Abstract
A charger without added special circuit or components can be used to prevent the generation of an electric spark while a commercial power being connected with the charge. To determine whether batteries 36, 37 connected with connectors 34, 35 of the battery is chargeable or not depends on the response from the connection status of the commercial power to an inlet 17 of a charger 30 When the battery is chargeable, the current output from the connectors 34, 35 for the battery is on standby for a predetermined time (For instance, for about five seconds). After standing by, the current is output from the connectors 34, 35 for the battery, and a charge control of the batteries 36, 37 is performed.
