Description

整體性導電鎖定同軸連接器
  本發明一般係關於同軸線纜連接器,以及特別是關於能夠牢固地連接同軸線纜至終端之同軸線纜連接器。

  隨著CATV系統數位訊號的出現,由於以訊號干擾的形式導致所謂傾斜狀態,出現客戶有關較差畫面品質的報怨。這些抱怨往往會造成CATV系統作業員必須派出技術員來解決問題。通常技術員回報的問題原因是F連接器接頭鬆脫。F型態連接器接頭鬆脫的原因,有時候是因為系統作業員的安裝規則禁止使用客戶家裡的扳手設備,而無法適當栓緊。其他時候是用戶在技術員離開後,移動設備位置時沒有適當固定住F連接器。此外,有些人認為F連結耦合器鬆脫是因為振動和/或冷熱循環。
  然而,不適當的安裝連接器可能導致較差的訊號傳輸,這是因為沿著裝置之間的電路不連續會導致射頻訊號(RF)的遺漏。這種遺漏可能是以訊號出口的形式,RF能量從連接器/線纜配置散發。或者,RF遺漏可能是以訊號入口的形式,來自外部來源的RF能量可能進入連接器/線纜的配置,導致訊號和雜訊比例的問題,產生令人無法接受的畫面。
  很多F連接器的電流狀態是根據F公連接器介面和F母連接器介面之間的緊密接觸。假使有某些原因,連接器介面可以互相拉開,譬如在鬆脫F公耦合器的情況,可能產生一個介面間隙。這個間隙可能如之前說明的,是一個RF遺漏點。
  為了克服這項問題,已介紹一些方法,包括Bence等人之美國第7114990及7479035號專利,Palinkas等人之美國第6716062號專利以及Montena之美國第20080102696號專利公告案。雖然這些方式在各種程度是成功的,但最好還是可以提供一種連接器結合功能,可運作在各種啣接的階段。
  為瞭解決F型態耦合器鬆脫的議題,先前已介紹過多種方式,包括Phoenix Communication Technologies International(PCT)公司所生產的防鬆墊圈設計,即已知的TRS連接器。
  雖然這些方式在各種程度算是成功的,但最好還是可以提供一種改善的鎖定構件。
  因此最好可以一種同軸線纜連接器,提供無間隙的連接,其他接地路徑,和RF保護入口和出口的方式。
  這裡說明的是用來耦合同軸線纜的一端到終端的同軸線纜連接器,同軸線纜連接器包括:主體,此主體包括後端,前端和從主體後端和前端之間延伸的內表面,內表面界定出一個縱向開口;支柱,其至少部分位於主體的縱向開口內,此支柱包括前端和外表面,外表面具有凹槽位於鄰近於前端;耦合螺帽,其位於靠近主體的前端以啣接終端,耦合螺帽具有前端和後端以及從其間延伸的開口,開口具有內表面,內表面有一個用來啣接終端的螺紋部分,啣接管狀支柱的面朝前表面;以及環,其具有內表面,面朝前表面,以及面朝後傾斜表面,環位於耦合螺帽和管狀支柱之間的凹槽,環向外徑向偏斜,環的至少一部分面朝後傾斜表面啣接至少一部分耦合螺帽的面朝前傾斜表面。
  在一些實施例中,同軸線纜連接器也包括密封元件。
  在其他實施例中,終端上耦合螺帽的旋轉偏移管狀支柱靠在終端以維持終端接觸。

  現在對本發明優先實施例詳細加以說明,其範例顯示於附圖中。儘可能地,在全部附圖中相同的參考數字表示相同的或類似元件。
  參考圖1,同軸連接器20包括耦合螺帽30,支柱60,環90,密封元件100,主體110,抓取元件150,和壓縮環160。同軸連接器20是軸向壓縮型態的同軸連接器,同軸連接器20到同軸線纜的連接是此項技術已知的。圖1所示的同軸連接器20是在其未附加,未壓縮狀態。如以下更詳細的描述,環90剛剛好套住支柱60。接著耦合螺帽30放置在支柱60和環90上。然後主體110適當地壓入支柱60(並進到耦合螺帽30)。最後,抓取元件150,和位於其中的壓縮環160再壓入主體110,而完成同軸連接器20。耦合螺帽30在主體110的前端部分沿著支柱60自由旋轉。或者,如以下更詳細的描述,耦合螺帽30也限制軸向的移動,使其啣接終端。
  如圖2更詳細的描述,耦合螺帽30包括前端32,後端34和從其間延伸的開口36。耦合螺帽30的開口36有一個內表面38。內表面38包括螺紋部分40,用來啣接支柱60的面朝前表面42,以及面朝前的傾斜表面44。耦合螺帽30在鄰近前端32處也有一個平滑的外表面46,和鄰近後端34處的六角形設計構件48。耦合螺帽30最好是由金屬材料製成,譬如黃銅,並塗上一層譬如鎳的導電,抗腐蝕材料。
  圖3所示的支柱60包括前端62,後端64和從其間延伸的開口66。支柱60也包括外表面68,外表面68在靠近前端62處有一個凹槽70。凹槽70也包括底部表面72和面朝後的表面74。支柱60也是由金屬材料製成,譬如黃銅,並塗上一層譬如錫的導電抗腐蝕材料。
  圖4所示的環90有大致可描述為平截頭圓錐形的形狀。環90包括內表面92,面朝前的表面94,和面朝後的傾斜表面96。環90沿著一側也有一個開口98,可改變環90的直徑。環90最好是由金屬材料製成,譬如加熱處理的鋇化銅,並且是具彈性的元件。也就是說,環90可如以下所描述的壓縮和擴展。
  現在參考圖5,如此項技術已知的,同軸連接器20已安裝到同軸線纜180。轉動同軸連接器20的耦合螺帽30以啣接終端190,尤其是終端190的螺紋192。應該要注意的是在此項設計以及圖1準備運送出的配置中,耦合螺帽30向後偏斜以啣接主體110。位於凹槽70中的環90,從凹槽70向外徑向偏斜以啣接耦合螺帽30。環90的外直徑最好大於耦合螺帽30的內直徑,使得環90啣接耦合螺帽30的內表面38。因而面朝後的傾斜表面96啣接耦合螺帽30面朝前的傾斜表面44。由於耦合螺帽30面朝前的表面94啣接凹槽70面朝後的表面74,耦合螺帽30相對於支柱60向後偏斜朝向主體110。
  應該也要注意的是,在圖5中支柱60只要轉動幾次耦合螺帽30就可以啣接終端190。除此之外,耦合螺帽30還沒有開始相對於主體110的支柱60,軸向移動朝向終端190。
  圖6顯示的是完全啣接終端190的耦合螺帽30。支柱60在啣接開始時已啣接到終端190,當耦合螺帽30旋轉到終端190時,耦合螺帽30相對於支柱60和環90,朝前軸向移動。如我們在圖6看見的,耦合螺帽30面朝前的傾斜表面44沿著面朝後的傾斜表面96移動,徑向壓縮環90。由於耦合螺帽30面朝前的傾斜表面44固定地啣接環90面朝後的傾斜表面96,產生另一個經過耦合螺帽30和環90的接地路徑。
  可旋轉耦合螺帽30,直到耦合螺帽30面朝前的表面42啣接支柱60面朝後的表面74。耦合螺帽30面朝前的傾斜表面44啣接環90面朝後的傾斜表面96,環90啣接凹槽70的底部表面72,提出兩種軸向和徑向的力,偏斜,或負載,並抑制耦合螺帽30的旋轉。
  應該也要注意的是,環90徑向朝外偏斜的效應也會使耦合螺帽30相對於支柱60集中(因而是同軸線纜180的中央導體)。環90的朝外偏斜也會導致耦合螺帽30上螺紋的負載。由於耦合螺帽30是以朝後的方向(軸向)偏斜,賦予終端190的螺紋192力量。該力量可幫助維持終端190和同軸連接器20之間正向的軸向啣接。更者,當同軸連接器20(尤其是耦合螺帽30)抽去線時,耦合螺帽30會離開終端190,同軸連接器20會回復圖1所示的狀態。
  圖6所示的密封元件100是在主體110和支柱60的連接處,防止濕氣和碎片進入同軸連接器20。應該要注意的是耦合螺帽30在密封元件100上軸向朝前移動。如圖6所示,密封元件100是O-形環。
  圖7顯示的是同軸連接器20'的另一種實施範例。同軸連接器20'有一個較大的密封元件100'。同軸連接器20'包括耦合螺帽30',支柱60',環90',密封元件100',主體110',抓取元件150',和壓縮環160'。一般而言,同軸連接器20'的差別是耦合螺帽30'的內表面38'和主體110' 的外表面稍微有點不同,以容納較大的密封元件100'。不是密封三個元件(即耦合螺帽,支柱和主體)的連接處,而是只密封同軸連接器20'兩個元件的連接處。其餘同軸連接器20'的結構,以及運作都和先前的實施範例相同。
  圖8顯示的是依據本項發明同軸連接器20'的另一種實施範例。同軸連接器20'包括耦合螺帽30',支柱60',環90',密封元件100',和主體110'。將同軸連接器20'設計成釘梢型態的連接器,安排方式是中央導電器200'和支柱60'保持接觸著終端(未顯示)。耦合螺帽30',支柱60',和環90'是以和上述相同的運作方式,針對同軸連接器20運作。
  業界熟知此技術者能夠對本發明作許多變化及改變而並不會脫離本發明之精神及範圍。因而,預期本發明將含蓋這些變化以及改變,只要其屬於下列申請專利範圍及其同等情況範圍內。

Claims (14)

  1. 一種用來耦合同軸線纜的一端到終端的同軸線纜連接器,同軸線纜連接器包括:
    主體,此主體包括後端,前端和從主體後端和前端之間延伸的內表面,內表面界定出一個縱向開口;
    支柱,其至少部分位於主體的縱向開口內,此支柱包括前端和外表面,外表面具有凹槽位於鄰近的前端;
    耦合螺帽,其位於靠近主體的前端以啣接終端,耦合螺帽具有前端和後端以及從其間延伸的開口,開口具有內表面,內表面有一個用來啣接終端的螺紋部分,啣接管狀支柱的面朝前表面;以及
    環,其具有內表面,面朝前表面,以及面朝後傾斜表面,環位於耦合螺帽和管狀支柱之間的凹槽中,環向外地徑向偏斜,環的至少一部分面朝後傾斜表面啣接至少一部分耦合螺帽的面朝前傾斜表面。
  2. 依據申請專利範圍第1項之同軸線纜連接器,其中更進一步包括密封元件位於耦合螺帽之內表面上以防止水氣進入。
  3. 依據申請專利範圍第2項之同軸線纜連接器,其中密封元件位於耦合螺帽與管狀支柱之間。
  4. 依據申請專利範圍第2項之同軸線纜連接器,其中密封元件位於耦合螺帽與主體之間。
  5. 依據申請專利範圍第1項之同軸線纜連接器,其中耦合螺帽相對於管狀支柱之向前移動將徑向地緊壓環而提供耦合螺帽與管狀支柱間之電性連通。
  6. 依據申請專利範圍第1項之同軸線纜連接器,其中當同軸線纜連接器未連接終端時,環相對於管狀支柱向後地偏移耦合螺帽。
  7. 依據申請專利範圍第1項之同軸線纜連接器,其中環沿著一側具有一個開口以改變直徑大小。
  8. 依據申請專利範圍第1項之同軸線纜連接器,其中在終端上耦合螺帽之轉動將偏移管狀支柱靠在終端以維持與終端接觸。
  9. 依據申請專利範圍第1項之同軸線纜連接器,其中環之內表面啣接管狀支柱之凹槽的底部表面以及耦合螺帽之面朝前表面啣接凹槽之面朝後表面於連接器完全地連接至終端之時。
  10. 一種用來耦合同軸線纜的一端到終端的同軸線纜連接器,同軸線纜連接器包括:
    主體,此主體包括後端,前端和從主體後端和前端之間延伸的內表面,內表面界定出一個縱向開口;
    支柱,其至少部分位於主體的縱向開口內,此支柱包括前端和外表面,外表面具有凹槽;
