Abstract

A trigger switch capable of using common components in case of selective manufacture among a trigger switch imparting with a safety switch function, a trigger switch imparting with a circuit holding function, and a trigger switch imparting with both the safety switch function and the circuit holding function. The trigger has a mutually confronting first wall and a second wall. The first wall is formed with a first bore portion having a trigger pulling preventing portion and a trigger pulling allowing portion. The second wall is formed with a second bore portion having a press button passing portion and a press button engaging portion. One of first through third press buttons having configuration different from one another is selectively assembled with the trigger. If the first press button is assembled, it is operated in association with the first bore portion only for imparting the resultant trigger switch with the safety switch function. If the second press button is assembled, it is operated in association with the trigger pulling allowing portion and the second bore portion for imparting the resultant trigger switch with the circuit holding function. If the third press button is assembled, it is operated in association with the first and second bore portions for imparting the resultant trigger switch with both safety switch and circuit holding functions.
