Abstract

A device and method for classifying and collecting nano-particles from an air flow comprising various size of particles. The air flow passes through at least one first stage cyclone of the multi-stage cyclone device; collecting a first particle group via the first stage cyclone; the air to pass through at least one second stage cyclone of the multi-stage cyclone device; collecting a second particle group via the second stage cyclone, wherein the range of air pressure of the multi-stage cyclone device is from 20 to 760 torr. The first stage cyclone has a cutoff aerodynamic diameter dpa50,1,j, and the second stage cyclone has a cutoff aerodynamic diameter dpa50,2,j. The first stage cyclone and the second stage cyclone are series connection.
