In the apparatus and method for recovering water from organic matter-containing water, after biologically treating the organic matter-containing water, the pH of filtrate obtained by filtering the biologically treated water is adjusted to alkaline, and then permeate obtained by passing the filtrate trough a reverse osmosis membrane device is recovered as treated water.
