Abstract

The generator comprises an enclosure (110) housing a light source and incorporating an ellipsoid portion (111) with a reflective surface, the light source being placed at the focal point located in this portion. Advantageously this portion is a semi-ellipsoid portion and the enclosure (110) also has an annular, semi-spherical portion (112) with a reflective surface sitting over the semi-ellipsoid portion, centered on said focal point (F'1), aligned with the major axis (116) of the ellipsoid defined by this portion of the semi-ellipsoid, and having an opening (114) at its top similarly aligned with said major axis (116). A tubular cylindrical section (113) with a reflective surface can also sit at one of its ends on the opening (114). Means are provided for making the generator waterproof.; In another aspect of the invention, the enclosure constitutes the walls of a sealed lamp, the opening at the top of the lamp being hermetically closed by a transparent cover.
