Abstract

技术领域
本发明总地涉及同轴电缆连接器,并具体地涉及能将同轴电缆牢固地连接到端子的同轴电缆连接器。
背景技术
由于CATV系统中数字信号的出现,呈信号干扰形式的较差图像质量而发生客户抱怨的上升,信号干扰造成被称为“拼图(tiling)”等的现象。这种性质的抱怨导致在CATV系统中操作者必须派遣技术人员来解决问题。经常由技术人员报告说问题的起因是松弛的F型连接器接头。F型连接器接头可由于许多原因而松弛;有时,它们由于系统操作者的安装规则,即,禁止在屋里、在客户设备上使用扳手而不适当地紧固。其它时候,屋主会在技术人员离开之后重新定位设备并会不适当地固定F型连接器。此外,某些人声称F型连接器接头是由于振动和/或热和冷循环而松弛。
无论如何,不适当安装的连接器会导致较差的信号传递,这是因为沿装置之间的电气路径存在间断,从而导致射频(“RF”)信号的泄漏。这种泄漏可以呈信号溢出的形式,其中RF能量辐射到连接器/电缆结构以外。替代地,RF泄漏可以呈信号进入的形式,其中来自外部源的RF能量可进入连接器/电缆结构,从而引起导致不可接受的图像的信噪比问题。
F型连接器的许多当前状态依赖于F型阳连接器接口与F型阴连接器接口之间的紧密接触。如果为了某些原因,诸如在松弛的F型阳接头的情况下允许远离彼此地拉开连接器接口,则会产生接口“间隙”。这种间隙可以是如前所述的RF泄漏的位点。
为了克服这个问题,已提出许多方法,包括美国专利第7,114,990号(Bence等人)、第7,479,035号(Bence等人)、第6,716,062号(Palinkas等人)以及美国专利申请20080102696(Montena)。尽管这些方法不同程度地成功,但仍希望提供一种将在配合的各个阶段操作的功能性连接器接合部。
为了解决使F型接头松开的问题,已提出许多方法,包括由凤凰通讯技术国际公司(PhoenixCommunicationsTechnologiesInternational(PCT))生产的、被称为TRS连接器的锁紧垫圈的设计。尽管此方法不同程度地略有成效,但仍希望提供一种提供改进的锁定机构的功能性连接器接合部。
因此,仍希望提供一种同轴连接器,该同轴连接器提供一种无间隙的连接、替代的接地路径和用于RF屏蔽进入和溢出的方法。
发明内容
在此公开一种用于将同轴电缆的端部联接至端子的同轴电缆连接器,该同轴电缆连接器包括:本体,该本体包括后端部、前端部和在本体的后端部和前端部之间延伸的内表面,内表面形成纵向开口;柱体,该柱体至少部分地设置在本体的纵向开口内,该柱体包括前端部和外表面,外表面具有与前端部相邻设置的凹槽;联接螺母,该联接螺母设置在本体的前端部附近,以与端子配合,该联接螺母具有前端部和后端部以及在两端部之间延伸的开口,该开口具有内表面,该内表面具有用于与端子配合的螺纹部、用于与管状柱体配合的面向前的表面以及面向前的倾斜表面;以及环,环具有内表面、面向前的表面以及面向后的倾斜表面,该环设置在联接螺母与管状柱体之间的凹槽内,该环向外径向偏置,而该环的面向后的倾斜表面的至少一部分与联接螺母的面向前的倾斜表面的至少一部分配合。
在一些实施例中,同轴电缆连接器还包括密封构件。
在其它实施例中,联接螺母在端子上的转动使管状柱体偏置抵靠端子以保持与端子的接触。

具体实施方式
现在将具体参照本发明的目前较佳的实施例,这些实施例的例子在附图中示出。只要有可能,在所有附图中都用相同的附图标记来表示相同或类似的部件。
参见图1,同轴连接器20具有联接螺母30、柱体60、环90、密封构件100、本体110、抓持构件150和压缩环160。同轴连接器20是轴向压缩型同轴连接器,且本领域中已知同轴连接器20至同轴电缆的连接。在图1中示出处于未附连、未压缩状态的同轴连接器20。如下更详细所述,环90卡配到柱体60上。随后,联接螺母30套设在柱体60和环90上。随后,本体110压配到柱体60外(以及联接螺母30内)。最后,内部设有压缩环160的抓持构件150压配到本体110外以完成同轴连接器20。联接螺母30在本体110的前部内自由地绕柱体60旋转。同样,如下更详细地所述,联接螺母30还具有受限的轴向运动以被允许与端子配合。
如图2中更详细所示,联接螺母30具有前端部32、后端部34以及在两端部之间延伸的开口36。联接螺母30的开口36具有内表面38。内表面38包括螺纹部40、用于与柱体60配合的面向前的表面42以及面向前的倾斜表面44。联接螺母30还具有与前端部32相邻的光滑的外表面46以及与后端部34相邻的六角形构造48。联接螺母30较佳地由诸如黄铜的金属材料制成,并镀有诸如镍的导电的耐腐蚀材料。
图3中所示的柱体60包括前端部62、后端部64以及在两端部之间延伸的开口66。柱体60还包括外表面68,外表面68在前端部62附近具有凹槽70。凹槽70还包括底面72和面向后的表面74。柱体60也由诸如黄铜的金属材料制成,并也镀有诸如锡的导电的耐腐蚀材料。
图4示出具有形状一般可描述为截头锥形的环90。环90具有内表面92、面向前的表面94和面向后的倾斜表面96。环90还具有沿一侧的开口98以允许改变环90的直径。环90较佳地由诸如热处理过的铍铜的金属材料制成并且是弹性元件。即,环90可如下所述地进行压缩和扩张。
现转到图5,同轴连接器20已如本领域中已知那样安装到同轴电缆180上。同轴连接器20的联接螺母30已转动到与端子190并特别是与端子190的螺纹192配合。应注意到在此构造中以及在图1的准备运输的构造中,联接螺母30向后偏置以与本体110配合。设置在凹槽70内的环90从凹槽70向外径向偏置,以与联接螺母30配合。较佳地,环90的外径大于联接螺母30的内径,从而致使环90与联接螺母30的内表面38配合。因此,面向后的倾斜表面96与联接螺母30的面向前的倾斜表面44配合。由于环90的面向前的表面94与凹槽70的面向后的表面74配合,所以联接螺母30朝向本体110并相对于柱体60向后偏置。
应注意到在图5中,通过联接螺母30转仅仅几圈,柱体60与端子190配合。另外,联接螺母30还未开始朝向端子190相对于柱体60与本体110作轴向运动。
图6示出与端子190完全配合的联接螺母30。由于柱体60在开始配合时已与端子190配合并且当联接螺母30转动到端子190上时,联接螺母30相对于柱体60和环90向前作轴向运动。如可在图6中所见,联接螺母30的面向前的表面44已沿面向后的倾斜表面96运动,从而径向压缩环90。由于联接螺母30的面向前的倾斜表面44与环90的面向后的倾斜表面96持续地配合,产生经过联接螺母30与环90的替代的接地路径。联接螺母30可被转动直至联接螺母30的面向前的表面42与柱体60的面向后的表面74配合。与环90的面向后的倾斜表面96配合的联接螺母30的面向前的表面44以及与凹槽70的底面72配合的环90赋予偏置或加载的轴向和径向的力,并限制联接螺母30转动。
还应注意到环90的径向向外偏置的作用还趋向于使联接螺母30相对于柱体60(以及因此相对于同轴电缆180的中心导体)对中心。环90的向外偏置还致使联接螺母30上的螺纹加载。由于联接螺母30沿向后方向(轴向)偏置,所以将力施加到端子190的螺纹192上。此力有助于保持端子190与同轴连接器20之间的有效轴向配合。此外,当同轴连接器20(以及特别是联接螺母30)无螺纹时,联接螺母30将往往突然离开端子190,从而使同轴连接器20返回到图1中所示的状态。
在图6中示出为在本体110和柱体60的接合部处的密封构件100防止湿气和碎屑进入同轴连接器20。应注意到联接螺母30在密封构件100上向前作轴向运动。如图6中所示,密封构件100是O型环。
图7示出同轴连接器20’的另一实施例。同轴连接器20’具有较大的密封构件100’。同轴连接器20’具有联接螺母30’、柱体60’、环90’、密封构件100’、本体110’、抓持构件150’和压缩环160’。一般来说,同轴连接器20’的不同之处在于联接螺母30’的内表面38’与本体110’的外表面的构造略有不同以适应于较大的密封构件100’。仅两个部件的接合部密封在同轴连接器20’内,而不是密封三个部件的接合部(即,联接螺母、柱体和本体)。其它结构以及同轴连接器20’的作业与之前实施例的相同。
在图8中示出根据本发明的同轴连接器20”的又一实施例。同轴连接器20”包括联接螺母30”、柱体60”、环90”、密封构件100”以及本体110”。同轴连接器20”构造成销型连接器结构,其中,中心导体200”和柱体60”保持与端子(未示出)接触。联接螺母30”、环90”和柱体60”的操作以与同轴连接器20相同的方式如上所述进行操作。
对本领域的技术人员来说很明显,可对本发明进行各种更改和改变而不背离本发明的精神和范围。这样,本发明应涵盖对本发明的各种修改和变型,只要它们在所附权利要求及其等效内容的范围内即可。
Claims (14)
1.一种用于将同轴电缆的端部联接至端子的同轴电缆连接器,所述同轴电缆连接器包括:
本体,所述本体包括后端部、前端部和在所述本体的所述后端部和所述前端部之间延伸的内表面,所述内表面形成纵向开口;
柱体,所述柱体至少部分地设置在所述本体的所述纵向开口内,所述柱体包括前端部和外表面,所述外表面具有与所述前端部相邻设置的凹槽;
联接螺母,所述联接螺母设置在所述本体的所述前端部附近,以与端子配合,所述联接螺母具有前端部和后端部以及在所述前端部与所述后端部之间延伸的开口,所述开口具有内表面,所述内表面具有用于与所述端子配合的螺纹部、用于与所述柱体配合的面向前的表面以及面向前的倾斜表面;以及
环,所述环呈大致截头锥形并具有内表面、面向前的表面以及面向后的倾斜表面,所述环设置在所述联接螺母与所述柱体之间的所述凹槽内,所述环向外径向偏置,从而当所述同轴电缆连接器并未连接于所述端子时,所述环的所述面向后的倾斜表面的至少一部分与所述联接螺母的所述面向前的倾斜表面的至少一部分配合;以及
密封构件,所述密封构件设置在所述联接螺母(30)与所述柱体和所述本体中至少一个之间。
2.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,还包括设置在所述联接螺母的所述内表面上的密封构件以防止湿气进入。
3.如权利要求2所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述密封构件设置在所述联接螺母和所述柱体之间。
4.如权利要求2所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述密封构件设置在所述联接螺母和所述本体之间。
5.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述联接螺母相对于所述柱体的向前运动径向压缩所述环,从而提供所述联接螺母与所述柱体之间的电气连通。
6.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,当所述同轴电缆连接器未连接到所述端子时,所述环使所述联接螺母相对于所述柱体向后偏置。
7.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述环具有沿一侧的开口,以允许所述环改变直径尺寸。
8.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述联接螺母在端子上的转动使所述柱体偏置抵靠所述端子以保持与所述端子的接触。
9.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述环的所述内表面与所述柱体的所述凹槽的底面配合,而在所述连接器完全连接到所述端子时,所述联接螺母的所述面向前的表面与所述凹槽的面向后的表面配合。
10.一种用于将同轴电缆的端部联接至端子的同轴电缆连接器,所述同轴电缆连接器包括:
本体,所述本体包括后端部、前端部和在所述本体的所述后端部和所述前端部之间延伸的内表面,所述内表面形成纵向开口;
柱体,所述柱体至少部分地设置在所述本体的所述纵向开口内,所述柱体包括前端部和外表面,所述外表面具有凹槽;
联接螺母,所述联接螺母设置在所述本体的所述前端部附近,以与端子配合,所述联接螺母具有前端部和后端部以及在所述前端部与所述后端部之间延伸的开口,所述开口具有内表面,所述内表面具有用于与所述端子配合的螺纹部、用于与所述柱体配合的面向前的表面以及面向前的倾斜表面;
环,所述环呈大致截头锥形并具有内表面、面向前的表面以及面向后的倾斜表面,所述环设置在所述联接螺母与所述柱体之间的所述凹槽内,所述环向外径向偏置,从而在所述同轴电缆连接器未连接到所述端子时,所述环的面向后的倾斜表面的至少一部分与所述联接螺母的面向前的倾斜表面的至少一部分配合,且产生所述环的所述内表面和所述凹槽之间的环状间隙;以及
密封构件,所述密封构件设置在所述联接螺母(30)与所述柱体和所述本体中至少一个之间。
11.如权利要求10所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,还包括设置在所述联接螺母的所述内表面上的密封构件以防止湿气进入。
12.如权利要求11所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述密封构件设置在所述联接螺母和所述柱体之间。
13.如权利要求11所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述密封构件设置在所述联接螺母和所述本体之间。
14.如权利要求10所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,在与所述端子联接时,所述联接螺母相对于所述柱体作轴向运动。
