An aparatu for processing binaural signals, including first and second signal paths for receiving as inputs, left and right binaural signals, including the signal signal path a first summing juntiion and the second signal path including a second summing junction, the output of the summing junction coupled b a first cross-path to an input of summing junction, and the output of summing junction being coupled by a second cross-path to an input of junction; the first and second cross-paths including respective first and second filter means, which including crosstalk filters, each havng a transfer function A/S,, representing respectively far-ear and near-ear HRTFs, where the first and the second junction output representing the crosstalk signals.
