Abstract
PURPOSE:To lock a diopter adjustment ring easily after diopter adjustment by providing a detaining member to the diopter adjustment ring and providng an eyepiece part body, which corresponds to the detaining member, with an engaging member which has engaging parts where the detaining member is capable of engaging. CONSTITUTION:On the external circumferential surface of a diopter adjustment ring 18, a knurling tool for 19 preventing a slide is provided, and on the circumferential surface, a spiral cam surface 20 engaging with the head of a guide pin 14 is also provided. On the internal circumferential surface of the ring 18, a detaining member capable of sliding in the optical axis direction, e.g. a detaining pin 23 is fitted freely. After diopter adjustment is made by turning the ring 18 to obtain a clear object image, an operating member 31 is drawn down to engage the detaining pin 23 in the upper recess part of an engaging ring 25. Thus, the diopter adjustment ring is locked easily to the engaging ring provided fixedly through the detaining pin 23, so that it is held without turning.
