Abstract
The object of the present invention is to provide a method of retrieving rare earth elements from a composition containing rare earth fluorides, including: (1) mixing the composition containing rare earth fluorides, silicon oxide, and hydrochloric acid; (2) dissolving the rare earth fluorides by heating the mixture; (3) obtaining a rare earth-dissolving solution by removing the insoluble content from the solution obtained at the step of (2); and (4) retrieving the rare earth elements from the rare earth-dissolving solution obtained at the step of (3).
