Abstract

一種動態軟體授權平台及方法。動態軟體授權平台包括授權池、註冊管理器、使用設定單元及授權管理器。註冊管理器接收用戶端所提出之軟體申請。使用設定單元回應軟體申請開放設定權限給用戶端，並根據設定權限允許用戶端提交授權設定。授權管理器新增軟體商所提供之軟體授權至授權池，並根據授權設定自授權池動態地提供軟體授權。

Description

動態軟體授權平台及方法
本揭露是有關於一種軟體授權，且特別是有關於一種動態軟體授權平台及方法。
電子設備可藉由安裝軟體來發揮其對應之功能。舉例來說，個人電腦可安裝作業系統、防毒軟體、影像軟體、掃描軟體、繪圖軟體、相片軟體、編輯軟體、文書軟體或工具軟體等等。傳統的軟體銷售模式係由使用者購買軟體後自行安裝至個人電腦後，再上網進行認證以取得軟體授權。然而，傳統軟體的銷售模式已逐漸無法滿足現在用戶端的需求，因此，如何提供一種動態軟體授權的機制即成為一個相當重要的課題。
本揭露係有關於一種動態軟體授權平台及方法，其係動態地提供軟體授權，以符合用戶端的需求。
根據本揭露，提出一種動態軟體授權平台。動態軟體授權平台包括授權池(License Pool)、註冊管理器、使用設定單元及授權管理器。註冊管理器接收用戶端所提出之軟體申請。使用設定單元回應軟體申請開放設定權限給用戶端，並根據設定權限允許用戶端提交授權設定。授權管理器新增軟體商所提供之軟體授權至授權池，並根據授權設定自授權池動態地提供軟體授權。
根據本揭露，提出一種動態軟體授權方法。動態軟體授權方法用於動態軟體授權平台，且動態軟體授權平台包括授權池(License Pool)。動態軟體授權方法包括：新增軟體商所提供之軟體授權至授權池；接收用戶端所提出之軟體申請；回應軟體申請開放設定權限給用戶端，並根據設定權限允許用戶端提交授權設定；以及根據授權設定自授權池動態地提供該軟體授權。
為了對本揭露之上述及其他方面有更佳的瞭解，下文特舉實施例，並配合所附圖式，作詳細說明如下：
請參照第1圖，第1圖繪示係為用戶端經動態軟體授權平台取得軟體授權之示意圖。軟體商1提供軟體及軟體授權至動態軟體授權平台2。動態軟體授權平台2能根據用戶端3的實際使用需求，動態地提供用戶端3所需要的軟體授權。
請同時參照第1圖、第2圖及第3圖，第2圖繪示係為動態軟體授權平台之示意圖，第3圖繪示係為動態軟體授權方法之流程圖。動態軟體授權平台2包括授權池21、註冊管理器22、使用設定單元23、授權管理器24、管理資料庫25、報告管理器26、虛擬機器池(Virtual Machine Pool)27、虛擬機器管理器28及使用管理單元29。虛擬機器池27包括虛擬機器(Virtual Machine,VM)271，虛擬機器管理器28管理虛擬機器271以提供一虛擬機器服務。虛擬機器271可由位於動態軟體授權平台2的伺服器執行 相關應用程式來實現。使用管理單元29根據授權設定決定是否提供虛擬機器服務給用戶端3。
動態軟體授權方法適用於動態軟體授權平台2，且包括如下步驟：首先如步驟41所示，授權管理器24新增軟體商1所提供之軟體授權至授權池21。此外，虛擬機器管理器28還能進一步地安裝軟體授權所對應之軟體至虛擬機器271並更新虛擬機器271之軟體安裝資訊，而註冊管理器26還能進一步地將軟體授權所對應之軟體新增至軟體市集。當軟體商的軟體版本更新時，動態軟體授權平台2上的軟體版本也能同步地提供更新後的軟體版本。因此，用戶端的使用者不需要因軟體版本的更新，而另行購買各種其他版本的軟體。
接著如步驟42所示，接收用戶端3所提出之軟體申請。用戶端3能向動態軟體授權平台2申請帳號並於登入後至軟體市集採購軟體以提出軟體申請。軟體申請的選購項目例如包括軟體名稱、軟體版本、計價方式、指定生效日及虛擬機器服務。所謂虛擬機器服務係指使用者不需要在用戶端3的電腦主機上安裝軟體，用戶端3透過網路連線登入虛擬機器271後，即能線上使用軟體。
跟著如步驟43所示，使用設定單元23回應軟體申請開放一設定權限給用戶端3，並根據設定權限允許用戶端3提交一授權設定。授權設定例如包括使用軟體之設備清單、軟體授權分配、優先權順序及指定生效日。執行軟體之設備並不侷限於位於用戶端3的電腦主機，亦可為位於動態軟體授權平台2的虛擬機器271。
然後如步驟44所示，授權管理器24根據授權設定自授權池21動態地提供軟體授權。授權管理器24可根據授權設定自授權池21提供軟體授權至位於用戶端3的電腦主機或位於動態軟體授權平台2的虛擬機器271。若用戶端有申請虛擬機器服務，則用戶端的使用者不需要於用戶端的電腦主機安裝軟體，即能立時線上使用軟體，大幅提高使用上的便利性。
接著如步驟45所示，報告管理器26根據軟體授權之使用記錄產生一使用報告給用戶端3，並儲存軟體授權之使用記錄至管理資料庫25。使用報告例如包括一消費帳單或一統計報表。消費帳單的計費方式可以是按年/季/月/週/日或實際使用量來計算。如此一來，當軟體的需求尚未明確前，用戶端3能透過動態軟體授權平台2滿足暫時性的需求，不需要馬上付費購買軟體授權。用戶端3透過報告管理器26所產生的統計報表瞭解軟體的使用情況，進而做為是否進行軟體升級的評估依據。除此之外，針對使用次數較少，但卻必須使用的軟體，用戶端3能透過動態軟體授權平台2降低購置軟體的成本。跟著如步驟46所示，動態軟體授權平台2於用戶端3之授權期限屆滿後回收軟體授權。
進一步來說，動態軟體授權平台2自軟體商1取得一定數量的軟體授權後，授權管理器24便會在授權池21中增加其所對應之軟體名稱及軟體授權數目M。當用戶端3需要的軟體授權數目為N時，授權管理器24會檢查N是否小於M，以確保授權池21能提供足夠的軟體授權給用 戶端3。其中，M及N係大於0之正整數。授權管理器24確認N小於M後，除提供N個軟體授權至用戶端3外，並將授權池21之軟體授權數目由M改為M-N。
雖然用戶端3所購買的軟體授權數目為P，但實際上用戶端3卻可能有大於P個使用者向動態軟體授權平台2要求提供軟體授權。為了解決此一狀況，授權管理器24還能進一步根據用戶端3所提交之授權設定來設定用戶端3中各使用者的優先權級別。舉例來說，用戶端3有使用者A~E，卻僅購買3個軟體授權。授權管理器24設定使用者A為最高優先權級別，並設定使用者B~E為一般優先權級別。如此一來，使用者A永遠都能使用軟體授權，而使用者B~E則必須分享剩下的兩個軟體授權。授權管理器24可以根據使用者B~E要求的順序來提供剩下的兩個軟體授權。換言之，最早要求的兩位使用者則能取得剩下的兩個軟體授權。
當用戶端3取得軟體時，註冊管理器22會對應地設定一軟體使用期限，並於軟體使用期限屆滿前，詢問用戶端3是否需延長使用期限。
請同時參照第1圖、第2圖、第3圖及第4圖，第4圖繪示係為前述步驟45之一種細部流程圖。前述步驟45進一步包括步驟451至454。首先如步驟451所示，報告管理器26產生軟體授權之使用記錄。接著如步驟452所示，報告管理器26解析軟體授權之使用記錄並儲存至管理資料庫25。跟著如步驟453所示，報告管理器26定期統計使用記錄並根據計價方式產生消費帳單。然後如步驟 454所示，註冊管理器22將消費帳單通知用戶端3。
請同時參照第1圖、第2圖、第3圖及第5圖，第5圖繪示係為前述步驟46之一種細部流程圖。前述步驟46進一步包括461至463。首先如步驟461所示，註冊管理器22檢查軟體授權是否過期，並於軟體授權過期時，授權管理器24自授權池21移除軟體授權。接著如步驟462所示，註冊管理器22收回用戶端3之設定權限。跟著如步驟463所示，虛擬機器管理器24檢查虛擬機器使用權限是否過期，並於虛擬機器使用權限過期時，收回虛擬機器使用權限。
綜上所述，雖然本揭露已以實施例揭露如上，然其並非用以限定本揭露。本揭露所屬技術領域中具有通常知識者，在不脫離本揭露之精神和範圍內，當可作各種之更動與潤飾。因此，本揭露之保護範圍當視後附之申請專利範圍所界定者為準。

Claims (11)

  1. 一種動態軟體授權平台，包括：一授權池(License Pool)；一註冊管理器，用以接收一用戶端所提出之一軟體申請；一使用設定單元，用以回應該軟體申請開放一設定權限給該用戶端，並根據該設定權限允許該用戶端提交一授權設定；以及一授權管理器，用以新增軟體商所提供之一軟體授權至該授權池，並根據該授權設定自該授權池動態地提供該軟體授權。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，更包括：一虛擬機器共享(Virtual Machine Pool)單元，包括複數個虛擬機器(Virtual Machine,VM)；一虛擬機器管理器，用以管理該些虛擬機器以提供一虛擬機器服務；以及一使用管理單元，用以根據該授權設定決定是否提供該虛擬機器服務給該用戶端。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中於該虛擬機器管理器安裝該軟體授權對應之軟體至該些虛擬機器並更新該些虛擬機器之軟體安裝資訊。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中該虛擬機器服務係該虛擬機器管理器設定一虛擬機器使用權限給該用戶端，該虛擬機器管理器檢查該虛擬 機器使用權限是否過期，並於該虛擬機器使用權限過期時，收回該虛擬機器使用權限。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中該註冊管理器設定一軟體使用期限，並於該軟體使用期限屆滿前，詢問該用戶端是否延長該軟體使用期限。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，更包括：一管理資料庫；以及一報告管理器，用以根據該軟體授權之使用記錄產生一使用報告，並儲存該軟體授權之使用記錄至該管理資料庫。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中該註冊管理器檢查該軟體授權是否過期，並於該軟體授權過期時，該授權管理器自該授權池移除該軟體授權。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第7項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中於該軟體授權過期時，該註冊管理器收回該用戶端之該設定權限。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中該授權設定包括使用該軟體之設備清單、軟體授權分配及指定生效日。
  10. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中該授權管理器檢查該用戶端所需之軟體授權數目是否小於該授權池之軟體授權數目，當該用戶端所需之軟 體授權數目小於該授權池之軟體授權數目，該授權池之軟體授權數目需減掉該用戶端所需之軟體授權數目。
  11. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之動態軟體授權平台，其中該授權管理器根據該授權設定設定該用戶端中各使用者之優先權級別。
