figure 6, the first magnetic member 41/the second magnetic member 42 is arranged on a U-shaped bracket 6, and the bracket 6 is fastened to the first side wall 22/the second side wall 23 by screws 7, thereby positioning the first magnetic member 41/the second magnetic member 42. In this embodiment, the bracket 6 has a bottom plate 61 and two side plates 62 located on both sides of the bottom plate 61, respectively, and the three side plates 62 are respectively in contact with the bottom surface and both side surfaces of the first magnetic member 41/the second magnetic member 42, thereby fixing the first magnetic member 41/the second magnetic member 42 in the bracket 6. The bracket 6 is provided with an ear 63 on the outer side of the two side plates 62, and the ear 63 is provided with a through hole 64, which allows the screw 7 to be locked into the first side wall 22/second side wall 23 after passing through, so as to tighten the ear 63 on the first side wall 22/second side wall 23, thereby fixing the bracket 6.

In addition, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the first side wall 22 is provided with a protrusion 222 and a groove 223 on its outer side, and the second side wall 23 is provided with a protrusion 232 and a groove 233 on its outer side, wherein the protrusion 222 of the first side wall 22 is opposite to the groove 233 of the second side wall 23, and the groove 223 of the first side wall 22 is opposite to the protrusion 232 of the second side wall 23.

Through the above structure, multiple inventions can be connected in series based on the principle of magnetic attraction. Referring to FIG. 7, a fan 8A is placed with its first side wall 22 facing the second side wall 23 of another fan 8B. At this time, the first magnet 31 of the fan 8A corresponds to the second magnet 32 of the fan 8B, and the first magnetic component 41 of the fan 8A corresponds to the second magnetic component 42 of the fan 8B. Then, the two fans 8A and 8B will automatically combine together based on the attraction between the first magnet 31 and the second magnet 32 and the attraction between the first magnetic component 41 and the second magnetic component 42, without any other operation. On the other hand, the two fans 8A and 8B can produce assembly directionality through the cooperation between the protrusions 222/232 and the grooves 223/233, thereby achieving the purpose of foolproofing. When the two fans are automatically connected by magnetic force, the first electrical connection terminal 51 of fan 8A will automatically connect to the second electrical connection terminal 52 of fan 8B. Therefore, after fan 8A obtains power and control signals, it will also continue to transmit to fan 8B, so that all fans in series can obtain power and control signals.

A magnetic fan, comprising: A fan module; A frame for accommodating the fan module, having a first side wall and a second side wall arranged opposite to each other, the first side wall having a first opening, and the second side wall having a second opening directly opposite to the first opening; A first magnet fixed on the first side wall, the first magnet is provided with a first through hole, and the first through hole is aligned with the first opening; A second magnet, which is fixed on the second side wall and directly opposite to the first magnet, and the second magnet is provided with a second through hole, and the second through hole is aligned with the second opening; A first electrical connection terminal electrically connected to the fan module, extending into the first through-hole and exposed to the outside through the first through-hole; A second electrical connection terminal electrically connected to the first electrical connection terminal extends into the second through-hole and is exposed to the outside through the second through-hole.
