Description

具有內部排液構件的眼科鏡片包裝
本發明關於用於眼科鏡片、特別是軟式隱形眼鏡之存儲和運輸的包裝。更特定言之,本發明關於具有內部排液系統的包裝,該內部排液系統允許在從該包裝移除該眼科鏡片時讓該鏡片與該溶液分開。
軟式隱形眼鏡自1970年代引進以來日益受到歡迎。因為生產成本逐漸降低,軟式隱形眼鏡現在對於消費大眾來說是一種有吸引力且經濟的選擇。此等鏡片可被消費者經常更換(例如以每天或每週為基準)且不需要像傳統隱形眼鏡那樣頻繁地清潔或消毒。當然,消費者會想要在手頭上保有與鏡片更換頻率相稱的鏡片供應量。因此,消費者對於拋棄式軟式隱形眼鏡的需求已造成對於容易使用且平價之拋棄式包裝的需求。此等包裝應被建構成為鏡片提供安全的存儲和運輸。亦期望個別包裝盡可能地小,使其可被輕易且不引人注目地儲存和攜帶。
軟式隱形眼鏡通常被打包並儲存於一水合狀態,這要求鏡片被密封在具備一存儲溶液的包裝內。一種被廣泛使用的包裝是〝泡形包裝(blister pack)〞,其大體上包含一具有一平坦上表面的剛性塑膠容器,具備一裝有單個眼科鏡片暨一份溶液的凹井。該凹井被一沿該上表面之周長密封的可撓蓋子覆蓋。此等泡形包裝被裝箱以供運輸和存儲直到消費者需要一鏡片為止。然後消費者從該泡形包裝撕下該可撓蓋使眼科鏡片外露。然後消費者將鏡片連同沙林溶液倒到手上,將鏡片放到手指尖上以供施加於眼睛。
今仍需要包括用於眼科鏡片之存儲和運輸之一溶液但允許在從包裝移除鏡片時使溶液與鏡片分開的眼科鏡片包裝系統。
一種眼科鏡片包裝,其包含:一殼體,其定義一開口且有一可經由該開口進出的內部腔室;及用於將該腔室分隔成一上部室和一下部室的分隔構件,該分隔構件允許水性液體在該上部室與該下部室之間滲透。
為更完整地理解本發明,以下搭配隨附圖式提出本發明之詳細說明。
在本說明書中,〝眼科鏡片〞一辭意指一停放在一眼睛上的器件,非侷限性包括硬式隱形眼鏡、軟式隱形眼鏡、眼內鏡片及覆蓋式鏡片,較佳為軟式隱形眼鏡。一依據本發明第一較佳實施例之眼科鏡片包裝2示於圖1-4。參照圖1-4,一眼科鏡片包裝2有一殼體4具備一內部腔室6及一面上周緣8。一排液構件10譬如一網狀物或一有孔塑膠片被固定到殼體4以便將內部腔室6分隔成一上部室12和一下部室14。一密封蓋16譬如一箔構件被用來密封殼體4之內部腔室6。密封蓋16之一周圍部分18被固定到殼體4之面上周緣8以便沿著整個面上周緣8形成一連續液密密封。密封蓋16具備一凸片20,該凸片伸出密封蓋16之周圍部分18以外使得凸片20可被當作一用於使密封蓋16從殼體4分開的握把。消費者拿取眼科鏡片22的方式為抓住凸片20將其往上拉並橫越殼體4之面上周緣8,藉此使密封蓋16從殼體4分開並露出眼科鏡片22以供使用者取出(見圖2和4)。
排液構件10被安排在內部腔室6內,使得眼科鏡片22可以一倒置姿態放在排液構件10上位於上部室12內而不接觸到密封於殼體4的密封蓋16。當眼科鏡片包裝2係為了眼科鏡片22之運輸或存儲而製備時,要將一份沙林溶液24包容在殼體4之內部腔室6內。沙林溶液24的容積小於下部室14的容積,使得整份沙林溶液24可在眼科鏡片包裝2被以一水平姿態儲存時被容納在下部室14內(舉例來說見圖1和2)。
當眼科鏡片容器2在一水平姿態下運輸或儲存時,大致所有沙林溶液24留在下部室14內。來自沙林溶液24的水蒸汽通過排液構件10滲入上部室12內,使得眼科鏡片22在上部室12之水蒸汽飽和環境中保持水合。萬一有一些沙林溶液24進入上部室12,沙林溶液24會在眼科鏡片包裝2回到一水平姿態時通過排液構件10排回下部室14內(舉例來說見圖1和2)。此排液作用允許消費者不用將手指插入停滯的沙林溶液內即可取出鏡片。較佳來說,此排液作用會讓眼科鏡片22會在消費者取出眼科鏡片22時是大致沒有沙林溶液24的。因此,最好排液構件10被安排為允許沙林溶液24快速且完整地排離上部室12。因此,排液構件10較佳是一大網目網狀物,但作為另一選擇亦可使用一疏水性塑膠材料之一有孔構件。
一依據本發明第二較佳實施例之眼科鏡片包裝102示於圖5-7。該第二實施例與該第一實施例共有之特徵的參考數字是以第一實施例之說明中使用的參考數字加上一百(100)。
參照圖5-7,一眼科鏡片包裝102有一殼體104具備一內部腔室106及一面上周緣108。一排液構件110(其在本第二實施例中是一疏水性塑膠的有孔構件)被模造在殼體104內且被安排為將內部腔室106分隔成一上部室112和一下部室114。一密封蓋116譬如一箔構件(見圖6)被用來密封殼體104之內部腔室106。密封蓋116之一周圍部分118被固定到殼體104之面上周緣108以便沿著整個面上周緣108形成一連續液密密封。密封蓋116具備一凸片120,該凸片伸出周緣108以外使得凸片120可被當作一用於使密封蓋116從殼體104分開的握把。排液構件110被安排在內部腔室106內,使得一軟式隱形眼鏡(圖中未示)可以一倒置姿態放在排液構件110上位於上部室112內而不接觸到密封於殼體104的密封蓋116。當眼科鏡片包裝102係為了眼科鏡片之運輸或存儲而製備時,要將一份沙林溶液(圖中未示)包容在殼體104之內部腔室106內。該沙林溶液的容積小於下部室114的容積,使得整份沙林溶液可在眼科鏡片包裝102被以一水平姿態儲存時被容納在下部室114內。眼科鏡片包裝102更具備一握把部分126,該握把部分從殼體104以一遠離內部腔室106之方向延伸。握把部分126可具備一抓握表面、譬如一有凸脊130的拇指放置凹處128。
消費者以一與針對第一實施例(亦即眼科鏡片包裝2)說明之方式相似的方式拿取眼科鏡片。消費者將握把部分126抓在一隻手的手指間且將凸片120抓在另一隻手的手指間。然後消費者將凸片120往上拉並橫越殼體104之面上周緣108,藉此使密封蓋116從殼體104分開並露出眼科鏡片以供使用者取出。
如同第一實施例,第二實施例(亦即眼科鏡片包裝102)的眼科鏡片於運輸和存儲期間在已從下部室114沙林溶液滲透之水蒸汽的上部室112水蒸汽飽和環境中保持水合。進入上部室112之任何沙林溶液會在眼科鏡片包裝102回到一水平姿態時通過排液構件110排回下部室114內,留下沒有沙林溶液的眼科鏡片。
本發明之殼體可由多種已知材料製造,譬如聚丙烯、聚乙烯及類似物。本發明之眼科鏡片包裝2、102可被製造為具有一尺寸是約2-3 cm乘約2-3 cm且深度約0.5 cm的內部腔室,其最小尺寸僅受欲存放之眼科鏡片的大小以及欲提供之沙林溶液(或其他含有眼藥、潤濕劑、抗菌劑及類似物之眼科溶液)的容積限制。較佳來說,溶液量介於約900 μ L與約1,500 μ L之間,更佳介於約900 μ L與約1,000 μ L之間。所得整體小尺寸的眼科鏡片包裝允許其可被輕易且不引人注目地攜帶。殼體的蓋子可由箔/聚合物層壓物或共擠出物製成,由一金屬層譬如鋁及一或多個聚合物層譬如聚丙烯塗佈於該金屬層製成。蓋子材料可包括當作空氣懸浮污染物之障壁並且可氣密密封於該殼體的任何撓性材料。
亦可方便地儲存多個眼科鏡片包裝。舉例來說,圖8例示一存儲展示排列132,其中有六個眼科鏡片包裝2被安裝在一掛板紙卡134上,整體大小約為12 cm乘18 cm。
應理解到本說明書所述實施例僅為範例,熟習此技藝者可不脫離本發明之精神及範圍作出許多變化和修改。舉例來說,可利用一薄膜或箔以外的結構來密封眼科鏡片包裝的內部腔室。此等結構之實例包括栓塞或螺旋塞配件。眼科鏡片包裝之殼體可具有被建構為異於第二實施例所示握把部分的握把部分且可具有一以上之握把部分。希望將所有此等變化和修改、包括在說明書詳細說明中提及者均包容於本發明的範圍內。

Claims (9)

  1. 一種眼科鏡片包裝,其包含:一殼體,其定義一開口且有一可經由該開口進出的內部腔室;用於將該腔室分隔成一上部室和一下部室的分隔構件,該上部室具有一可經由該開口進出的內部,該分隔構件允許水性液體在該上部室與該下部室之間滲透,蓋構件,包含一箔/聚合物層壓物或共擠出物,用以封蓋該開口及形成一液密、氣密密封於該殼體;一眼科鏡片,其被完全容納在該上部室內;及一份裝在該腔室內之水性溶液,該下部室具有一大到足以容納該份水性溶液全部的容積。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項之包裝,其中該分隔構件被安排為允許水性液體從該上部室排到該下部室內。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第2項之包裝,其中該分隔構件包含一網狀物。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第2項之包裝,其中該分隔構件包含一具有貫通穿孔的塑膠構件。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項之包裝,其中該蓋構件有一具備一可抓持凸片的邊緣。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1項之包裝,其中該上部室之該內部的大小和形狀被訂定為將一眼科鏡片完全容納在該上部室內且該下部室有一大小被訂定為容納一水性液 體的內部。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第1項之包裝,其更包含一可抓持握把。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第1項之包裝,其中該殼體包括一定義該開口的框緣,其中該蓋構件該框緣形成一液密、氣密密封。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第8項之包裝,其中該蓋構件包括具備一可抓持凸片的邊緣。
