Abstract

A composite layered steel mold block comprising: a powder special steel layer with a thickness between 1mm to 40mm, the powder special steel layer being a high speed steel and tool steel produced by a particle metallurgy or powder metallurgy process; a conventional steel layer being a steel material made by smelting or secondary refining of a conventional metallurgy process; in which the carbon content in the steel material is equal to or greater than 0.30% or the content of alloy elements is greater than 10%; and a metal solder film between the powder special steel layer and the conventional steel layer; in which the metal solder film is made by putting a metal solder between the powder special steel layer and the conventional steel layer, and heating the solder to a brazing temperature of the metal solder in the range 50-150℃ in a vacuum below 0.1 torr or low pressure and maintaining the temperature for 10-30 minutes for the metal solder to be dissolved completely, subsequently filling the molten solder between the powder special steel layer and the conventional steel layer, then reducing the temperature to cool and solidify the solder to form a metal solder film between the powder special steel layer and the conventional steel layer.
