Abstract

The invention provides a kind aluminum-based composite filler compound for brazing which comprises a filler alloy base material and a ceramic reinforcement with additive of 5% to 15% by volume. The aluminum-based composite filler compound is best used as the filler of brazing aluminum-based composite material wherein the filler alloy base material of the aluminum-based composite filler compound is selected from the aluminum alloy in a group composed of AlSi, AlSiCu, AlSiZn, AlSiCuZn, AlZnSi, AlGe and AlGeSi. The ceramic reinforcement is the aluminum oxide or silicon carbonate. The invented filler compound can be made as a thin strip type or paste and by suitably selecting the component of filler base material, it can provide excellent wettability and bonding interface between aluminum-based composite filler and the aluminum-based composite material brazing material to be welded. The invention can achieve high bonding strength than traditional method and the temperature range suitable for the brazing is wider that it makes the process control of brazing easier.
