Abstract

Acid-containing smoking products

The present invention relates to smoking articles containing acid.

Generally speaking, tobacco refers to a dicotyledonous perennial plant of the Solanaceae family. Recently, tobacco is also a general term for smoking products in which tobacco leaves are wrapped in cigarette paper and a filter rod is arranged on one side. There are many types of tobacco available around the world and come in many shapes and types.

Tobacco smoke is produced when tobacco is burned or heated. Tobacco smoke produced during smoking can be divided into mainstream smoke (main stream smoke) and side stream smoke. Main stream smoke is transported to the mouth through the filter rod, while side stream smoke does not pass through the filter rod. in the air. Tobacco smoke contains nicotine.

Example 1

Experimental Example 1: Sensory evaluation of the stimulation reduction effect when using a smoking system

A sensory evaluation was conducted to determine the effect of reducing irritation by applying the smoking products of Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6. In the cases where the acid was added to the filter (Comparative Examples 1 to 3) and the acid was added to the cigarette (Comparative Examples 4 to 6), Comparative Example 1 had the best irritation reduction effect. On the other hand, Example 2 is more effective in reducing irritation than Comparative Example 1. That is, when pyruvic acid is added to the plug part and lactic acid is added to the shredded tobacco part, irritation during smoking can be reduced compared to the case where only pyruvic acid is added to the plug part.

Example 1 is superior to Example 2 in reducing irritation, and reduces irritation more effectively than Comparative Example 1. That is, when pyruvic acid is added to the filter portion and lactic acid and citric acid are added to the tobacco portion, the provided smoking product has the least odor and reduces irritation most effectively.

According to the above experimental examples, it can be seen that when it is within the mass ratio range of the acid described in the patent scope of the present invention, it has the best irritation reducing effect.

Experimental Example 2: Sensory evaluation of aroma, taste and irritation when using smoking products

The specific components and contents of Examples 1 to 3 and Comparative Example 1 are shown in Table 3 below. For sensory evaluation, the target substance was injected into each plug part and each shredded tobacco part in the amount shown in Table 3. Specifically, the target substance diluted with MCTG is injected into the filter rod part, and the target substance diluted with alcohol (ethanol) is injected into the shredded tobacco part.

Example 1 was superior in reducing taste and irritation compared with the control group. The aroma is enhanced because of the sourness produced by the acid.

The sensory evaluation results of Example 1 showed the same taste intensity and irritation reducing effect as when flavoring was added. In this embodiment, a small amount of undecanolide is added. As one of the raw materials of spices, undecanolide can usually give cigarettes a soft taste and aroma. The content of undecanolide is 0.005% relative to cut tobacco.

It was confirmed that the pyruvic acid content in the filter rod part was 0.01% by weight or more and less than 0.1% by weight relative to the cut tobacco; the lactic acid content in the cut tobacco part was 0.01% by weight or more and 2% by weight relative to the cut tobacco, and the citric acid content was 0.01% by weight relative to the cut tobacco. Smoking products containing more than 10% by weight and less than 10% by weight have excellent effects on reducing negative taste intensity and irritation.
