Abstract

A dioptre-adjusting mechanism for binoculars has a holding device for holding an optical component, a dioptre-adjusting ring rotatable about the optical axis of the optical element, a dioptre-adjusting device in engagement with the holding device and the dioptre-adjusting ring in order to rotate the dioptre-adjusting ring and thereby to move the holding device in the direction of the optical axis and thereby to carry out a dioptre adjustment, and rotation-restraining means for preventing the dioptre-adjusting ring from being moved inadvertently by making the dioptre-adjusting ring to be non-rotatable.
