Abstract

A silicon sol guniting material for a main runner of a blast furnace comprises 7.2 wt% to 18 wt% of silicon sol solution, 0.01 wt% to 3 wt% of dispersion agent consisting of polycarbonate polymer, and the remained residual dry material, which is based on 100 wt% of silicon sol solution. The solid content of silicon dioxide in the silicon sol solution is 20 wt% to 40 wt%, based on 100 wt% of the silicon sol guniting material, while the dry material comprises 45 wt% to 75 wt% of the aluminum oxide, 7 wt% to 20 wt% of a combination of silicon carbide and carbon and trace amount of silicon dioxide, silicon, aluminum and boron carbide. The present invention uses silicon sol solution as a binder for polycondensation reaction for curing. Product of hydration is not present during the reaction, and water is present as crystallized water to allow rapid and sufficient drying, thereby shortening the maintenance and repair time of a main runner of a blast furnace.
