1.折疊器的左右殼體併攏時(不管快拆組鎖定或未鎖定),折疊器所搭設之二管件間未做折疊。
2.折疊器的左右殼體展開時,快拆組一定是未鎖定,且折疊器所搭設之二管件間已做折疊。
習知折疊自行車上所裝設之折疊器,當將左右殼體併攏時係經由操作該快拆組以對折疊器之左右殼體產生鎖定作用,一般即將快拆組本身所產生之鎖定作用稱為第一重鎖定作用。因為一般快拆組都具有一操作柄,以方便操作快拆組產生鎖定作用或解開鎖定作用,亦即不管是要產生鎖定作用或是要解開鎖定作用,都會操作到該操作柄,因此僅擁有第一重(單重)鎖定作用之折疊器在實際使用上,會存在著該操作柄易因受震動或被無意間觸及(或撞及)而偏移(解開鎖定)之顧慮,尤其折疊自行車係在經常性震動之使用環境中行進移動,故倘在不知覺中該操作柄突然偏移而解開折疊器之鎖定,恐將致使騎乘者產生嚴重災難。
因此後來即有具雙重鎖定作用之折疊自行車折疊器產生,如第一圖所示即係一種習知具雙重鎖定作用之折疊自行車折疊器1,其具有一左殼體11及一右殼體12,分別與一管件111、121接合;左、右殼體11、12於一側藉由一軸桿穿設而樞接,使得左右殼體11、12可以併攏或以該軸桿為軸心做展開動作;在左右殼體11、12之非樞接側則設置有一快拆組13,其外部明顯具有一操作柄131,即用以操作該快拆組13之內部組件變動用;當左右殼體11、12併攏時,可藉由扳動該操作柄131向管件121方向併攏,以使該快拆組13之內部組件對左右殼體11、12產生第一重鎖定作用;另外則在該管件121外部固設有一卡體14,為具伸張彈性之材料成形,開口處做內縮狀,當該操作柄131向管件121方向併攏時會觸及該卡體14,並向內擠入以做定位;因此藉由該卡體14對操作柄131之抓持達成第二重鎖定作用。惟其缺失在於該卡體14不耐候,使用不久其伸張彈性即驟降,導致第二重鎖定作用鬆散而顯為不佳。

緣是,本創作之主要目的即在提供一種第二重鎖定作用可以極為方便操作之具加強鎖定作用之折疊自行車折疊器。
