Abstract

A liquid crystal display apparatus in this present invention is provided. A light incident side surface of a liquid crystal display device (8) is adhered to an inlet surface (42) of a prism sheet (4) using a adhesive (86), and an outlet surface (41) of the prism sheet (4) serves as a prism formed face 41. A plurality of parallel prism rows is arranged in parallel and extends along the parallel direction to form the prism formed face (41). The prism formed face (41) has a rough surface part extends along the prism rows between two adjacent prism rows. The roughness of the rough surface part is larger than that of the prism face on the prism rows. A light incident plane (31) guides the light coming from the primary light source (1) into a light guiding plate (3). The light guided into the light guiding plate (3) is emitted from a light emitting face (33) and is then incident to the outlet surface (41) of the prism sheet (4).
