Abstract

1,170,460. Vacuum cleaners. ELECTROLUX Ltd. 30 June, 1967 [22 Julv, 19661, No. 30336/67. Heading A4F. [Also in Division B1] A vacuum cleaner comprising a dust collector and a motor-fan unit 27 disposed in a casing 10 having suction and exhaust openings for air conveyed through the cleaner by the motor-fan unit is characterized in that the exhaust opening 21 is situated below the motor-fan unit and is arranged to direct air to a discharge location at the rear of the cleaner via a pas sage 22. A fine filter 29 which may comprise a frame 32 supporting one or more filter sheets 30, 31 may form part of a diffusing chamber 26 at the discharge location, the diffusing chamber 26 being in connection with the passage 22 which may comprise releasably connectible parts 23, 24, 25. The part 23 may be provided with an annular projection 39 which is held in sealing engagement with a groove 40 adjacent the exhaust opening when the part 23 is held by a bar 43 in engagement with the part 22 and the exhaust opening may comprise part of a bayonet joint. A rear portion of the casing 10 may house a cable reel 13 and support an electric operating switch 15.
