Abstract
Disclosed is a sealing material composition for hermetically sealing a joint surface between bases made of a glass, ceramic or metal which does not contain harmful components such as lead and is able to provide sealing at 300 DEG C or less. Such a sealing material composition has excellent adhesion strength to glasses, ceramics and metals, ultraviolet resistance and weather resistance. In addition, the sealing material composition has excellent reliability in workability, airtightness and adhesion strength by greatly reducing air bubbles produced during thermal curing. Specifically disclosed is a sealing composition containing a curable methylphenyl silicone resin, a refractory filler and a getter, which is characterized in that the amount of the getter relative to the total of the curable methylphenyl silicone resin, refractory filler and getter l is 0.1-45% by mass, and the amount of the refractory filler relative to the total of the curable methylphenyl silicone resin, refractory filler and getter is 10-80% by mass.
