Abstract

The objective of the invention is to provide a display device and its manufacturing method that can simplify a manufacturing process, and are advantageous to a manner that makes the device very small and free of a problem of deterioration of a light emission layer. An oxide film 9 is formed between an insulating film 10 and an organic insulating film 6. The oxide film 9 is formed by oxidizing a metal film 7 made of Ag alloy and has a function of stopping water from moving from the organic insulating film 6 to an insulating film 10. Consequently, the light emission layer 11 is prevented from deteriorating owing to water oozing from the organic insulating film 6 and reaching the light emission layer 11 through the insulating film 10, so the reliability of the device can be increased.
