164。Referring to Figures 1A-1C, a bit holder 160 is shown to include a hexagonal or polygonal handle 162 and a body 164 that includes a hexagon or polygon at its end for receiving a bit 40. Jack 166. An outer annular surface of the body 164 is provided with an elongated annular recess 168. A floating sleeve 170 is disposed on the end of the body 164, and the floating sleeve 170 supports an annular magnet 50 at its end. The floating sleeve 170 includes an inner annular groove 172 that receives a retaining member 174 therein. The floating sleeve 170 can be removably attached to the body 164 by forcing the body 164 into the rear end opening 176 of the floating sleeve 170 until the holder 174 is received in the annular recess 168 of the body 164.

The annular recess 168 is provided with a front shoulder 178 and a rear shoulder 180 that allow the floating sleeve 170 to travel in the fore-and-aft direction as indicated by arrow A, while the front and rear shoulders 178, 180 are supported by the retaining member 174. The movement of the floating sleeve 170 is restricted. Therefore, the floating sleeve can be between a front position where the holder 174 is engaged with the front shoulder portion 178 as shown in FIG. 1B and a rear position where the holder 174 and the rear shoulder portion 180 are engaged as shown in FIG. 1C. Floating freely. As shown in FIGS. 2, 3A and 3B, the holder 174 may take the form of a non-elastic member such as steel or an elastic collar 174A as shown in FIG. 2, or an O-ring such as that shown in FIG. 3A. 174B or an elastic member such as a C-shaped elastic ring 174C as shown in FIG. 3B. The floating sleeve 170 allows the ring magnet 50 to float forward under its magnetic force to engage with the head of a fastener and magnetize the fastener to improve the retention of the fastener and the cutter head 40.

Referring to FIG. 1D, in an alternative embodiment, the floating sleeve 170 can also The rearward movement is to position the retaining member 174 in a parked position rearward of the rear shoulder 180. In the present embodiment, the retaining member 174 includes an elastic member (such as an O-shaped elastic ring 174B or a C-shaped elastic ring 174C), and when the floating sleeve 170 is axially pulled back to the park position, the elastic member is Stretch and stretch. The extended resilient retaining member 174 frictionally engages the outer wall of the body 164 in a sealed manner to retain the floating sleeve 170 in the park position until the user pulls the outer floating sleeve forward to return to Figures 1A-1C. One of several floating positions shown. The inner shoulder 177 on the front end of the floating sleeve 170 abuts the front end 179 of the body 164 to prevent the floating sleeve 170 from moving further rearward beyond the park position. In the parked position, the user is more likely to grasp the cutter head 40 and remove the cutter head 40 from the receptacle 166. Referring to FIG. 1E, in another embodiment, the body 164 can be formed with an annular parking recess 175 located behind the annular recess 168 to more reliably retain the retaining member 174 and the floating sleeve 170 in the parked position.

40。As an alternative embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, the bit holder 160' can use an optional retaining member in the form of a ball 190 that can be received in the opening 192 of the floating sleeve 170' and that can be utilized by steel An annular elastic band 194 of plastic or other suitable material is retained in the opening 192. The ball is received in an annular recess 168' such that the floating sleeve 170' can be in a forward position where the ball 190 engages the front shoulder 178' of the annular recess 168' and the rear shoulder 180 of the ball and annular recess 168' 'The position of the rear of the snap floats. In operation, the bit holders 160, 160' can be used to engage a fastener via the bit 40, and the floating sleeves 170, 170' allow the ring magnet 50 to float forward under its magnetic force to tightly The firmware snaps and magnetizes the fasteners to improve the retention of the fasteners and the cutter head 40. In an alternative embodiment, the floating sleeve 170' can be moved to a rear position such that the ball 190 is positioned behind the rear shoulder 180' and snaps into a recess in the body 164 or body 164 to It is easier to remove the cutter head 40.

Referring to Figures 6, 7A, 8 and 9, the disclosed cartridge assembly 470 includes a body 472 and a floating sleeve 474. The body 472 includes a first end defining a handle 476 and a second end defining a polygonal receptacle 478 which may be hexagonal or may have other polygonal shapes. At the inner end of the polygonal jack 478, an additional aperture 480 for receiving a magnet 482 therein may be provided. The outer surface at the second end of the body 472 includes a threaded portion 484 adapted to receive a threaded cover 486. The threaded cap 486 includes an internal thread 488 that engages the threaded portion 484. The threaded cap 486 also includes a radially inwardly extending shoulder 490 that axially locks an O-ring 492 between the shoulder 490 and the end face 494 of the body 472. An annular groove 496 having a front shoulder 498 is formed at the rear end of the threaded portion 484. A shoulder 500 for engaging the front shoulder 498 at the front end portion of the annular groove 496 is formed at the rear end portion of the screw cap 486. The front shoulder 498 and the shoulder 500 limit axial forward axial movement of the threaded cover 486.

40。When the cutter head 40 (not shown) is inserted into the polygonal jack 478, the screw cap 486 can be fastened to the O-ring 492 such that the O-ring 492 extends radially inwardly to snap to the cutter head 40 and the cutter head 40 is secured in the receptacle 478. To remove the cutter head 40, the threaded cover 486 can be rotated to release the clamping force on the O-ring 492, thereby allowing the O-ring 492 to disengage from the cutter head 40 and permit removal of the cutter head 40.

The body 472 also includes an annular recess 502 at an intermediate location on the body 472. The annular recess 502 is disposed in the outer surface of the body and is elongated in the axial direction to accommodate a C-shaped collar 504 that is received in an inner annular recess 506 on the interior of the floating sleeve 474. The C-shaped collar 504 can follow the length of the annular recess 502 along the axis The travel is made to allow the floating sleeve 474 to float in the front-rear direction. The annular recess 502 has a front shoulder and a rear shoulder that limit the axial movement of the floating sleeve. The C-shaped collar 504 is flexible to allow the floating sleeve 474 to be removed from the body 472 such that the threaded cover 486 can be accessed to tighten and loosen the threaded cover 486 to allow insertion of the cutter head 40 into the polygonal receptacle 478. The neutralization removes the cutter head from the polygonal jack 478. The front end of the floating sleeve 474 supports an annular magnet 50 that is allowed to move in the fore and aft direction to engage and magnetize a fastener to retain the fastener to the cutter head 40. A spacer sleeve 508 can be disposed behind the ring magnet 50 and can limit rearward movement of the floating sleeve 474 by engagement with the front end of the screw cap 486.

40。In operation, the handle 476 can be inserted directly into a drill or indirectly into a drill via a quick disassembly collet assembly. The floating sleeve 474 can be removed from the body 472 and the tool bit 40 can be inserted into the polygonal jack 478. Magnet 482 draws cutter head 40 to the rearmost position within polygonal receptacle 478. The threaded cap 486 can then be tightened in the rearward direction R such that the O-ring 492 extends radially inwardly while being compressed, thereby snapping into the cutter head 40 and securing the cutter head 40 in the polygonal receptacle 478 . The floating sleeve 474 can then slide over the end of the body 472 such that the C-shaped collar 504 is received in the annular recess 502 to limit axial movement of the floating sleeve 474. When a fastener 54 (not shown) is engaged with the cutter head 40, the floating sleeve 474, under the influence of the ring magnet 50, can slide axially forwardly to engage the fastener 54, thereby magnetizing the fastener 54 and The fastener 54 is held to the cutter head 40.

486。Referring to Figure 7B, in an alternative embodiment, a bit holder assembly 470' can include the body 472, the handle 476 and the threaded cover 486, and a modified floating sleeve 474'. The floating sleeve 474' can include a retaining member 504', such as an O-shaped or C-shaped resilient ring, received in an annular recess 502 on the exterior of the body 472 to allow the floating sleeve 474' to be A front shoulder 503 of the annular recess 502 and a rear position and a rear position of the rear shoulder 501 are floated. As noted above, the floating sleeve 474' supports an annular magnet 450 that is allowed to move in the fore and aft direction to engage and magnetize fasteners with a fastener to retain the fastener to the cutter head 40. The floating sleeve 474' differs from the floating sleeve 474 of Figure 7A in that there is no spacer sleeve 508 and the floating sleeve 474' can be moved further rearward to a parked position as shown at 7B. In the park position, the retaining member 504' engages with the outer wall of the body 472 (or a parking recess formed in the outer wall of the body 472). This exposes the threaded cover 486 so that the threaded cover 486 can be removed from the body 472 without removing the floating sleeve 474' from the body 472.

Referring to Figures 10 through 16, an alternative configuration of the floating sleeve 510 in accordance with the principles of the present teachings will now be described. The floating sleeve 510 includes an elongated annular recess 512 on its outer surface and a pair of tapered windows 514 that extend through the sleeve 510 opposite each other within the elongated annular recess 512. The two windows 514 each receive a ball 516 therein, and an elastic band 518 is received in the elongated annular recess 512 and is located on top of the two balls 516 to secure the two balls 516 in the pair of tapered windows 514. in. The two spheres 516 are designed to be received in a reduced diameter portion 306 between the front shoulder 308 and the rear shoulder 310 of the cutter head 300 to limit axial movement of the floating sleeve 510 in the fore and aft direction.

510。During insertion of the cutter head 300 into the floating sleeve 510, the elastic band 518 allows the two spheres 516 while a working region 304 of the cutter head 300 is inserted into or removed from the floating sleeve 510. The spring force of the elastic band 518 is pushed radially outward. When the two spheres 516 reach the reduced diameter portion 306 of the cutter head 300, the two spheres 516 move radially inwardly such that the force of the elastic band 518 acting on the ball 516 is reduced. Its meaning When the two spheres 516 are engaged with the front shoulder 308 and the rear shoulder 310 of the reduced diameter portion 306, the two spheres 516 provide interference but do not provide significant relief to the floating motion of the floating sleeve 510 along the cutter head 300. resistance. A ring magnet 50 is disposed at the front end of the floating sleeve 510 and is designed to magnetize a fastener 54 (not shown) that engages the bit 300. When the actuator sleeve 830 is in its forward position (as shown in Figure 4 of the '497 application), the engagement end 873 of the elongated resilient finger 870 extends into the receptacle 823 for engagement with the cutter head 40 and retaining the cutter head 40 in the receptacle 823. When the actuator sleeve 830 is withdrawn against the force of the return spring 860 (as shown in Figure 6 of the '497 application), the second positioning ring 880 pulls the pushed end 872 of the elongated resilient finger 870 to engage End 873 is withdrawn from receptacle 823, thereby enabling removal of cutter head 40 from receptacle 823.

The inside of the jack 823 is an eject mechanism 890, and the eject mechanism 890 includes a A plunger 891, a magnetic element 892 and a resilient element 893. The magnetic member 892 is disposed on one end of the plunger 891, and the other end of the plunger 891 abuts on one end of the elastic member 893. The other end of the resilient member 893 abuts against the end of the handle 840. The magnetic member 892 faces the front end of the insertion hole 823. When a cutter head is inserted into the insertion hole 823, the elastic member 893 is compressed. When the cutter head is released from the insertion hole 823, the elastic member 893 pushes the plunger 891 toward the open end of the insertion hole, so that the cutter head is at least partially ejected from the insertion hole 823. This helps to remove the cutter head from the jack 823. When the actuator sleeve 830 is withdrawn to release the cutter head, the magnetic element 892 prevents the cutter head from being fully ejected from the receptacle 823.

820。The outer surface of the body 820 is provided with an elongated annular recess 812. The floating sleeve 810 substantially surrounds the body 820 and supports an annular magnet 814 at the end of the floating sleeve 810. The floating sleeve 810 includes an inner annular groove 816 that receives a retaining member 818 therein. The floating sleeve 810 can be detachably attached to the body 820 by forcing the body 820 into the rear end opening 822 of the floating sleeve 810 until the holder 818 is received in the annular recess 812 of the body 820.

The recess 812 is provided with a front shoulder portion 824 and a rear shoulder portion 826 that allow the floating sleeve 810 to travel in the fore-and-aft direction as indicated by arrow A, while the front and rear shoulder portions 824, 826 are engaged with the retaining member 818. The travel of the floating sleeve 810 is limited. Therefore, the floating sleeve can be between a rear position where the holder 818 is engaged with the rear shoulder portion 826 as shown in FIG. 33A and a front position where the holder 818 and the front shoulder portion 824 are engaged as shown in FIG. 33B. Freely floating, and the ring magnet 814 is engageable with the head of a threaded fastener 819. As shown in FIGS. 34A to 34C, the holder 818 may take the form of a non-elastic member such as a steel collar 818a as shown in FIG. 34A, or an O-shaped elastic ring 818b such as shown in FIG. 34B or as shown in FIG. 34C. C shown The elastic ring 818c is in the form of an elastic member.

Referring to Figure 33C, in an alternative embodiment, the floating sleeve 810 can also be moved rearwardly to a position that positions the retainer 818 behind the rear shoulder 826. In the present embodiment, the retaining member 818 includes an elastic member (such as an O-shaped elastic ring 818b or a C-shaped elastic ring 818c), and the elastic member is pulled when the floating sleeve 810 is pulled axially rearward to the park position. Stretch and stretch. The extended resilient retaining member 818 frictionally engages the outer wall of the body 820 in a sealed manner to retain the floating sleeve 810 in the park position until the user pulls the floating sleeve 810 forward to return to Figures 33A and 33B. One of several floating positions shown. The inner shoulder 877 on the front end of the floating sleeve 810 abuts against the front end 879 of the body 820 to prevent the floating sleeve 810 from moving further rearward beyond the parked position. In the park position, when the actuator sleeve 830 is withdrawn such that the cutter head 40 is ejected from the receptacle 823, the user is more likely to grasp the cutter head 40 and remove the cutter head 40 from the receptacle 823. In another embodiment similar to the embodiment of FIG. 1E, the body 820 can be formed with an annular parking recess located behind the annular recess 812 to more reliably retain the retainer 818 and the floating sleeve 810 in the parked position.
