Abstract

One type of machine vision algorithm and device for sorting and inspecting multiple objects with different color as the control of automatic color inspecting and sorting, consists of the following procedures: 1. from a color camera the image of single color object is grabbed; 2. storing the color image in memory and extracting the color features from the image. The color features are represented by auto color classification and inspection notation which consists of the counts of color appearances, the red components, the green components, the blue components and the degree of color variation. 3. based on the above color features, when the color difference value is larger or smaller than a preset threshold value of N.G objects, an N.G signal is output. 4. on initial execution the color path is automatically set up. With a preset numbers of path each color has its individual path depending on the color of inspected object. Then for each coming object its color is recognized automatically and is conducted into the correct preset color path. 5. output the final result and control signal of above procedure.
