Abstract

A composition of tri-valence chromium water solution and the coating method by electro deposition of chrome-nickel alloy. Due to the efficiency of the electro deposition is too low as reported by technical literatures, the electro deposition technique in tri-valence chromium alloy plating is still need for further investigations. This invention provides a chemical formulation of electrolyte for electroplating which is suitable to be used in tri-valence chrome-nickel alloy plating with high electric current efficiency. Under different electro plating process condition products of various degree of luster coating layer caused by different chrome-nickel alloy ratios is obtained. This chromium-nickel alloy electroplating layer can be used to substitute and improve the traditional chromium plating layer for decoration and the hard chromium plating in corrosion prevention. The formulation of this invention is used under room temperature to produce a plated layer of good quality. Further more, since the formulation is made from a ri-valence chromium and a two-valence non toxic water solution, it meets to the standard specifications requirements of the personnel safety operations and the environment industry safety.
