Abstract

Description
本案有關於黏著劑組成物及使用該組成物結合基板之方法及藉由該方法製成之黏合結構,更具體而言,本案有關含有脂肪醯胺和脂肪酸之粒子之水性黏著劑組成物及其應用。
以下是本發明的背景。在其中一個或多個基板含有助滑劑的情形下,經常希望使用黏著劑組成物將兩個或更多個基板黏合在一起。例如,可藉由使黏著劑組成物與兩個基板接觸以在基板間形成黏合而將由聚合物製成之兩個基板黏合在一起形成黏合物件。有時,基板之一或兩者係由含有助滑劑之聚合物所製成。有時添加該種助滑劑至聚合物,使得由聚合物所製成之基板的表面具有相對較低之摩擦係數。該種系統產生一個問題,即助滑劑可從基板遷移至黏著劑中,因此耗盡基板中助滑劑的量,因而增加基板的摩擦係數。

本文所用之下述用語具有指定之定義,除非文中另有清楚之說明。
本文所用之“聚合物”係由較小之化學重複單元的反應產物所組成之相對較大之分子。聚合物分子量可藉由標準方法如,例如,粒徑篩除層析術(SEC,亦稱為凝膠滲透層析術或GPC)測量之。聚合物具有1,000或更大之重量平均分子量(Mw)。某些聚合物呈現一個或多個玻璃轉移溫度(Tg)。Tg係使用示差掃描熱量分析儀以中點法測定之。
本文所用之“聚合物的重量”係指聚合物的乾重量。
可彼此反應以形成聚合物之重複單元的分
子在本文稱為“單體”。乙烯基單體係具有非為芳香環之一部分且能夠與其他碳-碳雙鍵參與聚合反應之至少一個碳-碳雙鍵的單體。乙烯基單體具有小於500之分子量。乙烯基單體包含,例如,苯乙烯,經取代之苯乙烯,二烯,乙烯,乙烯衍生物,及其混合物。乙烯衍生物包含,例如,下述之經未取代及經取代樣式:乙酸乙烯酯,丙烯腈,(甲基)丙烯酸,(甲基)丙烯酸之烷酯,(甲基)丙烯酸之醯胺,氯乙烯,鹵化烯類,及其混合物。本文所用之“(甲基)丙烯酸”係指丙烯酸或甲基丙烯酸;“(甲基)丙烯酸酯”係指丙烯酸酯或甲基丙烯酸酯;以及“(甲基)丙烯醯胺”係指丙烯醯胺或甲基丙烯醯胺。“取代”係指具有至少一個附著之化學基團如,例如,烷基,烯基,乙烯基,羥基,羧酸基,其他官能基,及其組合。
本文所用之酸官能性單體係含有羧基或磺酸基之單體。羧基及磺酸基可為質子化形式或離子形式。
芳香族乙烯基單體係其分子含有一個或多個芳香環之乙烯基單體。非為芳香族乙烯基單體之乙烯基單體在本文稱為“非芳香族乙烯基單體”。烯烴單體係其分子僅含氫及氧之乙烯基單體。
藉由單獨或與其他單體一起聚合某種單體所製成之聚合物在本文稱為含有那種單體作為聚合單元。
若當含有該單體之聚合單元之聚合物存在於水中時,於單體之聚合單元為離子化之pH 2.5至pH 9之間沒有pH條件,則本文所用之單體為非離子性。若以
那些聚合單元之總莫耳數計之,50莫耳%或更多那些聚合單元為離子狀態,則在本文將那些聚合單元視為離子化。
本文所用之“乙烯基聚合物”係其中以聚合物之重量計之,90重量%或更多為一種或多種乙烯基單體之聚合單元的聚合物。
本文所用之“水性”組成物係以組成物之重量計之,含有30重量%或更多水之組成物。在水性組成物中,水形成連續介質,且所有其他成分皆溶解或分散(或者其組合)在水中。
本文所用之水性組成物之“固體量”係當水性組成物層施用至基板然後乾燥或使之乾燥時所留下之材料的量。固體量可藉由在頂部打開之容器中形成深度為1mm至2mm之水性組成物層;再將該容器放置在100℃空氣循環烘箱中歷時30分鐘測量之。固體量為100*(LB)/(IC)(以百分比表示之),其中LB為烘箱暴露後留在容器中之來自水性組成物之材料的重量,IC為水性組成物之初始重量。烘箱暴露後留在容器中之來自水性組成物之材料在本文稱為組成物之“固體部分”。

本文所用之“多醇”係其分子含有兩個或更多個羥基之化合物。本文所用之“多異氰酸酯”係其分子含有兩個或更多個異氰酸基之化合物。
本文所用之分散液係含有分布在整個連續水介質之離散粒子之組成物。分布之粒子稱為被分散。各離散粒子可為固體,液體,或其組合。連續水介質係在包含10℃至40℃之溫度範圍為液體。連續水介質係若以連續水介質之重量計之,連續水介質之組成含有60重量%或更多用量之水的水介質。
若粒子之間之組成沒有實質地改變,則在將粒子之集合的組成在本文中被視為均勻的。
本文所用之脂肪酸具有化學式R1-COOH,式中R1為含有8個或更多個碳原子之經取代或未經取代之烴基。本文所用之脂肪酸一詞係指包含羧基形式R1-COOH及羧酸根形式。羧酸根形式可為溶液或鹽形式。
本文所用之脂肪醯胺具有化學式R2-C(O)NHR3,式中R2為含有8個或更多個碳原子之經取代或未經取代之烴基,及式中R3係選自下述者:
(I)R3為氫(“I型”脂肪醯胺)

本發明之更佳聚合物含有一種或多種丙烯酸之未經取代之烷基酯之聚合單元,且亦含有一種或多種
非離子性芳香族乙烯基單體、一種或多種甲基丙烯酸之未經取代之烷基酯,或其混合物之聚合單元。本發明之又更佳聚合物含有一種或多種丙烯酸之未經取代之烷基酯之聚合單元,且亦含有一種或多種非離子性芳香族乙烯基單體之聚合單元。
以聚合物之重量計之,非離子性芳香族單體之聚合單元的較佳用量為5重量%或更多,更佳為10重量%或更多,又更佳為20重量%或更多。以聚合物之重量計之,非離子性芳香族單體之聚合單元的較佳用量為60重量%或更少,更佳為50重量%或更少,又更佳為40重量%或更少。
本發明之較佳聚合物含有一種或多種酸官能性單體之聚合單元。較佳之酸官能性單體為具有附著於芳香環之一個或多個磺酸基之芳香族乙烯基單體,及(甲基)丙烯酸;更佳為苯乙烯磺酸,及(甲基)丙烯酸;最佳為(甲基)丙烯酸。以聚合物之重量計之,酸官能性單體之聚合單元的較佳用量為0.1重量%或更多,更佳為0.3重量%或更多,又更佳為1重量%或更多。以聚合物之重量計之,酸官能性單體之聚合單元的較佳用量為10重量%或更少,更佳為5重量%或更少。
除了一種或多種(甲基)丙烯酸酯;一種或多種非離子性芳香族乙烯基單體;及一種或多種酸官能性單體外,本發明之聚合物尚視需要地含有一種或多種其他單體之聚合單元。若存在一種或多種此其他單體,則此其他
單體較佳選自非離子性乙烯基單體。較佳之其他單體為(甲基)丙烯酸之醯胺,(甲基)丙烯酸之羥基烷基酯,及其混合物。較佳之(甲基)丙烯酸之醯胺為丙烯醯胺及甲基丙烯醯胺;更佳為丙烯醯胺。較佳之(甲基)丙烯酸之羥基烷基酯為丙烯酸羥基乙酯,甲基丙烯酸羥基乙酯,丙烯酸羥基丙酯,及甲基丙烯酸羥基丙酯。
本發明組成物的特徵可在於聚合物固體含量,其係含於組成物中之聚合物的乾重量除以聚合物的總重量,且係以百分比表示之。聚合物固體含量較佳為5%或更多;更佳為20%或更多;更佳為30%或更多;更佳為40%或更多。聚合物固體含量較佳為70%或更少;更佳為60%或更少。
本發明聚合物之Tg較佳為-50℃或更高;更佳為-30℃或更高。本發明聚合物之Tg較佳為20℃或更低。本發明聚合物之重量平均分子量較佳為5,000至2,000,000;更佳為100,000至2,000,000。

就體積基準而言,分散粒子(ii)的中位直徑較佳為50微米或更小;更佳為20微米或更小;更佳為10微米或更小;更佳為5微米或更小。就體積基準而言,分散粒子(ii)的中位直徑較佳為0.01微米或更大;更佳為0.02微米或更大;更佳為0.05微米或更大;更佳為0.1微米或更大。
分散粒子(ii)的組成較佳為均勻者。

本發明組成物較佳製備如下。在一操作中,藉由乳液聚合反應製備乙烯基聚合物以製造粒子(i)。在另一操作中,製備粒子(ii)之分散液。較佳使粒子(i)之分散液與粒子(ii)之分散液,及視需要地之其他成分混合以形成本發明組成物。

對混合物(I)施加剪切的結果較佳為使混合物(I)變成HIP乳液。在HIP乳液形成後,較佳使組成物冷卻至室溫。視需要地,在HIP乳液形成後,藉由添加水或其他水介質將HIP稀釋。預期冷卻至室溫及添加額外的水不會改變分散粒子的粒子大小。
本發明組成物可視需要地含有一種或多種水可分散性多醇。若使用一種或多種多醇,較佳為下述多醇。較佳之多醇為聚醚多醇,聚酯多醇,聚酯聚醚多醇,或其混合物。較佳之多醇係選自二醇,三醇,或其混合物。較佳之多醇係充分非揮發性者,若組成物中亦存在異氰酸酯,則其在混合操作期間將可完全地或至少部分地可用於與異氰酸酯之反應。較佳之多醇將具有100至7500,更佳為150至5000,又更佳為200至1000之數目平均分子量。多醇之分子量較佳小於1500,又更佳小於600。高度較佳之多醇的實例為聚丙二醇(PPG),如400MW聚丙二醇。
若組成物中存在一種或多種多醇,則多醇之較佳用量如下。多醇之較佳用量為本發明組成物之固體部分的0.1至10%。多醇之用量較佳為不超過5%,更佳為不超過3%,又更佳為不超過2%,最佳為不超過1.5%。多醇之用量較佳為至少0.3%,更佳為至少0.4%,最佳為至少0.6%。
本發明組成物可視需要地與固化組成物混合。固化組成物含有一種或多種固化劑。固化劑係一種其分子具有能夠與組成物中之一種或多種部分(moity)反應以
產生聚合物之兩種或更多種反應性基團的化合物,以增加既存聚合物的分子量,及/或產生交鏈網絡。此部分可為本發明聚合物,或者另一部分如多醇,或其組合。若存在固化劑,則固化劑的較佳特性如下。較佳之固化劑為一種或多種水可分散性多異氰酸酯。使用之多異氰酸酯可為任何適合之多異氰酸酯,但較佳為脂肪族多異氰酸酯,芳香族多異氰酸酯或其混合物。多異氰酸酯較佳為二異氰酸酯。適合之多異氰酸酯的實例包含那些基於甲苯二異氰酸酯(TDI),異佛爾酮二異氰酸酯(IPDI),二異氰酸六亞甲酯(HDI),二苯基甲烷二異氰酸酯(MDI),二環己基甲烷二異氰酸酯(HMDI),其異構物或其混合物。亦可使用多異氰酸酯與多醇之預聚物。特佳為脂肪族多異氰酸酯。
若使用一種或多種多異氰酸酯,多異氰酸酯的用量較佳決定如下。異氰酸酯基與異氰酸酯反應性基團的相對比例可在1:1至8:1之NCO/NCO反應性基團之莫耳比率內如所希望般變化。NCO反應性基團包含,例如,羥基,胺基及羧基。NCO/NCO反應性基團莫耳比率較佳為至少3:1。NCO/NCO反應性基團莫耳比率較佳為不超過5:1。較佳之異氰酸酯反應性基團為羥基,一級胺基二級胺基羧基環氧基及碳二醯亞胺基。
所得之整體混合物的pH較佳為5至9,更佳為6至8。若羧基或磺酸基附著於聚合物,則最佳係其中附著於本發明聚合物之磺酸基或羧基(無論哪個存在)的75莫耳%或更多被中和之pH值範圍。
預想其中本發明組成物不包含任何多醇之具體實施例。亦預想其中本發明組成物不包含任何多異氰酸酯之實例。亦預想其中本發明組成物既不含有多醇亦不含有多異氰酸酯之具體實施例。較佳為包含一種或多種多異氰酸酯之具體實施例。
預期當實施其中使用一種或多種多異氰酸酯之具體實施例時,多異氰酸酯會在使本發明組成物使用作為黏著劑組成物前以相對較短的時間添加至組成物。形成含有多異氰酸酯及能與多異氰酸酯反應之聚合物部分兩者之單一組成物和使組成物與基板表面接觸之步驟之間的時間較佳為48小時或更短;更佳為24小時或更短;更佳為12小時或更短;更佳為8小時或更短。

本發明組成物可使用習知施用技術如凹版輪轉式印刷,軟版輪轉式印刷,傳統或無空氣噴佈,輥塗,刷塗,繞線棒塗,刀塗,或塗佈方法如簾幕-,溢流-,鐘-,圓盤-,及浸漬-塗佈法塗敷至所要之基板。使用此黏著劑組成物之塗佈可在整個表面或僅其一部分,如沿著邊緣,或週期性位置進行之。一旦塗敷至基板,則使組成物乾燥,如藉由施加熱或空氣流動,或者用於實質地移除所有殘餘之水的一些其他適合的方法。
可發現本發明之黏著劑組成物的其他適合的應用如頂塗層,或其他中間塗層,因此使其潛在地可使用於漆料,油墨,塑膠等。本發明之黏著劑組成物可使用在各式各樣之一種或複數種適合之基板上。

衝擊改質劑,加工助劑,潤滑劑,助滑劑,安定劑,其他添加劑,及其混合物摻合之聚合物。更佳為聚烯烴,聚酯,及聚醯胺;更佳為聚烯烴;更佳為烯烴單體之均聚物。烯烴單體之均聚物中,較佳為聚乙烯;更佳為低密度聚乙烯,包含低密度聚乙烯(LDPE),直鏈低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE),高強度聚乙烯(HSPE),及茂金屬催化之直鏈低密度聚乙烯(mLLDPE)。一種或多種基板較佳為含有助滑劑之聚合物。
基板可具有任何形狀或形式。較佳之基板為膜材。膜材係具有250微米(10密耳)或更小之一尺寸之物體。垂直於最小尺寸之膜材的表面在本文稱為膜材的“面”。本發明組成物之較佳用途為層合(亦即,形成層合物)。當一膜材之面黏合於另一膜材之面時形成層合物。此兩個膜材可具有彼此相同之組成或者其可具有不同之組成。
雖然濕式層合方法亦可能,但此黏著劑組成物特別可使用於複數個基板之乾黏合層合,其中各基板為膜材。在較佳實施例中,將黏著劑組成物層施加於第一基板膜材的面,移除水(例如,利用加熱之空氣或其他者),再以第二基板膜材的面覆蓋所得之乾黏著劑組成物層以形成其中藉由黏著劑組成物之乾層使兩個基板膜材黏合在一起之層合物件。在較佳實施例中,基板層係以基板材料捲之形式提供之。較佳之板片厚度為12微米至250微米(0.5至10密耳);更佳之板片為12微米至250微米(0.5至5密耳)。較大之厚度亦可能,而且較小之厚度般(例如,1或更
大微米)亦可能。
較佳係至少一個基板含有一種或多種助滑劑。助滑劑係一種當其添加至基板時減少該基板之摩擦係數之組成物。較佳為減少聚合物膜之摩擦係數之助滑劑。較佳之助滑劑為矽氧烷,包含有機改質之矽氧烷,及脂肪化合物。較佳為脂肪化合物。更佳為脂肪醯胺。較佳之脂肪醯胺為與較佳包含於本發明組成物中之本文上述脂肪醯胺屬於相同種類。
以下為本發明之實施例。
藉由習知乳液聚合反應製備聚合物。以添加之鹼將乳膠調整至pH 7.5。
藉由如上述般製造HIP分散液而製備芥酸醯胺/芥酸之分散液。將此分散液於室溫(大約25℃)貯存6個月,並且隨著時間觀察為安定分散液。

摩擦係數(COF)係使用試驗方法ASTM D1894(美國材料和試驗協會(American Society of Testing and Materials),Conshohocken,PA,USA)測量之。
首先製備初步混合物。混合等重量份之聚合物乳膠與芥酸醯胺/芥酸分散液以形成無明顯相分離之液體。
在良好攪拌下將各種用量之初步混合物添加至100g乳膠中。添加2克水可分散之二異氰酸六亞甲酯。在各例中選擇初步混合物的用量以得到下表所示之芥酸醯胺的濃度。以每平方米2.44克之塗佈重量(每令1.5磅)將所得之混合物塗佈至聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯膜上,然後乾燥之。使高強度聚乙烯(HSPE)膜層合至乾黏著劑層上。HSPE被認為含有為芥酸醯胺或油酸醯胺之助滑劑。
在層合物外部上之HSPE表面上測量COF。使層合物在室溫貯存1週,再測量COF(“初始”COF)。然
後將層合物放置在50℃烘箱中歷時24小時,然後在室溫貯存24小時,再度測量COF(“1天”COF)。之後一天再度測量COF(“2天”COF)。結果如下:
如所希望般,具有芥酸醯胺之試樣皆較比較試樣具有更低之COF。
Claims (6)
- 一種黏著劑組成物,包括連續水介質且進一步包括:(i)分散在該水介質中之聚合物粒子;以及(ii)包括脂肪醯胺和一種或多種脂肪酸之粒子,其中50莫耳%或更多該脂肪酸係羧酸根形式,且其中該脂肪醯胺對該脂肪酸的重量比為0.12:1至2.3:1,其中包括脂肪醯胺和一種或多種脂肪酸之該粒子係分散在該水介質中。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之黏著劑組成物,其中,該脂肪醯胺包括芥酸醯胺。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之黏著劑組成物,其中,該聚合物為乙烯基聚合物。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之黏著劑組成物,其中,以該乙烯基聚合物之重量計之,該組成物中之脂肪醯胺的用量為0.1重量%至5重量%。
- 一種將第一基板黏合至第二基板之方法,其中該方法包括(a)將申請專利範圍第1項所述之組成物層施用至該第一基板的表面,(b)使申請專利範圍第1項所述之該組成物層乾燥以移除水,以及(c)使該第二基板之表面與該層接觸,其中該第一基板與該第二基板之一或兩者包括一種或多種助滑劑。
- 一種黏合結構,係藉由申請專利範圍第5項所述之方法形成者。
