Abstract

A vacuum cleaner having an anion generating device and providing a purified and delightful room air. The main container of the vacuum cleaner includes a dirt collection chamber receiving a dirt collection bag, a middle partition for partitioning the dirt collection chamber from a motor chamber. The middle partition having a safety filter. The motor chamber includes a motor assembly, anion generating device and a transformer mounted on opposed sides of the motor assembly. A discharge chamber is defined at the back of the motor chamber and surrounded by a motor supporter of the motor assembly, a pair of filter fixture plates of the motor supporter and a second exhaust filter of an exhaust port of the main container. The anion generating device comprises an anion generator for generating high voltage, and a discharge unit for discharging electrons in the exhaust air in response to the high voltage of the anion generator, thus to generate anions in the exhaust air.
