Abstract

Description

存取從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合式使用者介面及其實施方法
本發明係關於一種使用者介面以整合存取線性多媒體內容，例如地上、衛星或有線電視轉播所傳送之數位電視頻道、多點傳送(multi-cast)、或資料網絡或網際網路上所傳送之即時串流，並且若有要求時，也有非線性多媒體內容，例如網際網路的內容及/或在一數位電視接收裝置內之多媒體應用，其支援多媒體內容之回放(playback)。特別地，本發明之介面可讓使用者在單一表單中並以一透明的方法來操控來自多來源之線性及非線性多媒體內容，以致非線性內容係以如同電視頻道的方式來呈現。藉此，使用者存取不同網路內容之服務及供應者所提供的多媒體內容就成為可行的。
一數位電視接收裝置係為一種裝置，其能接收並解碼由不同電視轉播者所傳送之數位訊號以將其呈現於一螢幕上。此裝置可為固定式(可整合於電視組)、可攜式或移動式。現在，此種裝置已經可以使從網路連接上所下載的非線性多媒體內容有回放的功能，但此內容的使用需由應用程式來執行，而應用程式係出廠前就安裝在數位電視接收裝置內，接著由使用者安裝或甚至由數位電視訊號傳送。
在現在的數位電視接收裝置中，使用者必須先擱置傳統電視頻道(線性多媒體內容)之互動環境並存取另一互動環境才能存取從網際網路來的非線性多媒體內容。然而，上述操作會對非線性內容的存取造成 障礙，因為此方式係有利於從傳統數位電視頻導來之線性內容的使用而不利於從網際網路來之非線性內容的使用。
專利號WO1998056188係為解決上述問題而揭露一種客戶與伺服系統，其能為電視與網路被請求之內容提供一種整合的方案。特別地，上述專利係描述一種轉動選單，其能達到電視頻道與網頁之間的操控，藉此方法，內容能藉由一伺服器經由連接而下載至裝置上。然而，此系統將網頁顯示在電視頻道上，而不是只顯示多媒體內容，這樣會使網路上的資料變得與從數位電視訊號來的內容具有相同的樣子。
在此情況中，本發明係提供一種使用者介面，其能在單一選單中並以一透明方法來操控從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容，以致非線性內容係以如同從電視頻道來的內容之方式來呈現。
為達本發明之目的，在下列的敘述中，需要先考慮：“數位電視接收裝置”係可為任何能執行數位檔案之裝置，並能接收並解碼由地面、衛星或有線電視轉播者所傳送之數位電視訊號以將其呈現於一螢幕上。上述裝置可為固定式(可整合於電視組)、可攜式或移動式。
“線性多媒體內容”可包含使用者無法干預或控制其進程之內容。舉例來說，當線性多媒體內容以不間斷的方式播放時，其包含，但不限於，電視訊號與線上影音。
“非線性多媒體內容”可包含需要使用者之干預或控制以達到進程之內容，亦即需要互動性。舉例來說，非線性多媒體內容包含，但不限於，超連結、影音遊戲、線上音樂以及被請求之影音。
如此，依據本發明，其係提供一使用者介面，其能在單一選單並藉由一透明的方式來對從多來源而來之線性與非線性多媒體內容進行存取，以致非線性內容係以如同從電視頻道來的內容之方式來呈現。
上述電視頻道係接受傳統電視頻道之對待，而能讓使用者使用遠端控制之頻道改變鍵或操控箭頭而自由地瀏覽線性與非線性頻道。在 同樣的方式下，非線性內容頻道可被使用者作為書籤而到快速操控，並且傳統電視頻道也可達到同樣功能。
本發明之整合式使用者介面亦能讓多種網路內容之頻道具有一標準化介面，其可使上述頻道具有與一傳統電視頻道類似之外觀，並帶來一些功能，例如網路影音的連續回放、類別的選擇、關鍵字搜尋以及影音的播放。
本發明之整合式使用者介面包含一數位可讀媒介以及一執行手段。數位可讀媒介包含程式碼，程式碼係儲存於電視接收器內之唯讀記憶體並可為電視接收器之韌體的一部分。程式碼之執行手段係為在一數位電視接收裝置中達到對由多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合存取，數位電視接收裝置係支援多媒體內容之回放。執行手段可呈現於數位電視接收器內並包含一處理器以及一隨機存取記憶體(RAM)。
本發明之整合式使用者介面可至少提供下列功能：(a)以一手動及/或自動方式發現並調整數位電視頻道；(b)以一手動及/或自動方式發現並安裝具有從網路產生之內容之頻道。
此外，本發明之整合式使用者介面可至少提供下列功能：(c)使用遠端控制上之”頻道上”與”頻道下”的按鍵、操控箭頭或其他機制而在聚集數位電視頻道與網路頻道之單一環境及/或列表來進行操控；(d)藉由一線性方式觀賞從數位電視頻道來之內容；(e)藉由一線性(連續)方式觀賞從網路頻道來之內容；(f)藉由一非線性(請求)方式觀賞從網路頻道來之內容；非必要地，整合式使用者介面提供下列功能：(g)對數位電視頻道進行書籤；(h)對具有網路內容之頻道進行書籤；此外，本發明之整合式使用者介面可至少提供下列功能：(i)藉由具有網路內容之頻道之內容來進行搜尋；(j)在具有網路內容之頻道中經由類別的選擇來過濾內容； (l)看在具有網路內容之頻道上正在播放之影音之相關的內容；(m)當需要時移除數位電視頻道；(n)當需要時移除具有網路內容之頻道；或者此外，本發明之整合式使用者介面可提供上述所有的功能或其任意組合。
本發明亦提供上述使用者介面之實施方式，並包含下列步驟：(I)提供一數位可讀媒介，其包含程式碼，程式碼係儲存於電視接收器內之唯讀記憶體並可為電視接收器之韌體的一部分，以及(II)提供程式碼之執行手段，以在一數位電視接收裝置中達到對由多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合存取，數位電視接收裝置係支援多媒體內容之回放。執行手段可呈現於數位電視接收器內並包含一處理器以及一隨機存取記憶體(RAM)。

實施例之態樣
下面敘述請參照圖1至圖3並且非用以限制本發明。下面態樣係代表本發明之使用者介面在一數位電視接收裝置內之一些可能的展現形式。
介面係從多來源整合線性與非線性多媒體內容並由製造者裝運至數位電視接收器10之記憶體內，並被使用者藉由使用用來執行頻道 切換之遠端控制上之按鍵而叫出。當被叫出時，此介面係以表單11的形式從一背景12出現，背景12可以是，但並非限於，正在由一頻道播放之影音、一靜態或動畫影像檔、或內嵌於接收器之一影音檔。
表單11形式之介面之主要功能係為使不同形式之頻道的存取有效率，該等頻道可為從數位空中訊號調整(tuned)到之電視頻道或從一網路連接所安裝之網路頻道。
這些頻道之圖樣可由表單11看出，並且排列於電視螢幕10之一快速存取區。其中，有對應到電視頻道(1、2、3、4、5、6)之圖樣並且有對應到網路頻道(7、8、9)之圖樣。對於一種形式之頻道，圖樣的數量沒有限制，並且表單11可以轉動的方式來呈現，亦即當表單到達尾端時，下一個選項會轉到第一個。
當表單11打開時，使用者可藉由使用遠端控制鍵(常用來切換頻道)來改變頻道，或者使用遠端控制上的箭頭來將選單的操控焦點移動到所要的圖樣(1~9)並按下遠端控制上的確認鍵”OK”。這兩種操控方式的差別在於，當使用頻道切換鍵時，頻道改變是自動的，而當使用方向箭頭時，頻道切換係發生在某一頻道的圖樣在一給定的時間中被選定之後、或者是發生在當你按下遠端控制上之OK確認鍵。
此表單的最後一個圖樣總是”+頻道”13，其係呼叫一設定畫面以讓使用者能轉到新的電視頻道或安裝新的網路頻道。假如沒有選擇的電視頻道或安裝的網路頻道，則只有圖樣”+頻道”13會顯示在表單11上。
當一電視頻道的圖樣(1~6)被選定時，係調到該頻道。當遠端控制上之資訊”INFO”鍵被按下時，關於該內容之資訊係被顯示，例如頻道名稱、節目名稱、年齡分級、概要、或其他資訊。
當網路頻道(7~9)被選擇時，係顯示一介面，其係提供一個盡可能接近當使用者觀看一電視頻道而有之經驗。影音將會開始以全螢幕14的方式來播放，並且當它一結束時，另一影音立即接著載入，然後以此類推。當遠端控制上的資訊”INFO”鍵被按下時，係顯示相關的資訊，例如公佈在一影音區15之影音之頻道的名稱以及在一影音區16之內容， 但使用者仍可以經由存取功能而存取在一影音區17之相關影音之內容、並選擇在一影音區18之類別、以及在一影音區19利用關鍵字進行搜尋。所有的功能皆可經由按壓遠端控制上之彩色鍵而進行。
據此，本發明之使用者介面可在一數位電視接收裝置中提供整合線性與非線性頻道之單一表單，可讓使用者經由遠端控制及一簡單的頻道切換而在電視頻道之內容與網路頻道之內容之間進行快速操控。藉此，線性頻道之調整為可進行的，並且新的非線性頻道之安裝可經由同樣的選單而快速達到。
如此，習知技藝者將會珍賞本發明之使用者介面，其提供網路之多媒體內容以及數位電視訊號之內容之一整合存取，亦即從網路內容服務採用全螢幕無縫影音回放。如此可簡化並有效率化使用者對上述內容的使用，其中，多媒體內容之觀點係應用到線性內容上，該線性內容係在其他裝置中僅能以一非線性方法來使用。此外，本發明之使用者介面亦提供以一非線性方法來使用網路上之內容，如果必需的話(但非必要)。

Claims (12)

  1. 一種整合式使用者介面，其係存取從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容，包含一數位可讀媒介以及一執行手段，其中，數位可讀媒介包含程式碼，程式碼係儲存於一電視接收器內之唯讀記憶體並可為該電視接收器之韌體的一部分，程式碼之該執行手段係為在一數位電視接收裝置中達到對由多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合存取，該數位電視接收裝置係支援多媒體內容之回放，該執行手段係呈現於數位電視接收器內並包含一處理器以及一隨機存取記憶體(RAM)。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之存取從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合式使用者介面，其係至少提供下列功能：(a)以一手動及/或自動方式發現並調整數位電視頻道；(b)以一手動及/或自動方式發現並安裝具有從網路產生之內容之頻道；上述功能係以一整合或一致的方法執行。

  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之存取從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合式使用者介面，其係至少提供下列功能：(i)藉由具有網路內容之頻道之內容來進行搜尋；(j)在具有網路內容之頻道中經由類別的選擇來過濾內容；(l)看在具有網路內容之頻道上正在播放之影音之相關的內容；(m)當需要時移除數位電視頻道；(n)當需要時移除具有網路內容之頻道。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之存取從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合式使用者介面，其係提供如如申請專利範圍第2項至第4項所述之功能。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之存取從多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合式使用者介面，其係內嵌於該數位電視接收器記憶體(10)內，並被使用者藉由用來執行頻道切換之遠端控制按鍵而叫出，以呈現一表單(11)於一影音背景(12)上，該表單(11)係顯示對應電視頻道(1、2、3、4、5、6)之圖樣、接著顯示對應網路頻道(7、8、9)之圖樣以及一”+頻道”圖樣(13)。

  12. 如申請專利範圍第1項至第11項之任一項所述之存取從多來源產生之 線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合式使用者介面，其係包含下列步驟：(I)提供一數位可讀媒介，其包含程式碼，程式碼係儲存於電視接收器內之唯讀記憶體並可為電視接收器之韌體的一部分，以及(II)提供程式碼之執行手段，以在一數位電視接收裝置中達到對由多來源產生之線性與非線性多媒體內容之整合存取，數位電視接收裝置係支援多媒體內容之回放，該執行手段係呈現於數位電視接收器內並包含一處理器以及一隨機存取記憶體(RAM)；該執行手段係經由如申請專利範圍第1項至第11項之任一項所述之可視介面而存取。
