Abstract

Description

包含超薄光學部件的眼科鏡片
本揭示係關於眼科鏡片,特別是對於當作眼科裝置使用或用在眼科裝置中,用以模製及組裝超薄光學部件之方法。
多年來,已將隱形眼鏡用於改善視力。早期的隱形眼鏡設計是由硬材料做成,例如聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)。然而,這些鏡片因為相對上氧氣穿透性低而令人不適,並且為患者帶來各種問題。之後,使用基於水凝膠之材料,開發出氧氣可滲透之軟性隱形眼鏡。雖然現在的水凝膠鏡片極為流行,該產業界仍持續關注著要改良鏡片設計,或開發一特定條件用的鏡片。
例如,老花(眼)通常一種是與年齡有關的狀況,其中,該等眼睛聚焦於近物的能力日益衰退。該結果造成許多人需要變焦或雙焦眼鏡。這些眼鏡有些結合了嘗試以該等相同鏡片來矯正近視及遠視的鏡片。關於隱形眼鏡,有些人選擇了一眼矯正近視且一眼矯正遠視的隱形眼鏡,但副作用會包括深度知覺的干擾,這是因為兩眼未同時聚焦所致。
液態鏡片技術已在醫療成像裝置、微型相機、以及光 纖電信系統的使用方面迅速發展。一液態鏡片使用一或多種流體來建立一變焦鏡片而無需任何活動部件。在大部分情況下,是在一封閉的裝置中提供兩種不互溶的流體,一種是導電的水溶液,另一種是非導電的油。可將一種疏水性塗料塗敷至該裝置內部,例如,用以迫使該水溶液朝向該裝置不具有疏水性塗料之一部分,流進一半球的透鏡狀的組態。在稱為電濕潤之一程序中,跨越該疏水性塗料施加非常微小的直流電壓,使該塗料的斥水性降低。該液體的表面張力透過該程序改變,改變該彎月面之曲率半徑,從而改變該等鏡片的焦距。因此,一液態鏡片能夠在數毫秒內,以僅僅0.1微焦耳的電壓,從一凸(收斂)轉換成一凹(發散)鏡片狀。
老花(眼)的一種解決方案可仰賴該建立一多狀態液態 彎月面鏡片的能力,這能力允許一位人員控制,例如,該等鏡片的放大及縮小功能。然而,該製造此類眼科鏡片的能力,取決於該建立並且組裝超薄光學品質部件的能力(在製造期間是不變形的)。
根據本揭示之態樣設計眼科裝置時,需使用超薄材 料,這在該等零件部分的成形及處理方面必須極為小心。即使有小心處理,超薄部件仍時常會翹曲、捲曲或不可逆變形。需要方法及系統能夠組裝,例如,在成形、處理及組裝期間,使用超薄部件將液體填充眼科裝置不會變形。
本揭示包括使用一具有可退出模具部件之模具組件(assembly),用於組裝超薄零件光學品質部件/片的方法及設備。該 等模具部件係設計成在整個組裝程序期間,支撐且維持該等易碎超薄部件的完整性。
本發明包括由複數個超薄部件構成一眼科鏡片之揭 示,其中各超薄部件貫穿該組裝程序,維持與一模具部件支撐面接觸。單獨的模具部件(有一超薄部件緊固於其中)係在進入一液態鏡片組裝站之前,從一模製設備退出。該等模具部件能組態成以一有助於在該等液態鏡片從該基材移開前進行最後組裝之方式,在該液態鏡片組裝站中的一水溶液內進行嵌合。

在本揭示之又另外態樣中,揭露的是一種製造一適用 於眼科裝置之液態鏡片的方法。本方法包括:在一第一模具區塊之凹或凸基材表面上,界定一第一超薄光學部件;在一第二模具區塊之凹或凸基材表面上,界定一第二超薄光學部件;在該第一模具區塊之凹基材表面所支撐該第一超薄光學部件形成之一腔穴,與該第二模具區塊之凸基材表面所支撐該第二超薄光學部件之間,含有一 或多種流體;建立一密封體,密封體在介於該第一模具區塊之凹或凸基材表面所支撐第一超薄光學部件,與該第二模具區塊之凹或凸基材表面所支撐第二超薄光學部件之間的腔穴中,含有該一或多種流體;以及將該第一超薄光學部件從該第一模具區塊之支撐凹基材表面移開,及將該第二超薄光學部件從該第二模具區塊之支撐凸基材表面移開。

名詞解釋

在一些實施例中,該基材101能包括對準特徵110,該對準特徵110能對應於一第二基材或模具片上之對準特徵,例如基材201(顯示於圖2)。在一些態樣中,能使用該凹底基材成形表面105支撐之該超薄光學片102,將該等對準特徵110用於組裝一液態鏡片組件500(顯示於圖5)。在一些實施例中,該等對準特徵110能包括機械特徵(例如一運動架座)及另外的機電手段。

典型模具系統中習知的工具準備(tooling)機制及處理手段,無法在組裝期間處理單獨的超薄光學片102及202而未使這些部件的該等精微結構翹曲、捲曲或變形。整個工具準備程序需要固定的結構支撐,以在生產該液態鏡片組件500期間,維持該等超薄光學片102及202的形狀完整性及材料性質。組合部件僅在完全組裝到該液態鏡片組件500內時,才能夠在結構上以一種可接受的方式進 行而無該等部件個別遇到過的問題。
能以類似超薄光學片102的製造方式形成超薄光學片202,差別在於該等基材101及201可有不同的組態。按照這種方式,超薄光學片202可使用一第二模具組件(其組態有別於針對超薄光學片102所揭露者),為的是要賦予該液態鏡片組件500背光學元件部分所需的光學品質。例如,賦予超薄光學片202之曲率量會與賦予超薄光學片102之曲率量有所不同。因此,雖然本揭示之一些態樣可僅關於超薄光學片102及/或關於該模具組件(未圖示)或基材101及201而述,仍應理解的是,實質相同的該等方法、部件或裝置對熟悉此項技術者將是顯而易知。
在一些實施例中,該可移開基材201之態樣可具體成形,而有助於在該液態鏡片成形期間安置該基材201,及/或讓該基材201在該超薄光學片202成形後易於從該模具組件(未圖示)退出。 例如,該基材之對準特徵210能包括機械特徵(例如一運動架座)及另外的機電手段。
現請參照圖3,其根據本揭示之態樣,繪示在一流體301下組裝圖1之該例示性凹基材101及圖2之該例示性凸基材201。如前所示,可退出基材101及201能支撐超薄光學片102及202,以在一或多種流體下形成一液態鏡片組件500。例如,可在兩個超薄光學片102與202之間成形之一拱狀腔穴中,含有食鹽溶液301以及油305。 在一些較佳實施例中,該腔穴內所含食鹽溶液301之體積大於腔穴內所含油305之體積。此外,部分較佳實施例能包括該食鹽溶液301,其基本上與該後曲面超薄光學片202之一內表面完全接觸。一些實施例可包括油305之體積,其相較於食鹽溶液301之量,體積為約66% 或更多。一些其他實施例可包括一拱形液態彎月面鏡片組件500,其中油305的體積與食鹽溶液301的量相比,油305的體積為其體積的90%或更少。
根據本揭示之態樣,可在該水溶液301中將該等基材101及201浸沒,同時可在該水溶液中,將該等基材101及201嵌合,如圖4所示。因此,如所述,基材101及201係一區塊之可移開零件,用以形成該等超薄光學片102及202。可在一模具組件400(顯示於圖4)中,將該等基材101及201排列成一「三明治結構」。該正面模具基材101位於其頂部,而該模具部件之凹成形表面105則面朝下。該背面基材201能在該正面基材101的底部對稱而置,該背面基材101之凸成形表面205部分突進該正面基材101之凹區。較佳的是,能使該背面基材201形成所需之尺寸,將該凸面205接合該前曲基材101之凹面105的外緣(其整個周圍),藉以協同形成含有該食鹽溶液301及油305之一密封腔穴。

由於能在該水溶液內組裝該液態鏡片組件500(顯示於圖5),一旦該等超薄光學片102及202互相黏合/結合(較佳的是在各部件的一外周邊附近),便能在該等超薄光學片102與202之間,壓縮及捕集該一或多種水溶液301及305,提升該部件的結構完整性。
現請參照圖5,所示為結合該等超薄光學片102及202將該一或多液體301及305封裝後,從該模具組件400釋離之一液態鏡片500。該等超薄光學片102及202之結構完整性因其中含有該等液體301及305而指數級更大。該指數級更大的結構強度能允許以某種方式操控該液態鏡片500,以致能將其結合及/或作為一眼科鏡片而不影響該等超薄光學片102及202之光學品質。因此,該液態鏡片組件500能具有足夠的結構,以致該液態鏡片組件500的任何進一步處理、清理及/或封裝,對個別超薄光學片102及202之鏡面之不可逆翹曲、捲曲或變形都將具有彈性。
該第一超薄光學片102之撓曲模數例如與該第二超薄光學片202之撓曲模數結合,整體提升該裝置的結構穩度。再者,由於能例如藉由擠壓該周邊恰好相對(diametrically opposed)的部分,迫使該液態鏡片組件500進入一偏差狀態,該等超薄光學片102與202之間所捕集液體之二次動量,指數級增加該液態鏡片組件500持續偏差的阻力。該液態鏡片組件500從而藉由該等超薄光學片102與202 之間的密封溶液,趨向於阻止偏差而保持該等超薄光學片102及202每一者預成形的形狀。
可將該液態鏡片用於提供一通電可變度數液態彎月面眼科鏡片。例如,該等超薄光學片102及202能呈透明,並且其中心可包括可為一絕緣液體之一第一液體301、以及其為一導電液體之一第二液體305。該等第一液體301及第二液體305一般為具有不同光學指數之不可混溶的液體。可將面向一凹口開放之一環形電極(未圖示)置於超薄光學片202的一後面部。另一電極可經置放而與該導電液305接觸。藉由對該等電極施以一電壓的方式,建立電濕潤作用,並以該等電極之間施加的電壓修改兩種液體之間該介面的曲率。通過與上盤和下盤垂直且在該滴絕緣液體區域內之電池的光束將根據對電極所施加之電壓以更大或更小的程度聚焦。該導電液通常是一含水鹽液體(例如301),並且該絕緣液體通常是一油性溶液(例如305)。然而,在本揭示範疇內的其他實施例中,此中心能包括其他類型或組合之非氣態媒介物。
在一些實施例中,該鏡片材料可為任何適合的聚合物材料,例如一水凝膠、聚矽氧水凝膠、聚矽氧丙烯酸酯或氟-聚矽氧丙烯酸酯。該鏡片材料可在一開始呈一熔融狀態,並且係例如直接注入該模具腔穴。該等超薄光學片102及202可根據相同或其他技術予以模製,包括例如旋轉鑄製、車削、鑽石切削或雷射切割。雖然本文所述係關於一前光學元件部分以及後光學元件部分,仍將用於模製及組裝超薄光學片102及202之該等方法以及設備,用於模製任何傳統需要單獨處理並且組裝的多種模製型部件。
現請參照圖6,其根據本揭示之態樣,繪示能用於製 造一液態鏡片500之超薄光學部件的方法步驟600。從步驟601開始,能在一第一基材101之凹光學品質成形表面105上,形成一第一超薄光學片。於步驟605,能於一第二基材201之凸光學品質成形表面205上,形成一第二超薄光學片。該第一及第二基材101及201各能分別形成一區塊之一部分,係用於個別地形成該及一凸光學品質成形表面205之每一端。該等光學品質表面能為兩個不同基材101及201之一部分,這兩個不同基材101及201各形成一區塊之一部分,用於形成該等超薄光學片102及202。如前述,可使用包括例如射出成形、旋轉鑄製、車削、鑽石切削或雷射切割等技術,形成及/或模製該等超薄光學片102及202。

Claims (20)

  1. 一種製造適用於一眼科裝置之一液態鏡片的方法,該方法包含:界定一第一超薄光學片在一第一區塊之一凹基材表面上;界定一第二超薄光學片在一第二區塊之一凸基材表面上;包含一或多種流體,其在一腔穴和該第二超薄光學片之間,該腔穴係由該第一超薄光學片所形成,該第一超薄光學片係由該第一區塊的該凹基材表面所支撐,該第二超薄光學片係由該第二區塊的該凸基材表面所支撐;建立一密封體,該密封體在該腔穴包含該一或多種流體,該腔穴介於該第一超薄光學片和該第二超薄光學片之間,該第一超薄光學片係由該第一區塊的該凹基材表面所支撐,該第二超薄光學片係由該第二區塊的該凸基材表面所支撐;以及移開該第一超薄光學片及該第二超薄光學片之一或二者,該第一超薄光學片係從該第一區塊的該支撐凹基材表面移開,該第二超薄光學片係從該第二區塊的該支撐凸基材表面移開。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,更包含:界定該第一超薄光學片及該第二超薄光學片之每一者的周邊之至少一部分中之互鎖特徵。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之方法,更包含:對準在該第一超薄光學片中界定的該互鎖結構與在該第二超薄光學片中界定的該互鎖結構,以建立含有該一或多種流體之該密封體。

  5. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之方法,其中:在該第一超薄光學片之一者或兩者中界定的該等互鎖結構及該第二超薄光學片中所界定的該等互鎖結構,在該周邊周圍包括一凹槽,該凹槽可用於包含一黏著劑。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之方法,其中:該第一超薄光學片中界定的該等互鎖結構以及該第二超薄光學片中界定的該等互鎖結構係為非轉動式對稱。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第6項所述之方法,其中:該第一超薄光學片中界定之非轉動式對稱互鎖結構,與該第二超薄光學片中界定之非轉動式對稱互鎖結構之對準,係使用該第一與第二區塊之對準特徵進行對準。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中:該含有該一或多種流體之密封體係當在將該第一區塊之該凹基材表面所支撐的該第一超薄光學片及該第二區塊之該凸基材表面所支撐的該第二超薄光學片浸沒於該一或多種流體中時予以建立。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第8項所述之方法,其中:該一或多種流體包括一親水性油溶液,該親水性油溶液的體積小於該腔穴總體積的10%。
  10. 如申請專利範圍第8項所述之方法,其中:該一或多種流體包括一疏水性食鹽溶液,該疏水性食鹽溶液的體積大於該腔穴總體積的90%。
  11. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,更包含封裝該液態鏡片組件(liquid lens assembly)於一水凝膠材料之步驟。
  12. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,更包含置放該液態鏡片組件於一水凝膠裙件(skirt)上之步驟。
  13. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中該油溶液之體積,小於該第一與該第二超薄光學片之間所形成的該腔穴中所含有該流體總體積的15%。
  14. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中該等超薄片厚約100微米。
  15. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中建立以含有該一或多流體之該密封體包括:在該第一超薄光學片之該周邊之至少一部分之間添加一黏著劑,且該油溶液之體積小於該第一與該第二超薄光學片之間所形成該腔穴中所含有該流體總體積的15%。
  16. 一種能夠在一眼睛之一前表面上配戴的眼科液態鏡片裝置,該眼科液態鏡片裝置包含:一液態鏡片組件,其包括,一第一超薄光學片,該第一超薄光學片係由一第一區塊之一凹基材表面所界定,一第二超薄光學片,該第二超薄光學片係由一第二區塊之一凸基材表面所界定,一或多種流體,該一或多種流體係容納於該第一超薄光學片所形成之一腔穴與該第二超薄光學片之間;一密封體,該密封體在介於該第一超薄光學片與該第二超薄光學片之間的該腔穴中含有該一或多種流體,該密封體包括互鎖 特徵,該等互鎖特徵係含括於該第一超薄光學片與該第二超薄光學片之周邊區中;以及一水凝膠部分,係組態成支撐該液態鏡片組件。
  17. 如申請專利範圍第16項所述之眼科鏡片,其中在該第一超薄光學片之一者或兩者中界定的該等互鎖結構及該第二超薄光學片中所界定的該等互鎖結構,在該周邊周圍包括一凹槽,該凹槽可用於包含一黏著劑。
  18. 如申請專利範圍第16項所述之眼科鏡片,其中該第一超薄光學片中界定之該等互鎖結構、以及該第二超薄光學片中界定之該等互鎖結構係非轉動式對稱。
  19. 如申請專利範圍第16項所述之眼科鏡片,其中該等超薄片厚約100微米。
