Abstract

A PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) reactor equipped with intelligent controller includes temperature sensor, temperature controller, human machine interfaces, and Fuzzy logical controller. The temperature signals measured by thermo sensor in the reactor tube were converted into electronic signals through an analog/digital card in the reactor process. Then, the electronic signals were inputted into microprocessor via cable. The microprocessor could display the user's settings on the monitor in the PCR procedure. The microprocessor controls and adjusts the temperature procedure depending on user's settings. When the operator chooses the automation procedure or manual-setting procedure, the microprocessor will send controlling signal and display the setting on the human machine interfaces. In the temperature setting procedure, intelligent fuzzy logical controllers are utilized in the temperature feedback control. When adding intelligent controller to PCR reactor, the temperature curve will strikingly approach the operating setpoint without overshoot and the efficiency of amplification will obviously increase in PCR reactor.
