Abstract

A circuit breaker, which comprises a base, a cover, a pivotally supported handle, a movable contact connected to the fixed movable contact of the front end of the handle, a fixed contact installed in a configuration capable of contacting with or departing from the movable contact, a trip device which deforms the trip plate in case of occurrence of abnormal current, a cradle of which one end is rotably supported on the base and the other end is suspended on the trip plate, and an open/close spring installed between the cradle and the movable contact; which is characterized in that the support arm, which is protruded on the base, rotably suspends the trip plate and utilizes the spring to apply a force in the direction opposite to the deformation direction of the trip plate sideward above the trip plate.
