Abstract

To desalinate main ash for use as a raw material for cement, while holding operating costs and equipment costs low. A main ash desalination method that involves dissolving a main ash by adding water at a weight that is at least 0.1 times the weight of the main ash but less than the weight of the main ash, classifying a main ash slurry remaining after dissolution, and water washing a fine particle slurry obtained by classification. Crude particles obtained by classification can be used as raw materials for cement. The main ash slurry may be sprinkled with water during classification, the classification point for classification may be set to more than 0.5 mm and at most 1 mm, or an acidic gas may be added to the fine particle slurry during water washing. The crude particles obtained by classification may be used as raw materials for cement after blowing air, or fine particles obtained by solid-liquid separation after water washing or while water washing of the fine particle slurry obtained by classification may be used as raw materials for cement.
