Abstract
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polarizing plate having little frame-like light leakage occurred due to the distortion of a liquid crystal panel, and a liquid crystal display device of high display quality having such polarizing plate. The polarizing plate is obtained by laminating an adhesive layer 1, a optical compensation sheet 2, a polarizing film 3 and a protective layer 4 in this order, wherein when the light elastic coefficient of the adhesive layer is taken as Cn(1/Pa), the film thickness of the support of the optical compensation sheet 2 is taken as Tw (μm), the film thickness of the adhesive layer is taken as Tn(μm), the film thickness of the protective layer is taken as Tt(μm), and the elastic modulus of the protective layer is taken as Et(Pa), the Y value of the following formula (1) is 0.0006 or less, the Y1 value of the following formula (1) is 0.0006 or less, the Y2 value of the following formula (1) is 0.0006 or less, or the Y3 value of the following formula (1) is 0.0006 or less, Y=700000×Cn+0.000013×Tw-0.0007 (1) Y1= -19130×(Cn+5×10<SP>-11</SP>)×(Tn+4.5)+0.000713 (2) Y2= -700000×Cn+0.075/Tt-0.0002375 (3) Y3= -700000×Cn+3.56×10<SP>6</SP>/Et-0.0001762 (4)
